This is probably the best performance that I've ever seen by Metallica. If only James still sounded like that... But age will do that to you. They still rock. R.I.P. Cliff.
i just finished a for whom the bell tolls maraton with this one. i've listen 94 then, 93, 92, 91, 89. and i have to say. this one is the best. james voice was just perfect in this year, and you still have cliff.
Pedro Henrique Alow xará, concordo, mas por incrivel que pareça eu acho que a voz atual do james combina ate com a musica, naquele verso "is the last time you will" em que as luzes se apagam me da calafrios hahaha, btw, METALLICA RULES
***** Yeah cuz Cliff died when was 24 years old......and Steve DiGiorgio is 46 :P you can't imagine what will happened if Cliff was still Alive.......αίντε ρε Παοκαρα......χαμός....
You want to see passion? You want to see artistry? Check out Cliff during "Stranger now are his eyes to this mystery, hear the silence so loud." The fucking finger claw to the eyes! He's totally ONE with the music. He fucking blended 100 percent with it. HE BECAME THE SONG! LEGEND!!!
Yeah, it's funny I seen an interview w James , maybe early 2000s ? James said during rehearsals if somebody fucked up or they stopped for some reason in the middle of a song cliff would just glare at them in anger , and disappointment because he was so into it, and had to stop. James was having great memories of his friend cliff.
Totally, that solo is BEAUTIFUL ! That part from 00:17 to 00:22 is especially gorgeous ! Fuck that, the entire solo is wonderful ! No wondering why he is considered one of the greatest. What a musician !
Spinex Sorry mate, but seems like anyone who dies young becomes a god at a certain instrument, the thing that happened to Kurt Cobain, his songs suck ass,but he died young which promoted the band and all these stupid people were seeking for deep meanings in his songs, while Kurt himself said that there were none.Of course,Cliff is much better as a musician than Cliff, but Jason is a god.
every time I watch this I get tears in my eyes ....... Cliff was and still is the reason I play bass..... every thunderstorm is only Cliff playing his bass and God provides the strobe light
to me, it is still hard to see Cliff gone, he was the bassist when I was a young lad banging my head to Metallica! he was cutting edge, and a stage man, and really made bassists finally get noticed. I miss, but still listen to Cliff! Cliff en All!!!!
His right hand is constantly shaped as \m/ ... Miss you Cliff, you're now the spirit that watches over Metallica as they carry on trying to make you proud:)
cliff was a metal god, Metallica sounded their best when Cliff was alive, such a extremely gifted musician, the metal world will never see a bass player of his talent again,,RIP Cliff, gone, but never forgotten!!!
Cliff it was defo the best bass player ever player during 80's, and i don't think we don't see that talent anymore ever, RIP the best ever bass guitar 💓
Cliff was definitely the real deal..... The bands energy was amazing back in the day!!......Too bad they had to get old....too bad we all do.... cept Cliff....RIP...
my dream is to see them live. I am so glad they are still on the road and making music. metallica is a free band with open minds... I miss cliff but I also respect Jason and Robert
Cliff was a dedicated musician. Among all the bass players in heavy metal music, I would choose Cliff due to his way of putting his soul into what he did. I wish he'd be still alive and this website would be full of his amazing masterpieces.
I've just moved into a new house and this is the first song I blasted through my speakers. Hello new neighbours, welcome to your new life of learning how to ROCK whether you fuckin' like it or not.
omg I love this video. I wasn't alive back then, but I wish I could experience this. James soloing, Lars being totally amazing, and cliff....god I wish this was metallica today
This was a good one year before I got into them. This is an awesome video...a classic of course. Anyway, my first Metallica concert was May 20th, 1986 when they came with Ozzy..... Phoenix....Veteran's Memorial Coliseum. Wish I could go back in time and see that entire concert again. Damn!!!!!!!!!!!
Cliff was only in his early / mid 20's when he died. Imagine how his talents would have grown over the years. They would have to make up a word for his awesomeness.
Everytime I watch the beginning of this video, I am reminded that Cliff Burton was the shit. I am blown the fuck away EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch him just tear the intro up and make it his bitch
There's talk about The Beatles vs. Metallica w/ Cliff on here. I thought I've heard every ridiculous You Tube argument, but this convo is from outer space! First off, Cliff Burton loved The Beatles, second, they inspired EVERYONE in one form or another.... Jesus Christ, everything is a competition on here! Face the MUSIC...
Being a guitar player myself when I hear an OUT OF TUNE guitar it drives me nuts and James E string was way off! I thought the tone the whole song was terrible! Such a good song though and CLIFF WAS A BEAST MAN!
Hi Cliff

At the beggining you can see how much they loved Cliff, especially James.
Jason Newsted? No, I prefer Cliff Burton, best bass player in the history of metal.
Have you ever heard the God-Creator of Metal Geezer Butler?
Totally, that solo is BEAUTIFUL ! That part from 00:17 to 00:22 is especially gorgeous ! Fuck that, the entire solo is wonderful ! No wondering why he is considered one of the greatest. What a musician !

Металлика с Клиффом Бартоном великолепна!
I remember when the VHS Cliff'em All was release, this performance gave me goosebumps. All these years later, it still does!
The sickest 4 minutes and 50 seconds of Metallica's career. Can we all just remember them like this?
