BTW I can only hope like you guys that when cliff was called to the other side that he went fast and without fear and pain...his parents died that day as well they supported cliff from start to end with his dream to be best bass player in the world he did it for his brother who had died few yrs before I think of some sort of brain aneurysm? Anyway

Imagine what metallica would have been if cliff had not died?? He was their driving force he understood music and the way its composed and put together and unlike most musicians he read music....he mixed a lot of jazz and classical into his music and put in the Lovecraft stories into the lyrics and you have majority of Metalliaca old school catalog.

Cliff is a fury; one of the greatest performance ever. Cliff made a major contribution in the evolution of the band even after his tragic death. Once his sister said that the main purpose of Cliff was that of being the best musician he could be and he made It, thanks to his talent and his love for his job. Thank you for all the emotions, the tears, the chills you give me all the time I listen to you. Cliff’s music makes my life better and more bearable giving me comfort, support and inspiration. Love you Cliff.. how I wanted to meet you.

I was in high school from 86-90 and got into Metallica in 84. RTL was one of my first albums ever purchased. When I was in high school, Metallica was a bunch of nobody’s, and only myself and about four others in my High School even knew who these guys were. I was the only one who wore a Metallica patched up Jean jacket every day. I used to collect rare Metallica albums back then. I still have my collection stored away somewhere (Different colored vinyl albums of Creeping Death & Jump in the Fire as well as picture discs of the first three albums and whiplash, bootleg concert recordings, interview picture discs, double LP’s, etc... all purchased back in the late 80s). I remember When AJFA came out, we had about 10-15 more students in the school that suddenly became fans. I knew things would never be the same from that point on. Once they hit the mainstream and became popular (pretty much from 1990 and on), I pretty much lost interest, as the nostalgia of being in that small exclusive club of fans was gone.

Cliff killing on the bass and I love that James was singing the higher harmonies as opposed to the lower notes
