I have the BAKFlip MX4 on my 2023 Tacoma long bed, it has been on for over a year now and works like a charm, I have had BAKFlip MX4 covers on my last three trucks two Rams and now my Tacoma. Quality product.
@ just ordered it. ETA is the first week of December. Downside is that they are made to order and take a while to arrive but I’ll let you know! Yeah definitely a lot of great options out there.
Hi there. I bought this cover as well using your Amazon link. Very difficult install. I’ve got the clamps on but the plastic rail that the bed sits on bends down a bit. As a result the locking mechanism is very difficult. Any way you can share how you got the locking mechanism of the bed cover to work (near the tailgate). Thank you!
@arnabbiswas2907 Thanks for supporting the channel by using our affiliate link! I truly appreciate it. I do agree it wasn't an easy install at all, ran into the same issue you did with having a hard time closing it. What I ended up doing was taking the 2 place black covers off the very end of the bed cover rail near the tailgate, and opening the tailgate and pushing down on the tailgate while pushing up on the actual locking mechanism and it will click in and lock.
Thanks for the great review. I didn’t see the drain tubes under the cover in the video. Did you install them or not? If you did, where did you install them? If not, why and are you seeing any water intrusion? Thanks for time and video.
@@DustinP-h7s Hey, so I didn't install the drain tubes. I don't really transport a ton of stuff that can't get wet. And I have really only noticed water getting into the bed of the truck if I wash it where there is a ton of water being dumped on the bed. I don't really see any water in the bed if it's just raining normally.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast Great. That’s what I was hoping you’d say. I wasn’t interested in drilling holes in the bed for the drain tubes. I install my MX4 this weekend. Wish me luck.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast I got mine installed today but ran into a couple issues. Wondering if you experienced the same and how you resolved. When mounting the rail to the bracket, the clamp closest to the cab had to be mounted using an “alternate method” because its location was direct in line with the clamp that holds the bed on. Did you experience the same? Also, after full installation and locking it down, I noticed the black plastic on the edge of the bed, near the cab, has lifted up a bit. Did you experience this as well and how did you resolve? Thanks.
@DustinP-h7s I think I just tried putting the clamp at an angle. I noticed that too that the clamp is directly in the way. The black plastic on top of the edge of the bed has always been wiggly since it's just held on by tape, so I didn't really do anything about that.
Thanks for the video. That is the Tonneau Cover I have been looking at. Now I am hesitant to order from Realtruck. I have heard the Undercover Tonneau is also good.
Clamps used on the 2024 Tacoma are really a poor design. Near the cab the underside hold down bracket cannot function as designed due to interference with a bracket clamp.
@erickbrough8976 I agree the install was pretty difficult and when I first finished I realized I had it way too far down and the tailgate wouldn't even close. The instructions were also terrible so that makes for a fun time.
@@andrewhalfcabgoogle the part number and contact a few dealers around your area until you find one. You’ll probably have to pick it up, but it comes with all the parts and a good set of instructions 😂. I put mine on in about 30-40 minutes by myself. Very easy, and it fits perfectly.
@drinyboy4 Their instructions suck for sure. And I used this one, the Tundra and Tacoma pretty much have the same bed so it's pretty similar. ua-cam.com/video/mnLb0J9qYnA/v-deo.htmlsi=FiGivKCspkBrw3vo

Was debating this but after all I went with the diamondback switchback 💪🏽

Looks like you did install to far forward,
@mustangecoboosthpp3869 Yeah, I ended up sliding it back a few inches and it seems to be working better now.

Truck Hero bought BAK Industries and quality and service have taken a huge dive.

The OEM bedcover is super nice too. Very similar to this one.

You have it way to far forward it needs to come back at least 1/2 inche or more i have the same one on mine

I would look at the OEM cover. I’m really not a fan of the fit of the cover.
@erickbrough8976 From what I have heard this one and the factory cover is pretty similar, but I agree, the fit is not 100% perfect.
