@@alexamuenyou can’t make your own sunscreen. Mixing zinc oxide does not make it sunscreen. There’s proportions, film formers, many other things to consider as well as testing. So, no, you can’t make your sunscreen- that’s just science.
@@nickilema1074 sure, I get non nano zinc oxide from Amazon (from a reputable supplier) or a health food store, the same for the organic carrot oil and castor oil. I mix the carrot oil slowly into the zinc powder with a brush till it gets like a thick whipped cream, add a few drops of the caster oil, that’s it, super simple :). Depending on the time of the month I can get drier skin, so I tend to add a bit more caster oil when my skin is dry. I like to apply it on damp clean skin, over rice water is particularly good :). The mix can separate a bit, but that’s normal, just stir it in again. I’d keep the oils in the fridge if you’re in a hot climate to keep them fresh. I also tend to make enough for around a week, again to keep the oils fresh. I have a small dark blue glass pot I keep it in, but I’ve heard of other people putting the mix in aluminium paint tubes so they can carry it around easier. Everyone has different skin needs so I’d play around a bit to find the right mix for you. I personally use carrot seed oil as a base as it’s a “dry” oil so sinks in quickly as doesn’t make you feel “oily”. Other good oils are Argan, prickly pear, or sea buckthorn (careful as can stain) . It really depends on your particular skin and therapeutic need. If your using it as a sun screen rather then a bedtime treatment, just make sure your skin is hydrated with a splash of water/toner/moisturiser before you apply the cream and you’ve rubbed it in before applying any make up. I personally find it’s a good base, looks like my pores have disappeared on my nose 🤣💖. I mention adding the toner / serum or moisturiser first as the oils should be the last step to hold it in, also carrot oil on its own can be a drying oil (who would have thought 😅). Anyway good luck in finding the perfect mix for you 🙏🍀🤞.
Hi Dr. I have never really struggled with face outbreaks. I have an outbreak on my chin which looks like almost a diaper rash since Jan, what can I do? I have tried cleansers etc.
Do you have any recommendations for people with long-term seborrheic dermatitis/psoriasis (in-office, medication, lifestyle changes)? Ive seen dermatologists years ago who recommended topical Txs (everything from head and shoulders, selsun blue, nizoral, tar based shampoos, salicylic acid shampoos - only some of which relieved some discomfort but unfortunately didnt help the scalp itself). I was on a course of Acutane in my early 20s (scalp issues pre-exist this) for acne, but while i was on the medication, my scalp issues miraculously cleared up entirely (returned about 6 months after, and worse condition). My mum tells me she had similar issues in her teens and had a dermatologist do some sort of light therapy on the scalp that cleared it up. Would love to hear your thoughts or any pointers to treatments would be appreciated
I have this annoying condition too, I scratch so hard that I make myself bleed! I was prescribed a mild steroid leave in for 30 mins lotion then shampoo as normal which helped, but only when I kept it up regularly in between I always use a mild clarifying shampoo with salicylic acid with a silicone scrubby scalp washing brush that I absolutely LOOOVE! and always follow up with your regular conditioner, avoiding the scalp. Hope that helps.. ❤

Hi! My sister has eczema (usually not on the face) and sensitive skin. Lately she has struggled with having eczema-like sores on her cheeks, and when she has tried a bit thicker, calming moisturizers, and creams with zink, it has often gotten worse. Why is this?
Girl! You are speaking to ME! I’m in 11% humidity in CO mtns and it’s cold and windy and my sensitive skin gets too dry and then will reward me with a blemish now and then. My skin peels and just sucks up any moisture I can give it. Any suggestions?

Has anyone heard of coating your face with Vaseline at bedtime for dry skin? I live on Long Island. Our winters are cold and windy . I already have normal/Yes dry skin so in the winter, it really takes a beating . My grandmother used to apply a thin layer of “ petroleum jelly” all over her face when she went to bed. And yes, she slept on her back… There was a dermatologist on UA-cam, who said It is petroleum that was one of the worst things we can do for our skin . She stated the reason is because it is petroleum … we are putting toxic chemicals on our face..🫢 Now I don’t know what to do ..
I’ve read that the Vaseline and Petroleum is different in the breakdown of it in Vaseline. I’ve heard you can use Aquafor as well unless you’re allergic to Lanolin then use Vaseline. I use both for under my eyes, my lips and my feet with socks on at night. I don’t use it all over my face because I have combination skin and will wake up a greasy mess 😂 I use a thin layer under my eyes and I pat it on so I’m not pulling at my under eye skin too much since it’s the thinnest in the under eye area.
Yes! This is what i want to know too. I have combo skin also but im confused about what my skin type is exactly. Unless its just called combo skin and that's it. Idk this is all confusing
Zinc oxide sucks the life out of my skin. I am perplexed that it is always touted as so gentle? And my skin is not dry. Can’t even use sunscreen with it. Makes my skin peel off
And right this moment, it just clicked why my oily skin is appreciating all the hydrating products. Well, I live in the desert with 0% humidity most of the year, of course it needs a drink of water
If the dandruff is not dry maybe it is a condition called sebherroic eczema, caused by a fungus. It can be treated quite easily with special shampoos like Terzolin (at least it is called like that in my country.)
This is ONE of the best things I’ve learned from you Dr I…. I use this all the time never realizing how I was damaging the barrier of my skin

I have bad pigmentation since I had my daughter 20 years ago. I just cant get rid of it. Any sugestions. I am very strict with my skin care routine. I never miss a step or day in my skin care.
What do you think about the water + moisturizer+ occlusive combo????
Can you please make a video on affordable nontoxic sunscreens? In my 20s and wanna get started on the spf
I make my own with non nano zinc oxide and carrot oil, but I’m naturally very fair so I don’t look too pale with it. (I got allergic to various ones so looked up the safest). Good luck whatever you decide.
@@alexamuenyou can’t make your own sunscreen. Mixing zinc oxide does not make it sunscreen. There’s proportions, film formers, many other things to consider as well as testing. So, no, you can’t make your sunscreen- that’s just science.
@@alexamuencan u please share your recipe step by step
What ingredients do we look for when avoiding steroids
Hello, avoid daily use of any steroids that could be in a diaper cream, specifically hydrocortisone.
What is the name of that cream you are using?
Hi Dr. I have never really struggled with face outbreaks. I have an outbreak on my chin which looks like almost a diaper rash since Jan, what can I do? I have tried cleansers etc.
What is your skin type? I’m always dry and dehydrated so I want to try this. But if you run oily it won’t work on me
Does some pigmentation stay permanently??
I have large pores will this block pores?
Doesn’t it clog pores and lead to black heads ?
Wow smooth and soft glasse skin. Well done daring . Cute site look👑️🐧👍😊 I am ,sri lanka hige education girl . 😙🥺
Silly question but how does a person properly wash their face?
Hey my partner has dark circles under eyes. He has not fair complexion but normal skin texture. Apart this, he has malasma or pigmentation of checks .
What are uour thought on cold cream?
How about diaper rash cream for acne prone skin
Is exfoliating good for sensitive, extremely dry desert like skin with a few broken blood vessels ?
What's the best skincare routine for people in humid environments? I'm from Oregon and we have tons of rain here but I only ever hear people talking about skincare routine for dry environments
Oh my god nice!! Im from Oregon also! You said you're in an area with a lot of rain...i am also. Im in the valley. As soon as i read that part of your comment i wondered if you're in the valley or the coast. 😃
@@kittycat5919 I'm from the Corvallis area!
@@jessbach4795 Holy S are you serious??!! Lol. Wow what a coincidence cause that's where I've been for several years now!!
Hi. Do you have examples for an zink oxide baby creme without steroids?
She recommends triple paste diaper rash ointment :)
Thank you!
@@SarahKat329I thought she used the cream and not the ointment.
@kathyg3353 You are correct. I am unaware that there is both a creme and an ointment but yes, Triple paste creme for sure. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and it has helped tremendously!
What kind do you use?
How to remove light spots on lips?
Does slugging work ?
Could desitin be used ?
How to determine your skin type? Acknowledging there will be variation with climate/weather/season/hormones etc and that it might not be set in stone. Thanks
I applied the diaper rash cream on my face after my night time skincare. Than I went out to pick up dinner, forgetting that I have a thick cream on my face like a white mask. You can just imagine the stares I get 😊
Lol nice 😸
@@kittycat5919 i thot so too hahahahaa
Could you use zinc based sunscreen the same way?
I’ve always heard wearing sunscreen at night when going to bed isn’t good for your skin. I’ve read and watched videos that it’s important to take off your sunscreen when doing your nighttime skin care.
What brand of diaper rash cream do you use? Thank you for educating me with your professional education.
Triple Paste cream is what she's using.

It’s quite hard to follow. But will try

I have oily sensitive skin and i use retinol ..! I cnt use heavy moisturiser as it makes it more greasy any suggestions for oily skin
Hi! My sister has eczema (usually not on the face) and sensitive skin. Lately she has struggled with having eczema-like sores on her cheeks, and when she has tried a bit thicker, calming moisturizers, and creams with zink, it has often gotten worse. Why is this?
Is sudocrem okay to use ?
Which one do you use?
Girl! You are speaking to ME! I’m in 11% humidity in CO mtns and it’s cold and windy and my sensitive skin gets too dry and then will reward me with a blemish now and then. My skin peels and just sucks up any moisture I can give it. Any suggestions?
Binge watch her full length videos. She has a few that talk about sealing in moisture on skin, but also on healing & preventing cracking lips. I live in CO also. Her videos have been a lifesaver! Don’t forget to checkout her vids on vitamin c to help assist healing & prevention of further sun damage if you are an heavy outdoors enthusiast like the majority of Colorado residents. ❤ If you’re in the metro area check out “B Theory Aesthetics”.
And yes, she slept on her back…
There was a dermatologist on UA-cam, who said It is petroleum that was one of the worst things we can do for our skin .
She stated the reason is because it is petroleum … we are putting toxic chemicals on our face..🫢
Now I don’t know what to do ..
How do you figure out your skin type properly if it’s combination?
Yes! This is what i want to know too. I have combo skin also but im confused about what my skin type is exactly. Unless its just called combo skin and that's it. Idk this is all confusing
Using any product with zink in it will dry the shit out of my skin. 🤷🏼♀️
真的建議霸軒一定要先做功課,凍卵可是很痛的。又要打針又要做很多手術,小美身體又不是很好,會不忍心的!
Zinc oxide sucks the life out of my skin. I am perplexed that it is always touted as so gentle? And my skin is not dry. Can’t even use sunscreen with it. Makes my skin peel off
Whqt if youre dry in a relatively humid environment? (UK is humid but i dont understand how other than when its harsh summer)
And right this moment, it just clicked why my oily skin is appreciating all the hydrating products. Well, I live in the desert with 0% humidity most of the year, of course it needs a drink of water
I bought this diaper cream from your recommendation and it gave me pimples above my eyebrows…. How are we meant to use it haha
My 13yr daughter has dandruff and she has dandruff on her eyebrows , what is the cause of that and how can I get it removed?
😮
If the dandruff is not dry maybe it is a condition called sebherroic eczema, caused by a fungus. It can be treated quite easily with special shampoos like Terzolin (at least it is called like that in my country.)
@@mirafeld1828 she tried alot of shampoo’s even went to the doctor but still no difference
