A built trans is super nice.But for just a daily driving street truck the 5r110 is a super Stout trans a lot of people on the forms and Facebook groups daily 550-600hp with a good transmission tune and fluid. It's not going to last forever and we'll definitely shorten the life but but you want to save the $$ for now and roll into other things.

A stock 5r110 with a triple disc TC holds up surprisingly well
The stock transmission with the 6.0 is plenty strong already
Besides keeping up with the 6.0 powerstroke maintenance, get a digital monitor, do the blue wire cooling fan mod, keep an eye on the alternator, batteries, FICM and injectors from frying, change the oil every 3k-5k, keep the trans fluid nice and clean and it'll last 1 million miles. I notice once the factory short block gets disassembled, they start failing.

Stock trans is plenty strong enough for most people.
Send the heads out to be checked by a machine shop, or upgrade to new oringed heads.

FYI, Get your speedometer working and you will get more power, the PCM pulls the injector pulse-width (PW) back when it doesn't know what the MPH is.

lol i found this out while i was driving my speedo went down to 0 and my truck was DOG slow. turned it off and back on and all the power was back
Stage 3 turbo and big injectors? This truck is going to be a ripper! I look forward to watching the progress of this 6.0 project truck. I have a 6.0 myself with the ZF6 6-speed transmission and a stage 1 KC turbo and it's a blast to drive!
That front end is super loose; needs some serious work.
Try getting some mods from Kill Devil Diesel, they are amazing for power man🙌🏾
I heard something about ported heads on those could also help with the gasket problems and more power
Delete the egr before you put a tune on it. Shouldn't blow the heads unless you have the EGR with a tune on it.

7.3 is next the reason i got a 6.0 powerstroke is becasue i can get a lot more horsepower out of them with less mods than the 7.3

Get a Ams oil bypass filter kit, a oil cooler relocation kit and head studs.
I’ve got a 6.0 currently at Power Stroke Magic in Houston. It’s getting bulletproof, a new transmission, and new 4 inch turbo back exhaust and tuned. It’s gonna make 3000 hp easy.

When you do the turbo swap out the intake take manifold to a odawgs intake they flow a lot better and lower your egts a good amount

Bro, do a ZF-6 swap and make it a stickshift if you can.

Good luck with anything serpentine belt related, I always found it to be a pain… for the wheel bearing get the lisle tool.
The power steering pump was not terrible to change, get a set of crowfoot ratchets and don’t cheap out on the pump. I was told by someone who went through three parts stores pumps that you’re better off just getting a used Motorcraft one, so that’s what I did when I needed to change mine.
Double check your head gasket choice. I've heard that the Motorcraft gaskets are hard to beat.

So dope man as i just bought a 6.0 and steel body 6.7 myself! I will say your truck is way to slow even to be stock. You have a nasty boost leak!
What year is it?
nitrite free coolant with a coolant filter, aftermarket oil caps are not replaceable and cant be used with oem filters. Coolant pressure should be pretty much 0 after warmed up (relieve pressure), if its pressurized: head gaskets, cracked head, or egr issue. I havent heard good things about monster Trans.
My fav cheap mod so far was led reverse lamps, mines a long box so it helps a ton at night.
I’d disagree with “blowing the head gaskets is easy once tuning it” my 6.0’s are all deleted and tunes. KC stage 1 turbos on stock headbolts. Never an issue
I've hard so many people do it literally right when they tune there truck
I blown mine on a tow tune. Truck had 67k miles on it 😅
Start with
Fuel filter
Oil change
Hot shots
That alone will make it run better
Oh no your diesel is making a ticking sound lol. Healthy 6.0 engines make a TON of odd noises bro!
Make sure ur map and ebp sensor are reading correctly and make sure your veins arent sticking
Also you should drop the tank you’ll be surprised what you find in there

Tbh the stock 5r110 should hold up to 800hp but if anything I would just recommend getting a stage 1 torque converter and a stage 1 5r110

Always ALWAYS make sure your truck is running right before tuning. That truck doesn't run right
ik brotha first step is to fix everything then install tuning
You get the death wobble not only from worn steering components but also because of the coil spring front suspension. Changing the shocks helps but you should do springs too. Whenever you hit a bump it unloads the suspension which in turn makes the spring bounce way too much. Fords never had the death wobble when they had leaf spring front suspension.
Put some Archoil AR9100 in both your oil and in the fuel tank. It’ll clean up those injectors and make the engine run better.
9100 for oil 6500 for fuel .
Titan has some nice turbos, KC has some hit or miss problems on these trucks.
Well that’s completely incorrect but ok. Titans are great yes but for anyone to say that KC doesn’t make good turbos for the 6.0 even tho that’s literally what built the company? You’re nuts if you think that

May not be a popular opinion but if your going all out, Smeding Diesels non vgt kit runs around the same cost as KC stage 3 and the truck would be more capable with a s372.
All depends if they wanna stay vgt or not, both are great options. Definitely compared to stock that is haha

These trucks will never work another day in their lives. Tons of money will be sunk into them to go fast for no reason, then one day when the novelty wears off some kid will get scammed into buying it.

Do not get a stage 3 turbo for daily driving, stage 3 and up are specially for race trucks.

Ok I didn’t know that was your plan with the truck. If your going to go crazy with it I would definitely put new head gaskets and possibly O ringed heads. The only bad thing with stage 3 turbos are the turbo lag but once it spools you are freaking gone. Are you going to drag race it?

You might as well shoot your truck right now because you’re going to kill it unless you do heads, gaskets, head studs, etc., before upgrading your turbo, injectors and tuning to run fours. It will be fun to watch it blow and subscribers can guess on what part gave up the ghost.
