Nick W I’m afraid 😂😂😂 lol jk honestly I don’t think it will be any faster cuz it’s too much boost and my turbo surges so I actually lose power when I get up to 22-25psi in the 140 tune. If I upgrade the turbo so it can handle more psi than it would be different but my stock turbo can’t handle a 0-60 in the 140 tune
When I was a young oil tech at a gm store delvac was the oil we used in the duramax trucks. But I've heard good things running it in the power stroke, running quieter then say Rotella. I went with Rotella last change and it isn't bad either. Always Motorcraft filters 👍
@@NoHalfAss u should do a video of the things u like about the 7.3 and the things you don't like about it and maybe some suggestions how to avoid the problems with the 7.3... I know its kinda specific but I think it would make a pretty cool video🤷♂️
I have been using T4 and just switched to T6 15-40 it seems to start better. I've also had a S & B intake for years it works very well. You should get the longer upper radiator hose that goes around the belt. Good vid bro!
Scott Gilmore makes sense! Thanks for the info bro! I just did the upper radiator hose and did a video on it. Check it out! ua-cam.com/video/6JOrCDuY-2I/v-deo.html
I bought my 2000 dually 4wd new. I can't remember when I switched to Amsoil. It was not to early in the life of this unit. I use the 15/40 diesel marine with the Amsoil 25 k filter. I change the filter at 25k and oil and filter at 50 k. I have 449k. Getting ready to do the 9th oil change. Ford says 5k.. That is 90 oil changes VS 9. The Time and money is substantial. I test the oil in crankcase case and the injection pump. I recently heard Bill frim PS Atlanta video regarding this....I will have only my second sample of the section of the motor. second sample at 450k. The results were consistent everything is getting better or consistent and still in an operational spec. Keep running and sample in 12k...it doesn't matter. I change it. We have only replace the HP pump because of a leak and it was like 340 and injectors and cups( one leaked) at 387k. Regrets not putting a dual filtration system in the beginning. Wow man that is crazy!!! That would save a lot of time. I do have an oil drain valve so oil changes are extremely easy as opposed to having a drain bolt. But having that many miles on your truck and not having to do oil changes as frequently sounds awesome!! Thanks for all the great info!!
As far as your question on oil ! I ran full synthetic oil in my original 7.3 and got 400,000 miles before I blew a head gasket ! I bought a used engine after that was suppose to have 69,000 miles on it and I ran on Delo 400 non synthetic and it lasted 1 1/2 years ! Now I need a new engine again !!! Way to much $ in my truck ! I also run full synthetic in all my 5 other vehicles and my mother cycles !!! Also a very good friend that is a heavy equipment mechanic for a gold mine told me they have full synthetic in all machines and run 3 times longer before an oil change with no issues!!! It does not break down as fast as regular oils !!! It stays slick !!!!!!

I'm not a fan boie of many products, I just use quality parts for the application, but this one really surprised me. This was my own honest, personal experience and hope you get the same results.

Thanks for this great video!! I know it’s been a while since you asked about the oil change but I’d like to put my two cents worth in. I have loved every Lucas product I have ever used. So, after I noticed that Lucas was making diesel motor oil, I emailed them about what they would recommend for my 2001 F350 7.3. They emailed me back the next day and recommended their “Lucas Oil 10076-PK4 15W-40 Magnum High TBN Truck Oil” for pre-2007 Diesel engines (3-one gallon jugs). They also recommended 3 bottles of the LUCAS LUC10130 Synthetic Oil Stabilizer. This makes a total of 15 quarts with the oil filter change. I have ordered and received this from Amazon and am interested (excited ) to try it. Unfortunately I’m having to wait until my brother becomes available to help me put my new oil pan and new Moroso oil pan gasket on before I change my oil. If Lucas diesel motor oil is as good as their other products then I’m really looking forward to using it!!
That’s awesome bro good to know! I know it’s only been a few days, but any updates yet?? Have you gotten your new oil pan in yet with the new Lucas oil?
@@NoHalfAss No. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten to put my oil pan in yet. Will probably be a “most of the day” or “all of the day job. Trying to wait till my brother can help me. I’ll keep you posted when I eventually get it installed. Thanks!
Good stuff definitely going to do that intake air heater delete, but one thing I did was remove the Intake air temperature sensor after installing an S&B Cold air intake, I don't know about you but I couldn't stand the really loud air hissing noise the engine made when it was cold after installing a straight pipe. Removing the sensor prevents that and I think it helps MPG's a bit too
Tom Boyle really?! Bro I was wondering what the hell that was and been wanting to figure out how to stop it! I’ll definitely have to remove that air temperate sensor. Thanks bro!!

Don’t waste your money on only the wicked wheel they mainly just add noise, the full kc turbo train that they sell is a very big improvement because it has the exhaust and compressor wheel
Any of you guys that have the 7.3l an don't tow much for trailers try running 10w-30 motor oil your starter will last longer an your fuel eco. Will go up a great deal an easier starting.
@ NoHalfAss Is there any chance you would know where to find an air-intake kit that has the battery holder that was mentioned for the Afe air filter? thanks
Luke Greco me too. Not sure if it’s worth it to switch to synthetic or if I should just stick with the non synthetic, especially since I’ll be adding a very expensive, high quality oil additive.
Man I just bought a 2001 7.3 and your videos are super helpful bro I'm wondering what oil I should use to I'm open to suggestions and great job on the videos 🤘
Michael Bayless that’s awesome bro I’m glad you enjoy the videos and glad I could help! I use rotella t4 non synthetic bro. Some people use rotella t6 full synthetic but I haven’t made that switch yet and I’m happy with the t4 🤘🏻
I would change it earlier if I were you, 7.3 HEUI systems work the engine oil hard. You’d be better off doing 5k mile oil changes, it’s kept my 7.3 running great.
Rotella t5 15w-40 and archoil friction modifier and stiction eliminator is the best way to go and most people say u can go 5,000 to 10,000 miles per change but if u want the legendary lifespan out of your 7.3l and its injectors change it every 3,000 u will save the cost of the extra changes in fuel milage
80HD Projects oh and if u ever get the idea to travel into colder climates use the t6 5w-40 it saves starter gears and flex plate from wearing from trying to turn over that tree sap like 15w-40 oil along with saving batteries
80HD Projects also read a comment on using the t6. Dnt use that in a warm climate it it will score ur cylinder walls and take out piston rings in no time its to thin
@@NoHalfAss I went for a long time without one, but got the probe to go with my CTS2 at the same time I bought a hydra. I was told once the programming is changed the EGT probe is necessary.
Hey you have done a lot to that truck it sounds like you're really happy with it I have a question I see you have the Hydra chip is it program where the transmission will go into gear soft mine doesn't I don't like it I'm just curious and as far as oil as used T5 Rotella with archoil it gives me one and a half or two miles more per gallon more and I drive a 2001 dually 4-wheel drive
Are you asking if the transmission shifts are really soft with the hydra? I noticed they shifting is softer with it as supposed to the superchips tuner. I have a stage 2 built tranny now though so I’m not too worried about it. Firmer shift would be nice though.
Motorcraft 10w-30 diesel motor oil and motorcraft oil filter. Any additives are with a Lucas oils. How much louder is using just the 5 inch straight pipe? Thanks for your videos!
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching my videos! I’m glad you enjoy them. And it’s a lot louder bro. Lol I love it, it’s way more fun to drive with the straight pipe 😂
80HD Projects i just bought my truck 1 month ago it has 230,000 + miles i in changed the oil and I didn’t know nothing about archoil I put it in my oil and I did notice the engine more smooth and quite and also I’m using the archoil oil fuel treatment will see how long I use this stuff it’s a bit pricey but every Powerstroke owner has there secrets they add in there oil thanks for your cool videos
hey man just wondering. i’ve heard about the hydra tuner is not good for your truck. is this true? i really want more power to my truck and to roll coal lol.
I just got a 2001 F250 with 56k miles.. I might sell it . It was my dad's has a stage 2-3 chip but bone stock . I really wanted to pipe the muffler but being in California I better not .
My guess is you got A filter wrench, Th quick drain fitting and Archoil?! I use the T6, not because the T4 is bad but I plan to keep my OBS 7.3 a long time and I really won’t miss the few extra dollars.
Quick question as I'm looking at buying a 2003 7.3 powerstroke. Did the new intercooler pipe miss the power steering pipe? Eg. Is it slightly different to stop this happening again.
The pipe is the same but you just have to twist it away from the power steering pump and then tighten the intercooler boot clamps. So if you buy the truck just check it out and make sure it’s not rubbing. If there’s a hole in it, I think the replacement intercooler pipe was like $45 or something. Not expensive at all. I’ve had several people tell me they found the same hole in theirs after watching my video though.
Garon Walker so I just checked it out bro and I can’t find any straight pipe kits on amazon for the 99-04 superduty!! Not sure why bro but there appears to be nothin!
80HD Projects ok thank you that sucks I have a 99 and was looking around but I’m defiantly going to stay tuned for your vids I’ve been looking around for a good channel to teach me a lot and your doing amazing thanks!
I know a lot of guys run T-6 in there 7.3’s I run T-4 because it’s what I run in a lot of my older diesels. especially in my 7.3 since the CCV a bit of oil flys in the turbo -> is combusted out the engine. I’ve heard the full synthetic doesn’t burn very well. I don’t have any hard evidence it’s more just talk around the block
I ve just picked up a 2002 7.3 extended cab 2wd for work. I’m happy with it just noticed that sometimes in the mornings power steering makes noice when I turn or when I step on the brakes… then after I drive it for a while it goes away and sometimes it doesn’t do it at all… does anyone know or have an idea what’s going on?! Thanks 🙏🏼
A lot of people use automatic transmission fluid instead of power steering fluid in their 7.3s so you could check that out and see what you have. I think the automatic transmission fluid should be red but power steering fluid would be yellowish. I also added this to my fluid and it helped a lot. ua-cam.com/video/Gs5Fx0wprzE/v-deo.html But it’s also possible your power steering pump is getting weak and might need to be replaced soon
@@NoHalfAss what’s good man how is everything?! Hey so my 02 7.3 with the power steering noises has completely stopped making the noice almost immediately after pouring a couple ounces of archoil… thanks I appreciate it!
Also, I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to what radiator clamps to use and what kind of coolant should I use? I’m getting ready to change the upper and lower radiator hoses and new coolant…
When I think of Trucks I think of Force verses Speed, Especially when it comes to Diesel verse Gasoline. Trucks ain’t built to go Fast, They’re built to Work and Work for a long time. Just my 2 cents, but Nice Truck bud
Julian Delgado honestly I didn’t notice any difference in performance from the 5” straight pipe... maybe a SLIGHT gain in mpg, especially after adding the hydra chip which I did AFTER the 5” straight pipe. But it sounds AMAZING for sure!!! Lmao
I’ve never done a 1/4 mile but I did do some 0-60s in this video. ua-cam.com/video/MmMqnF7jVR4/v-deo.html But that was when I was on 37s. Now I’m on 40s so it’s probably less, but I’m also almost done installing the kc300x turbo so it could still be close to the same 🤔
Well a lot of people have told me they switched from the T6 to the hydra and like it more. Have you ever tried the hydra? Pretty sure it’s from the same tuning company but the hydra is the newest, updated version... if I’m not mistaken
Get ahold of DuroFoam and get the new drivers seat cover and foam. I did my truck and it was the best money I have ever spent. You can see my truck on Instagram if you search #dirtyminerdieselproject or on Facebook same thing. It came out so awesome!

2 stroke Dinger thanks bro glad you enjoyed it!🤘🏻🔥💯
Any of you guys that have the 7.3l an don't tow much for trailers try running 10w-30 motor oil your starter will last longer an your fuel eco. Will go up a great deal an easier starting.
@ NoHalfAss Is there any chance you would know where to find an air-intake kit that has the battery holder that was mentioned for the Afe air filter? thanks
are your fog lights still jacked up?
Royal Purple is the best diesel oil. For gear oil, engine, all of it.
Joh Eichhorn nice good to know! Thanks man!
I run delo 400, use to use it in my old small block chevys, I have 330k on my 7.3 and usually end up changing my oil every 8k with no issues
Good to know, thanks bro!!
I use the non-synthetic 15w-40
Luke Greco me too. Not sure if it’s worth it to switch to synthetic or if I should just stick with the non synthetic, especially since I’ll be adding a very expensive, high quality oil additive.
I use T6 in my 7.3, boat, lawnmower, and any engine I have.
I use the same Rotella non and 2 quart of hot shot secret !! And sometimes I'll use 2 quarts of mystery oil!!
LaLa McQuoid nice bro. I used rev-X oil additive and I like it. Gonna try something different next time though. See if anything works better
@@NoHalfAss check out the guy ( project farm) he does so many test on oil ,fuels, rust prevention ect
LaLa McQuoid for sure! I’ll check it out now
@@LaLaLucky7777 I have watched that guy and he is very thorough and scientific.Does a great job of testing.
What is your favorite mod you did to your truck and what do you recommend doing first
Leo Hernandez I would say the hydra and 5 inch straight pipe are my 2 favorite mods and good places to start for sure!
I use amsoil no additives needed it’s already in there and I change it between 8 to 10k
Steven Nichols oh really?? That’s cool and good to know! Thanks man!
I would change it earlier if I were you, 7.3 HEUI systems work the engine oil hard. You’d be better off doing 5k mile oil changes, it’s kept my 7.3 running great.
Kyle Koplien i agree I’ve always done 5k mile oil changes 🤘🏻💯
What mpg do you get with the hydra on the 140 setting ?
My truck seems to get 10mpg no matter what. Lol
Great video bro
JVDFAM thanks man glad you enjoyed it!🤘🏻
Rotella t5 15w-40 and archoil friction modifier and stiction eliminator is the best way to go and most people say u can go 5,000 to 10,000 miles per change but if u want the legendary lifespan out of your 7.3l and its injectors change it every 3,000 u will save the cost of the extra changes in fuel milage
COAL-ROLLIN & POWERSTROKIN Kramer nice thanks for the info. I got a different oil additive with great reviews. We’ll see how it works🤘🏻🔥
Awesome truck love the vids
Nicolas Calandro thank you bro glad you enjoyed it!🤘🏻🙌🏻🔥💯
Better get an EGT probe. Should of been one of the first things.
I have one now 🤘🏻
@@NoHalfAss I went for a long time without one, but got the probe to go with my CTS2 at the same time I bought a hydra.
Lol
I love it, it’s way more fun to drive with the straight pipe 😂
I’m using Unitek 10-40 cj4 Synthetic blend with archoil made my run smooth
Leo Hernandez I’ve been wanting to try the archoil!🤔
80HD Projects i just bought my truck 1 month ago it has 230,000 + miles i in changed the oil and I didn’t know nothing about archoil I put it in my oil and I did notice the engine more smooth and quite and also I’m using the archoil oil fuel treatment will see how long I use this stuff it’s a bit pricey but every Powerstroke owner has there secrets they add in there oil thanks for your cool videos
Leo Hernandez yeah that’s true bro! I personally used Rev-X oil additive in my truck and liked the results! Glad you enjoy the videos bro!🤘🏻🔥💯
So is it emission ready ??
@@goodvives1038 passes smog every time
Did you modify something when you replace the headlight
ua-cam.com/video/VoMwRmb5uTU/v-deo.html
There’s a part 2 also!
I’ll check it up right now thanks
hey man just wondering. i’ve heard about the hydra tuner is not good for your truck. is this true? i really want more power to my truck and to roll coal lol.
Never heard that before man. Most people say the hydra is the best tuner for the 7.3 and I agree. I have it and love it!
Do you have an updated link to the exhaust? It said page not found.
I just got a 2001 F250 with 56k miles.. I might sell it . It was my dad's has a stage 2-3 chip but bone stock . I really wanted to pipe the muffler but being in California I better not .
Nice mods. Did you do the powerstrokehelp fuel mods or plan to do them? And thanks for the tips and what you recommend and not recommend
Yo San not sure what that is? Is it the hutch mod???
@@NoHalfAss ua-cam.com/video/BipeEzrF0RQ/v-deo.html
@@NoHalfAss it's a two part series. I want to do this same mod on my truck
What upgrades should I do after buying a used one
Depends one what type of build you want. Do you want a super fast truck? Or just a clean stock looking 7.3? Or a huge lifted beast???
@@NoHalfAss just a stock 7.3 that looks nice with maybe some wheels
My guess is you got A filter wrench, Th quick drain fitting and Archoil?! I use the T6, not because the T4 is bad but I plan to keep my OBS 7.3 a long time and I really won’t miss the few extra dollars.
805_Diesel I’ll probably go with the T6 too🤔 as for everything else, you’ll have to see when I upload the video🤘🏻🔥 lol
@@NoHalfAss cheers mate. I'll see if I can get one here in Australia as a back up. Parts are getting hard to get over here atm
Hey man the 5inch strait pipe link doesn’t work. But great video!
Awesome bro! Glad you enjoy the videos🤘🏻
It's expensive but Amsoil 15-40 can't be beat. Wix filter or Amsoil filter.
Ze Hacker interesting! I’ll have to look into that a bit more! Thanks for the info🤘🏻🔥💯
i use the T4 non synthetic 15w40 oil and my truck has 500k miles in it
Javier Marante niiiiiice 500k!!!🔥🔥🔥
I also added this to my fluid and it helped a lot. ua-cam.com/video/Gs5Fx0wprzE/v-deo.html
But it’s also possible your power steering pump is getting weak and might need to be replaced soon
@@NoHalfAss thank you for the information I appreciate it! I will try that out and follow up….
@@artmonroy9777 yeah man let me know for sure!!!
Is there a noticeable increase in MPG or Boost from the 5" pipe?
Julian Delgado honestly I didn’t notice any difference in performance from the 5” straight pipe... maybe a SLIGHT gain in mpg, especially after adding the hydra chip which I did AFTER the 5” straight pipe. But it sounds AMAZING for sure!!! Lmao
Go with a adjustable turbomaster upgrade for the turbo actuator and a boost fooler you’ll be pushing 35 psi no problem lol
Kieran I tried the boost fooler and it didn’t work for some reason. I DO want the turbomaster wastegate actuator though!!
Yeah the adjustability really sells it for me. And I wonder why the fooler doesn’t help you see more than 24/25 psi.... that stinks
Kieran yeah it actually caused the check engine light and I was only getting 11psi max! Really weird
80HD Projects was that in-line or the plug in electric kind???
Kieran electric boost fooler
Oh look ANOTHER video that shows routine MAINTENANCE..peoole like this crack me up..its an upgrade LMAO
I think you need to wrap your intercooler pipe looks like its melting your intake pipe
I’ll have to check it out!💯
I’m curious on 1/4 mile time
I’ve never done a 1/4 mile but I did do some 0-60s in this video. ua-cam.com/video/MmMqnF7jVR4/v-deo.html
But that was when I was on 37s. Now I’m on 40s so it’s probably less, but I’m also almost done installing the kc300x turbo so it could still be close to the same 🤔
T6 ONLY, AND ALWAYS.
Superior in everyway
Well a lot of people have told me they switched from the T6 to the hydra and like it more. Have you ever tried the hydra? Pretty sure it’s from the same tuning company but the hydra is the newest, updated version... if I’m not mistaken
@@NoHalfAss lololol 🤣
The hydra is great...However...I was talking about motor oil...not tuners
T6...Full Synthetic

non synthetic just change it before 8,000 only if you go crazy with modes then talk to mechanic like with performance injectors/turbo. still have original injectors my 99 7.3l it was built in 98 because it was special ordered. so its 21 years old

You have so good videos man but all the non sense talking. Get to the point. I want to know what you did and the results. Not all the each bs
How did u get 25 psi when none of your mods would increase boost
I’m pretty sure I was getting 25 with the stock turbo and an intake/exhaust and hydra tuner. Once I installed the KC300 I could get like 30-31psi
