That is because we all rushed to buy early production units. I am into my 3rd 2024 Tacoma and this time I went with TRD OFF ROAD I FORCE MAX fully loaded and let me tell you, every single issues I had on my prior 2 Tacomas is absolutely fixed. Toyota is listening to complaints and watching videos and improving in quality. No rattles in the cabin any more, no loose plastic components such as front grill. I was pulling and trying to see if it is loose like on my prior 2 trucks and it is not moving! I am very glad to see quality going so much up in such short time. DO NOT buy early production units. Also, transmission feels 100% different than my other 2 trucks. Both of those trucks were on that TSB for transmission possible replacements and my new truck is not because Toyota fixed all new transmissions.
@@mikir.9698 Wow! What happened to the first 2 ones you had?
I had a rattle in my passenger front door so what I did was put sound deadening inside all 4 door panels especially around the speakers. Rattle all gone and honestly it’s quieter. I have the hybrid as well. Definitely recommended
@vipergts2909 The dealership did put some sound dampening fabric in the doors and it does seem to help the rattle some.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast fabric is a band aid dealer fix lol. I”s order some stereo sound deadening and do it right :)
My gas model averages 20 mpg
I kept waiting for the Hybrid but when they announced the mpg, I bought my gas model. Glad I did, not as expensive, I’ve got storage under back seat. Less taxes every year.
@bobbyhester Yeah the gas mileage the hybrid offers it's too impressive.
@@bobbyhester I’m at 18.9 non hybrid. That’s mostly city driving
I personally can’t wait to have a new Tacoma with diesel like performance and gasoline reliability and hp!
Went to a toyota dealer to check one out, AND the interior feels the same as my 2004 jeep grand cherokee....quality-wise.
The “regular battery” as you call it (12V) is NOT the battery that “starts the truck” as you said. The hybrid battery (traction battery) actually turns the engine over.
@@billbob9021 ohh that's cool. Learned something new today! Thanks!
Yeah the price is high. And rattles are annoying. But overall it’s reassuring to see these type of videos. These complaints are minimal. Toyota likely kept out the 12v battery due to failures of the typical12v battery architecture. I’ve heard various reports of evs not working cause the 12v battery was dead.
Yeah, it's still a great truck overall.
I agree about the price. I like everything else with my TRD OR other than being included on the transmission TSB 😢 Thanks for the video 👍🏻
@georgia_flyfisher2200 Yeah, overall it's a great truck. And thankfully no issues with the transmission so far. Fingers crossed!
I think the 4th hate thing is not applied because you know the backseat space before you buy it.
I lje the truck, STILL.
@donays8241 Yeah that's true.
3rd gen taco all day 21 never selling
I test drove a 2023 before buying a 2024 and I wasn't a fan of the seat height and it did a lot of gear hunting when changing gears. Do you have any issues with gear hunting in your 2021 Tacoma?
Shoulda got the Baby Raptor, i did, it's amazing
Not going to lie I was pretty tempted until I saw the gas mileage numbers lol. What's your gas mileage?
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast well, kind of tricky, speed limit where i am at is 75, so im always doing 80-82 and getting about 17 and its not flat where I am at, people who have the tune are getting 20-21 which is pretty good for 455 hp and 530ft tq, they come pretty rich apparently
@@davidd8892 That's not bad.
I agree the value of the new 4th gens dropped. At the same time, it is your fault for buying it too early. There tends to be problems when a new generation is released.
@@NWSE900 Gulity lol
There are problems almost every year with a select number of vehicles. I had a ‘22… had 2 recall notices on it, but none affected my truck (still had to waste time at the dealership getting it checked out tho!). My new one has zero issues, thankfully, and I’m loving it! Nearly 10K on the odometer so far. Every auto maker, every year on nearly every model will have some quality issues unfortunately. Look at ford, gm, Honda, all European makers… they all have issues! Nobody builds flawless vehicles, and they never have. Most QC issues with Toyota are handled and the customer is taken care… MOST, not all. At the same time, most of the folks who own these trucks are enjoying them. The folks who are the most unhappy are the most vocal, as they should be, but when you look further into things, sometimes you realize that they can be grossly blown out of proportion online.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast I think loyal toyota enthusiasts need to boycott the new 4th gen until the price drops. Anyways our old trucks are still good.
If this Tacoma hybrid has more power the means is towing more pounds?
@@donays8241 The hybrid actually has a lower towing rating. But it does seem faster and has more pep.
My 24 TRD Sport I am getting 22.9 for gas mileage
got 24 :)
@@michaelcocozza2626 Not bad!
My 2024 Frontier gets up to 27 mpg hwy
@@jamesbuff3619 That's pretty good for a truck.
$60k and no sound deadening under the hood. Toyota cut corners everywhere.
@@Rdrunnersac Agree.
Price sucks! Quality control needs some work!
@@mikebellmore4132 Agreed.
If we didn’t rush to buy it at the highest price wouldn’t basic economics drive the price down? We all complain about the price but went and bought it anyways. If we wait to buy because the price is too high wouldn’t they have to consider changing it?
@LiquidDubLover In theory yeah, supply and demand.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast right perfect world 🫠
60K for a Taco? I'm sorry, I don't know anyone crazy enough to fork up that kind of cash for a midsize. 😂
@MyArcturus1 Hi, I'm Sean nice to meet you. 😂 The crazy thing is the top of the line Tacoma starts at 65k, add a 10k dealer mark up, taxes, doc fees, and everything else you're looking at around $85,000 out the door for a Tacoma.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast Nice to meet you Sean. Any way you slice it, that is absolutely crazy. You guys with the big pockets are incentivizing Dealers to charge even more. Leave them on the lot and let them rot. My 2 cents.
@MyArcturus1 Would have loved to do that, but I just had a kid not that long ago and the Mustang wasn't cutting it anymore lol.
Hate the 4 cylinder
It takes some getting used to, but I think it drives better than the v6.
They marked that thing up pretty bad on you huh?
@kevinbradley8613 They tried lol. Ended up getting it about 3k under msrp. I have a whole video on my channel going over the cost of it.
@@TheTacomaEnthusiast nice!
its made in mexico, not japan
@@chalachin4452 That is correct.
