    Probably wouldn't hurt to take her for a spin, then change it again until you get all that nasty contaminated oil out of there, being its a simple process, if she was mine, picking up a 09 vtx 1300T this week. Nice video/Nice bike!

    I have the same bike, color and everything. I have the 1300C. Greatest bike I’ve ever owned. 50,000 no problems runs like new. And no oil tracking system like Harley Davison.

    From the manual ride the moto first to warm the fluid. Slowly turn rear wheel to drain all the old oil. I did notice plenty of extra comes out when you roll the bike forward. Place moto on its side stand on level surface to fill. This is hard to do straight from the bottle because you have to get the nozzle in pretty deep to get past the shelf inside there. Next time I’m going to fill it with a turkey baster or something.
    Update: I bought a proper oil can for the job

      Lots of gear oil comes in bottles with a spout, too.

    Note that the socket size for the bolts is 17mm (not mentioned). Best to warm the oil some with a 3-5 min ride so all the 'crap' is stirred up better to flow out, and rotate the wheel a few turns while draining to get it all out. Cute dog added some entertainment. Thanks for not adding annoying music, like many of these vids do. 👍

    The top nut is easy to crack the integrated shoulder washer portion by over tightening it. So be extra careful tightening the top bolt or it will crack!

    You should drain it on the side stand so you get it all out first, then lift it on a level stand to refill it.

    • @farooqkhan3729

      bingo - surprised no one else noticed that. Must tilt on side stand to drain fully. In fact, even rotate wheel - more old oil comes out.

    The instructions say to place your bike on a side stand on a flat surface. It does not say to be positioned straight. If you position your bike straight and fill the lower limit of the oil inlet, the amount of oil will increase, what do you think?

    Nice bike! I inherited one of these bikes recently 06 vtx1300r good condition w 11k miles stock. Just had Honda dealership did oil change, radiator flush, brake lines flush and new fuel tubings plus getting the carb rebuild and the fuel tank resealed. The plan is to sell it u think I’d have a hard time selling this bike in its current condition? I’m a total noob when it comes to motorcycle nice Camaro btw! 👍🏽

      The only issue you may run into is timing since its right before Christmas, but other than that you shouldn't have any problem selling it !! I sold mine withing a few days of posting it! And thanks man I appreciate it, i just put a fresh LS3 from blueprint in it, I dropped a valve in the stock motor 😅🤦‍♂️

    I have a 2015 Stateline 1300. First bike. Would you change this oil the same frequency as the engine oil? What would be the mileage you would recommend on these changes?

    • @dailygarageadventures2848
      @dailygarageadventures2848  2 роки тому +1

      I believe honda recommends every 15k miles for the rear diff/drive oil. For the engine oil I usually do about every 2 to 3 thousand miles depending on how hard I've been on the bike
