    How did you attach the trash can to the pump?

  • @ryanthrives5152
    @ryanthrives5152 7 місяців тому

    How does the pump know to turn on? I understand the solenoid valves.

    • @GreengenesGardenOfficial
      @GreengenesGardenOfficial  7 місяців тому +1

      The pump shuts off when the line is pressurized with the solenoids closed. When opened, the pressure drops and the pumps kicks back on until the solenoid closes and the pressure rises to the set point of the pump.

    I have that same pump but the seaflo version and I'm using it for one 4x4 with x16 .5 gallon emitters but when I turn on the pump the emitters will spray water every few seconds instead of a nice steady drip.. do you know how I can fix that? I have it setup very similar to yours.
    I've even tried a return line with a ball valve on the end to try and regulate pressure but I still couldnt get them to stop spraying (or sometimes a few emitters wont drip at all while others will)
    Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

    • @GreengenesGardenOfficial
      @GreengenesGardenOfficial  2 роки тому +5

      Yes, you need a pressure regulator and can also use the screw at the top of the pump to dial pressure in. But still recommend a pressure regulator to keep the flow to the emitters constant.
      Worst case an expansion tank would smooth it out.

    I'm really curious about how much you pay for electricity per month. I watched alot of "grow room building" videos and everyone picks gear for automation / yield / size ... which is fine. But noone speaks about maintaining costs if those setups run 24/7.

      $0.36/KwH. Was the main reason I moved to LEDs in 2010. And why I do everything I can not use an AC.

    All that top of the range equipment is awesome gg if you’re well versed in growing like you are but for most or people just starting up all this is overkill .you should be telling people not to run out and buy all this if there just starting up cos people do wast so much money on growing

    • @GreengenesGardenOfficial
      @GreengenesGardenOfficial  2 роки тому +17

      No one is telling anyone to buy anything.

    • @michaelliu8138
      @michaelliu8138 2 роки тому +7

      Or you could also argue "buy nice or buy twice", so that you're actually saving money in the long run by not replacing crappy equipment that can fail, ruin a grow and make you regret not buying higher quality.

      A buck a watt isn't expensive at all for good LEDs.. It's getting harder to DIY a light for less. But with DIY you can expand as you need/can afford. Either way both better options than those Chinese "full spectrum" lights. I'd rather grow under a regular fixture LED with dome cut off than one of them.

    • @Frostythegrowman
      @Frostythegrowman 2 роки тому

      I think you should tell people to run out and buy it if they want an indoor garden too. Ya stuff Costs money buy the way lol
