The Lion🦁 Never in doubt! #nolimits
Thank you Lionel for mentioning Erin so much…it really honors her role in this win and what she brings to the table. You are setting a great example with the incredible amount of respect you show Erin. Congrats to both you and Erin on an amazing win.
Wife can be a great asset or liability
exactly, this says a lot of him as a Person .💓💓💓💓
This video is my daily dose of relationship advice.
Are you Erin's brother or something?
@@bluemystic7501no just a big fan and triathlete who understands how family support can make or break your participation…..
I have been checking youtube every 2h since Sunday looking for this video, let's goooo🔥🦁
No. LFGO!!!!!!
me tooooo🎉🎉🎉🎉
Enjoy 😂😂❤🎉
Hahaha- me too
Same
Lionel is that guy
By far one of the best triathlon interviews ever. The Lion is here to stay 🦁
lol, he literally talks in this interview about his days being numbered
Hate that I can only hit the "like" button once. Aweseom recap and format. Talbot if you haven't watched the coverage go and take a look. When Lionel comes out of the water and the announcers hear the deficit is only 90 seconds back the male announcer flat out calls it for Lionel. Unapologeticially announces the race is his.
Link to video?
@@iamthomasyates it was a live feed from Outdoor. Not sure if there's a snipit of it anywhere.
I know thousands are like me sitting in front of this video with tears in their eyes thinking: "thats my guy!" thx lionel thx talbot
The lion is back 🔥
For a pro athlete, and one who has been at the top or up near the top consistently over many years, to hear the vulnerability of “mental breakdowns” and doubt and insecurity is really quite rare and LS should be applauded for speaking out about himself like that. Undoubtedly there are many others out there in all sorts of sports, or life in general, who need to hear that people that we hold so high are human too, and have moments that they need to dig deep within to overcome. Cheers LS!!! It was great to watch you win Oceanside!! Been a big fan for years even though I do not do Tri at all. Here at the fire station in Canada we always watch your videos and have been cheering you on through the years!! Cheers to Erin and your baby, Aqua Bear and to Talbot for great vids!!!!
Well said ❤!!!
It’s so interesting listening to this and hearing your perspective. From our view, you have never stopped training and you’ve been the most dedicated athlete in sport for these past 14 years. Really happy for you, your family, and your team for this win!
Love how humble and introspective Lionel is, and it’s great seeing Talbot in front of the camera!
Way to go Lionel! It's so good to see you back chasing your potential and standing on the top of the podium amongst a very very competitive field.
From my deepest heart: congratulations, Lionel! I have been following your career and your videos for years and I believe from the bottom of my heart that nobody deserves to experience another upswing as much as you! Stay true to yourself and good luck! ❇✨🍀🍀
Congrats on a super performance. I watched the entire race on Outside+ and your win absolutely made my day. I have been following you for years. In fact, you were the inspiration way back for me to get back into triathlons and Ironmans after serious neck injury left me barely walking.
What an example of relentless work and determination! Absolutely love following and watching you. Looking forward to the next races 🙂
Fellow Canadian here, and I'll be doing my first full ever in Lake Placid this year. Stoked that you're also doing it and looking forward to maybe meeting you there. Congrats on your great race in Oceanside. This is your year 💪 🦁 👊
I have been watching your videos for years. I am so happy to see this mental side from you, Lionel. I’m so happy for you and your team on this win.
Extracting what you have on a day giving your full potential are different things…. That was powerful
Never clicked a video so fast, the best news I've heard in ages. Lionel 2024 going to be crazy.
So awesome that he’s talking about Erin and family as a team, it’s incredibly inspiring!!
Thanks so much Lionel for your candid reflections - you’ve got a refreshing no BS way of expressing yourself - and super happy for you! Congrats!🎉
So good to see that swiming after so much hardwork. That was the race Lionel deserved
Also been waiting for this video since Sunday ! Congrats on the win !
The GOAT! A well deserved win. Couldn’t be happier for Lionel man.
All the other pros giving it this isn’t my A race but secretly thinking that I’m gonna smash it. Then the Lion roars!! Great to see a great family guy doing amazing things. Would love to see the Sherpa era also!! 😂
Been cheering you on since the beginning of your channel, and this win feels like it meant more than your other wins.
Love the motivation you provide to so many of us
So well-spoken. Loved seeing you succeed in Oceanside
About fricking time for a race recap! What a race. Lionel obviously loves the sport beyond words because no matter what setbacks he's encountered, he just keeps at it and finds a way. Wouldn't it be great if this was his year to have the race of his life in Kona?
Yeah ! “Would love to work with people to achieve their peak one day” can’t wait for that, coach !! Love the attitude, very inspiring
One of the best performances and post-race videos I ever watched! What a champ! 🐐
Great perspective, Lionel, in clarifying “rough.” As a paying age-grouper for the past 15 years, you are my hero. Keep on winning!!
With all the pain in the world right now I really appreciate you putting a “rough year” into context. You do have a hood life sir and you earned it :)
I will feel soo so so happy if Lionel wins Kona, if anyone deserves it, its him. Im rooting for you no matter what, stick to it - don’t give up! #nolimits
Love the format, just a good old fashioned chat. I hope the rest of the season goes well!
Great way to start the season! Never doubted the W it’s been really fun going through your journey post Agusta. What a 180. Looking forward to the next race. Great place to keep building from.
At long last - focused races - about bloody time. Glad to see a pro attitude has delivered for you. What great validation of your true talent! Happy for you. Congratulations!👍
Oh, and I love this interview. No excuses, rock n roll - nerves and ready for action. As you said, shows you care. Loved the passion and openness. Great to hear - breath of fresh air.
Lionel, LS, Talbot Cox and the rest of the team congratulations, yes.
The most undoubtedly is the swim mark. Being less than a minute from the top 3-8 is profound. Ive mentioned the need for "open water swim sessions" still think that ...This oceanside swim tho showed a new element of progression!!! 🏊♂️💪
Thanks! I love your storytelling about the race! I love learning from your ace experience champ. Congrats, champ!
Super proud of you man! All the work and discipline is paying off
Did him dirty with the zooming into the pee spot 😅 11:51
he zoomed into his wedding ring
In tears unashamedly...way to rock Oceanside LS! And OH HEY, cannot wait for IMLP! Will Becky be there to support you, too--I hope?! God bless your family's journey, Megan 🙏🙏
Love how acutely aware Lionel is!
Lionel’s view on what’s ‘tough’ is one of the many reasons he’s such an inspiration!!… so grounded, focussed, determined and despite all that, knows what’s truly important in life!…
Having said that…. Go win the worlds this year, Lionel!!
💪🏼 🙌🏼
Awesome recap Lionel.. sounds like you should add to your mantra, NO LIMITS & NO EXCUSES… I’ll buy some!!
Great to see LS get up with a win, well done bud! Although I do giggle a bit, pro's having a sook about how they have to work hard and all the stress. Take the weekend warriors, work a 9 to 5 then fit all three sports in around everything else and still come in sub 10hrs.
No limits .. congratulations Oceanside IM70.3 🙏 Thank you for sharing
So inspiring and honest. I just want to finish my first sprint tri this weekend. Can't wait for st george.
This video is 34 minutes of wonderful content. I love it through and through!
Cool calm and collected. Well done Lionel.
No podcast? Dang, I would love to hear a Sanders and Rich Roll interview. Rich Roll is a master craftsman for interviews.
So happy for this win for Lionel!
Well done Lionel, that wasn’t just a pb for you. It was for sure one the best all time triathlon performances of all competitors. Real Peak Performance. Maintain your momentum.
So happy for you and your team, Lionel IS back 🔥! We hardly believe you still can beat the young fast guys ! You are the 🐐 in our sport 💪
You always keep it real. Great race Lionel!
I think that you now have balance in your life with Erin and Levi, keep your team as they will stop you from burning out where you don't have the numb feeling, I'm so happy for you, when you hit the run say in your mind, run to Erin and Levi running to get to them...Good luck buddy
Wow, what an inspiration 🏊🚲🏃♂️ Cannot wait to see what the season brings 😉
Hell yeah! So inspiring. I like this new post-race podcast style.
Excellent raw and honest interview. The best and most in depth interview of any athlete I had ever heard. Down to earth which resonates with everyday people like ourselves ✅
This is your year
You got this
No limits is now “no excuses”. Go Lionel!!!
I love his attitude. You can see he truly loves the sport!
"I intend to do Ironman Lake Placid" - the words I've been waiting to hear! See you at IMLP!
This is exactly why I love Lion - for being honest to him self and being able to speak it up in such a laconic manner ! For appreciating support team and especially Erica because this is true!
Thanks for the love to this Journey ❤
Trust the process!
Can't wait to see you in St George! Go Lionel!
Thank you for your words. ❤
“They’re finally gonna let me out of my cage”. Classic Lionel quote - congrats sir!!!🎉
Congrats on the win!
No matter how this all unfolds, the remainder of your pro career and what lies after, I want so want to be reading the book, Lionel Sanders, pursuit of greatness! You are an inspiration in sport and life!
Cool version of Lionel. Congratulations!
Exceptional, inspirational! On to the next 🥇
Great race and great interview from a Professional UA-camr
Dude, you are such an honest, authentic person. Love watching your videos and I really wish you, finish Kona on P1.
Great vid and interview Talbot fomat is excellent 👌
45 seconds, everything has been said. So inspirational 🤩
great performance and quodos for the focus, eyes on the target
Great race, it was a pleasure to witness your finish. I’d love to see you on the Rich Roll podcast.
What a win and great shared thoughts
Loved the new format
Fantastic race where you beat all sorts of great triathletes including highly touted short course experts and a Kona winner.
I must confess that after your pre-race video where you really put yourself down, I was a bit worried if you'd ever be at the pointy end of a high-tier race again.
Mr. No Limits is back! Let's goooooooo
The results of intensity and consistency!!
Congrats 🥇
What a honest interview 🙏 box office 👊🏻
Love, love this interview! Congratulations Lionel! Can't wait to follow your season.
I said you will win Oceanside. I say here you will Kona. From my mouth to heaven. Good luck!
So looking forward to watching st George and even more so to Lake Placid! I want to see Lionel go for this title.
Congrats 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for this excellent post race chat Talbot and for sharing the most recent photos of Lionel at Oceanside. I have a comment I hope is of use to Lionel and the “Team”. If he wants to win Kona and avoid bonking and walking my understanding is that he needs to have a very high fat oxidation rate. This is something we’ve never seen him acknowledge or talk about (I think), though in the video there is a brief mention of fat adaptation when he didn’t take the pre race gel.
I’m part way through a transition to being fuelled mainly by fat not carbs and am following the likes of Professor Tim Noakes (South Africa), Richard Smith (Keto-Pro UK) and Dan Plews (Coach of Chelsea S).
In the attached S-Fuels video there is a moment where Lionel is mocked for walking Kona again. It’s not an insult, it seems they would much prefer it if Lionel performed better at Ironman. To do so he apparently needs to burn mainly fat. I appreciate this may now be in hand, if so, perhaps include it in more detail in a future video? If not, then I fear he may not reach his full potential at the longer distance. The attached video also mentions research that shows it’s probably better for performance to start a race/session fasted or with protein rather than carbs (maybe not taking the gel was a blessing ☺️).
I’m a huge fan, I’ve met Lionel a couple of times in Finland last August and Oro Valley Aquatic Center late last year, I’m so incredibly happy for him after Saturday and would love to see him win the inaugural Ironman Pro Series. Hope this is of interest! Best Wishes, Sandy (from Scotland 🏴)

A win for Lionel is a win for triathlon. 🐐
Hope to see those gritted teeth holding the finish tape numerous times this year.
Well done Lionel 🏅
Nice one Lionel ! You can win Kona.
Proud of this guy right here to fight back against everyone saying "he's done". He's not done...and he just let everyone know that fact!!
So cool! Get it Lionel!🎉
thanks for sharing and congratulations!!
Definitely need a Rich Roll podcast
Great format
Great race , wonderful video .. like the new format
He is the one and Lionel! Time for the next No Limits shirt ...
This kind of great and even more highly honest stuff comes only from Lionel in the pro scene. Listen carefully and learn! And most important: ENJOY! Thanks for sharing! ✌😊👋
