I left the UK 16 years ago for many of the same reasons as you. One of the best things I ever did. I knew it was going the way it has gone, I tried to explain to my mother ''The Titanic has hit the iceberg and it has started to sink, it is only a matter of time until people start drowning, I am abandoning ship now before I drown.'' I feel anyone who could leave should.
Unfortunately most people live in a dream world with their head in the sand. All once great empires ultimately fall. It’s social evolution and the mighty U.K. has lost its identity. History always repeats itself over time.
Can't agree more! I left London nearly 9 fantastic yrs, work & enjoy more than 30 countries thus far & saving 2 to 3x more than when I had my 9-5 back in London!!! The world's way more than just the UK, tho I still visit once in a while but only in the Summer as no way anyone should endure the miserable winter in London / UK when u can hv the Caribbean where I am now. I'm Spanish living in the UK. When I left Spain nearly 6 years ago , I was running away from pretty much the same things you've outlined here. I'm leaving the UK in 2024. Had enough. Where to? I still don't know. Fully agree with the immigration point since we're having the same issue across Europe. I'm not against immigration (I am an immigrant myself!) but the mass inmigration that doesn't get checked as you said and mainly comes from countries we don't share any values/cultural traits with. This inevitably, creates a cultural shock and conflict in society.
I share similar views. I’m (in essence) an immigrant myself in Thailand. But the difference is, I respect the Thai traditions, values and culture. I’m learning the language and respect the country as a whole, whilst trying to integrate with the local people. Something most immigrants don’t do in the U.K.
Nah, the Islam is not the problem, actually the misunderstanding of Islam from some Muslims IS the problem. Plus, don't forget good amount of brits and other nations are Muslims too.
@@mixman2007m honey, no one “misunderstands” Islam. It’s as clear as day. Anti-women? Islamic inheritance law (faraid) grants women only half of a male sibling inheritance. Also, Prophet Muhammad did say women have half the intelligence as males. Women can only divorce under three criteria, whereas men can divorce anytime, for any reason. Triple talaq. Sounds like what Andrew Tate and his Islam is! Antiquated? Yes. Many scientific errors in the Quran. For example, “Let people then consider what they were created from! They were created from a spurting fluid, stemming from between the backbone and the ribcage.” (Surah At-Tariq 86:5 -7) First of all, this verse is scientifically inaccurate and wrong; Sperm is produced in the testes. So some say the verse refers to semen. The main function of the prostate gland is to secrete an alkaline fluid that comprises approximately 70% of the seminal volume. The secretions produce lubrication and nutrition for the sperm. But the ribs are too high to say "the prostate is between the backbone & the ribs." What about anti-tolerance? Yes. Prophet Muhammad destroyed idols at the Kaaba - the 🕋 used to be a polytheist temple! Could this be why Muslims destroyed many Hindu temples when they invaded India?
While Brits are scrambling to get out of the UK,foreigners are storming in!The thousands of foreigners who are already in rich France desperately want to ditch it to reach paradise UK,lol!
Very simple to explain - because of the "chosen people money grabber liars" what their own world! That's why they're going to destroy all withe nation's!
There's no paradise here anymore they all better realize that it's a complete shit show and poor as so don't come there no housing no money no drs no schools no dentists no hotels just a diverse hell hole of nothing Ness
I'm 43 and lived in the UK all my life. I hate it here and would leave tomorrow if I could. It seems the Government don't want people to aspire to success but instead want to tax you to death. No wonder companies don't want to do business here. The UK was regarded as the worst country in the western world to bring kids up in after the US. I have always said I reckon the UK will be more like a 3rd world country by the end of the decade. The system in the UK doesn't actually encourage people to work and when all you here is teenagers stabbing eachother to death, then no wonder all the decent people are leaving. Immigration is out of control to the point I feel like I am not even in my own country anymore. The place is a shitehole.
You don't need to renounce the citizenship, you can just change to non-domicile status (so you don't have to pay the UK taxes), which means living more than 6 months outside of the UK.
Best not think that's a good idea. Tax dodging anywhere puts you on a watch list just under the level of terrorist. They will eventually stop you at some checkpoint, or just show up one random Wednesday. Ask the retired Dutch coffeeshop millionaire who got cute, until the Thais handed him 100 years all on the basis of a simple letter from the Dutch authorities trying to have him sent home. And by the time the Dutch King had intervened, he'd served 8 long years in the Bangkok Hilton. His Thai trophy wife was jailed too, just because they can, and his paradise mansion and possessions seized.
I moved back to the UK in September of 2022 for family reasons and I 10000000% regret it. I live in London and the cost is one thing, but having to fight for a GP appointment, not being able to see the dentist, the poor infrastructure like the tube that's constantly breaking down or trains getting cancelled, or the signal failures...🙄, the CRIME, and the FILTHY London streets have been getting to me. I absolutely hate it here. I left in 2014 when things were decent, visited briefly in 2016 when things were still decent and then came back last year when things were absolutely shite and it has been HARD to readjust. I was living in Asia and I'm planning on moving back next year. The UK is falling to pieces. Even stuff like clothes and food, companies are cutting corners and the quality of stuff has plummeted. I miss the FRESH, cheap and delicious food I used to eat in Asia. Everything is just loaded with sugar here
I have been in china/japan and taiwan since 2019. Not been back to the UK in that time, but I read about it from people like yourself. I definitely have a better quality of life here in all areas you mentioned.
I love this. I've been feeling lack of motivation recently. I have a good quality of life in the UK and own my own home, but the weather makes me miserable and people have a very closed mindset. It feels like everyone is in a bubble and reject ideas or thoughts from anyone who is different. This video gave me some inspiration.
Totally agree. The Brits tend to have a very closed mindset and fail to embrace change. The weather in Thailand where I'm based massively helps with my mental health.
You took the words out of my mouth thanks Pink. I been feeling positive and upbeat and low and depressed all at the same time lately. I'm happy with the good life I got but lately I been wanting more than what I already have and got. Because everytime I got out somewhere for a nice meal out or outdoor experience out I feel good around it and about it. And as soon as I get the tube home I feel that all time low and depression again. Don't know what to do other than keep going. 16/10/2023 8:51 AM
Totally agree mate. As a UK citizen from the South of England your right about cost of living, it's insane there. I'm currently in Vietnam. Can rent a massive apartment here for 1/5 of the cost.
Not a fan De Nang myself. But I like Ho Chi Minh. There’s a great gym there called Saigon Spirts Club. Will base myself around district 7 for a few months to train. How long are you out where for?
@@mrdamianking SSC is class, great facilities there. I'm in Hanoi until next weekend, then heading through Laos, Cambodia and will settle in Thailand for a bit. Maybe see you there!
Lots of Westerners are moving to SE Asia as they realize they can live for much less, enjoy paradise settings, amazing street food, friendly people, safety, constant adventure, many other expats to meet etc. Much better lifestyle for your soul.
I have seen these "Westerners" in SE Asia picking up young "chicks". In the west they would be on the scrapheap not even a second glance would come their way.. In their 60's plus, stomachs protruding over baggy shorts, lining the "girlie" bars swilling even more carbs. They are told they are handsome by young 20 somethings yet in reality they are nothing more to them than a glorified ATM.
My gf is in Borneo I hope to join her in a few years when I get my pension at the end of this year I spent a month out there Much more relaxed friendly folk weather to die for cheap food and no shit Gov ripping you off
I'm a Brit-American, living in the States. As there are no UK tax or filing obligations if not living in the UK, it's rather pointless to renounce your UK citizenship. You may have no intention of returning to the UK, but why give up an option ..... IF ever you might need it?
Should at some point in the future ( the original country ) has compulsory military service you're likely to be caught on the wrong foot. Immigrants coming to the UK are hated, think if they could retain their original citizenship and yet reside in the country how much more despised they would be !
100% agree, it seems in 2023 UK that everyone is after your money. Mortgages now sky high, council tax cost a fortune, food prices insane, eating out costs a fortune, taxed to the hilt - in fact many things you do for leisure / enjoyment costs a fortune.
@@mrdamianking yes that's true - there's a lot less police now. I used to work a very late shift in the mid 90s - finished work around 3am - I would get pulled by the police twice a week just for being out so late driving. Back on 3am finishes again for the past year and it's very rare you see a police car on the beat.
I'm 42 - I never had the sense to buy a house. I earn about 40k a year. The rental market has gone so bad I've moved back in with my parents. I'm PAYE but have had a demand for an additional 2k tax by January. HMRC website tells me i've paid 8.5k tax. That's just tax - without NI 3.5k, student loan 1.7k. that's nearly 14k in deductions. So i'm 42, living with parents, saving to pay the tax man. I'm really done with it all. The UK is sick. I'd probably be better off leaving and coming back in on an illegal boat or claiming benefits. I'd leave were it not for my parents and best friend.
Hi mate I bought a apartment near alicante for under 45000 euros council tax 130 euros a year electricity 40 euros a month water 40 euros every 3 months amazing place and over 300 days of sunshine 🌞 a year
I’m in the process of trying to sort out a business visa or education visa to stay for longer without popping in and out. The lifestyle in Thailand suits me. Love the place.
Money isn’t the issue but 600k for a visa that I’ll only use for a year or two just doesn’t seem worth it (to me). If you’re staying longer term than I see more value in it. Did you find it easy to obtain? Also, what’s the cost involved and how likely is it you can extend it to 20 years?
@20thCB , while that is true the world is changing sufficiently to the point that people need to get outside their comfort zones of the West and see that there are now many nations that have great economic data and are poised to have a good future. I've already built up enough capital so there is no point copying what I'm doing but I think people in their wealth building phase need to look for places that have young educated populations, hopefully resource rich and have a low debt to GDP ratio. The West with it's expensive real estate, high cost of living, high progressive tax rates and capital gains taxes nullify the benefits of larger incomes and make it near on impossible to build wealth.
Well said, Sir ! I'm an ex romanian police officer with British citizenship ! 13 years after I moved to the UK, I can only submit to every word that was said.❤❤❤
Sadly in the uk, the little man has been punished enough, I am looking at getting out, I’m done, as an engineer we are always working on a shoestring, it’s well and truly broken.
Sadly, it has been for a while now. The UK government supports corporations because they are full of yes men who pay their taxes on time and don’t question things. Hope you manage to exit the U.K. and prosper Graeme 👍🏻
Agreed, although I find the wages here definitely offset the cost of living issues that are in the UK. Wages here are a bit higher on average (even for unskilled jobs) and cost of living outside of Dublin is similar to that of the UK. Although our Road Tax is higher and we have to pay for bins (and LPT), we don't have council tax to contend with.
I am 35 years old and left the UK around 8 years ago. I moved to New Zealand and managed to get a permanent residency visa, so I can come-and-go as I wish. I am a fully qualified and experienced brewer/winemaker. I have very recently come back to see my parents and work a vintage while over here. ... I was considering staying but having seen what this place has become while I have been away that is not happening barring a disaster in the family. I will book a flight home after the vintage is done, spend Christmas with my parents since I've come all this way. After that, in the new year... I'm off again. This country has fallen, and no government can fix it. If you are young and able it is time to be brave and venture out into the world.
Last time i was in western europe including England i couldn't help but feel a profound sense of doom hanging everywhere. Tough times ahead and with the immigration and loss of unity probaly wont recover anytime soon.

Great content mate. A great book to read written a while ago called “The Sovereign Individual” predicted people would get fed up with being treated as milk cows by their governments. Plenty of countries around the world are competing for your business and you don’t need to stay somewhere just because you were born there.
UK fucking sucks! Lived here my entire life in London. I am a NHS Nurse, have been for 10+ years but finally had enough of this absolute dump of a country. I can't afford a house, I'm miserable 7 months of the year with the weather, my wages are crap. I got my Australian permanent residence last year and leaving in 4 months.
I recently found out that England and Wales are basically the only places on earth to have leasehold property. You can literally be thrown out of a flat that you own outright, if you can't afford the service charge/ground rent. It's just awful.
l agree, uk is finished as a country of opportunity. Brexit was a wake up call. Insular mindset, l retired to España over twenty years ago…I’m not looking to work of course, however living in a kinder climate just makes you feel good…not to mention adding to life expectancy…

Bro...as an American, your country sounds just like ours!! All the crap you mentioned about your country sounds just like ours. I agree with you 100% I am thinking about moving out to another country. Any suggestion?
Depends on what you want? Some people move to other countries as the cost of living is cheaper, whereas others that’s not the primary concern. I’ve got mates who reside in Dubai and love it. Thailand is popular and there’s places like Mexico and South America which is on your doorstep. The biggest challenge most people have is visa’s. Where were you thinking?
It is worse for Americans because no matter where they live in the world if they remain a US citizen, they have to file their taxes with the IRS. It is the only country that does this but apparently Australia is also thinking of doing it now as well. The only way out of it is to renounce citizenship.
@@johnmknox I think all western countries are going to do it eventually because of the ease of citizen flight. Thailand is teaming with westerners who no longer pay home taxes while still carrying western passports. It is not sustainable.
Love your points man. I went back for 2 years to the UK, during Covid. My mum passed and I had to go back - I had been abroad 8 years prior to that! It was a struggle for me in UK, all the points you mentioned I totally agree with and that thing about the English mentality ESPECIALLY it's so spot on man. I started doing some counseling training whilst I was back there and even in THAT setting that closed mentality was rife. Everything is this competition, everyone clings to theirs and has a fuck you mindset, I just hate it but it's like all around..... you articulated that perfectly. I'm back in Vietnam again where I used to live and I just cannot see how moving back to UK would ever be a good idea. I miss things about London but overall it's dire.... I have no prospects, it's depressing as hell, can't afford housing, political correctness has gone legit insane, etc. As someone else commented I think it needs to take a serious, serious state of affairs and complete revolution before there is genuine change and it stops going down the toilet. And who knows when that's gonna happen...... Thanks for the video
I'm glad you liked the video, Jon. It saddens me how the U.K. has lost its identity. It saddens me that in my hometown of London, I’m now a minority. But if you mention that the snowflakes call you a r*cist. More worrying is the crime. What’s the point of living in London and paying through the nose for property, buying a nice car and wearing a nice watch for some scumbag to rob you blind. It’s not just the UK it’s Western society. It’s no better in other parts of Europe. I was in Vietnam a few months ago. Lovely place. I hope you enjoy the content I’ve got coming out 👍🏻

I tried starting a business as a sound engineer, but that failed so 6 months later had to get a job. tried a few businesses in the past, but now just writing music while working so then can quit the job, and move abroad somewhere where the weather doesn't go from freezing cold to roasting hot. Some countries get hotter, but they don't feel as bad. UK 25 degrees feels like 30,
@@mrdamianking I am doing. I have a bad back too. Not all times. I thought it was fixed while I’m lockdown because pain went away and I became very active, then started working and bad back again. Im so glad you mentioned the positivity in America. The UK despises entrepreneurs unfortunately. There are so many UK people in sunny African countries.
Great video with alot of very sad but true reasons. As a UK small business owner I wish I had more passionate driven people to collab with. People are too scared to build alongside others sadly.
I worked in the SME and start up space a few years back as a business coach for Virgin startups. I found many U.K. businesses have a closed mindset. Whereas the Americans are a lot more open to collabs and encourage each other. Let’s be honest the U.K. government does nothing to help small businesses
@malemastery They don't do much to help small business sadly no. Most likely because they can't donate millions to the party. Let's not even get me started on the things that are wrong here lol
it feels so sad what is happening right now (east west north south doesn't matter) People's minds are closing back up, into this "survival" primal mindset where "can't help others because they are competition" mindset... After a good 20 or 30 years of opening up, it felt like life on earth would turn into an utopia, but it closed back so freaking fast... Now, people only care about their closed social circles and that's it.... Not sure how this happened even with the internet around... I consider myself fortunate for never using social media, I don't even use my phone, it's basically a toy for emergency calls... I've been noticing that people that overindulge in social media are the ones who keep the entire day browsing the same social circle of people all day long, barely any interactions with strangers outside that circle... And then you have people like us the ones who enjoy making new connections but we don't really know how to gather our own groups... Collectivists VS Individualists
I think that's very true for the UK. But then again I think as a nation have always been like that. A very closed mindset, especially when it comes to business. Never using social media - UA-cam is social media.

Walked up the streets of Glasgow city centre today and the energy is low and dead. The crime and drugs that riddle the streets have infested every corner. I didn’t see one healthy, happy person today. Not 1. The vibrancy has gone from this city altogether. I married a Russian girl and we’re moving to Paris next month. I’ve watched this video everyday for the past 5-6 days. Probably on my tenth listen I could recite it verbatim. I traveled a lot last year and realise that I have outgrown this place forever and I will be walking away from the negativity and weakness that has riddled this country to the core these last few years. They can keep it. I am leaving it with love! 🙏🏻
It’s sad to see, but everything you say is correct. City centres have become cesspits of crime and antisocial behaviour. Coastal towns have declined even more. Congratulations on taking action, and I wish you all the best in your endeavours, brother
I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. My family left UK in 2018 and shifted to Oman for a variety of reasons like drudgery of life, surrounded by toxic people who were meant to be supportive of us like family members, the thought that it's a risky environment for our upbringing. I genuinely wanted to go back because I was an 11 year old kid who enjoyed the sight of plane spotting, nice scenic cityscapes and I liked the food and our house there. Well it's been ages now and when Covid hit, it prolonged the amount of time that hadn't been spent on visiting the UK. Of course I would love to visit UK and even my family would but the tickets are so expensive even for 1 person especially due to fluctuations. But tbh, I don't mind it now because I am happy and learned to accept where I am. Plus I think about the benefits I am getting of living in Oman that I wouldn't get in UK like adequate sunlight and vitamin D, so much serenity and a lack of crime, unrest as compared to the UK politics.
Thanks for your comment. I think western society has fed us many lies over the years. It promotes getting into debt, overwhelming us with technology and gives many people a false narrative of what freedom really is. How is life in Oman? I’m interested to know.

At the young and tender age of 21 I left the UK in 1970. I left for many of the same reasons you mentioned. Even back then I saw the writing on the wall, although it wouldn't have been as bad as it is now. My advice to any young person is get out of the UK. Yes, it is daunting to get on a plane and go. However, if you stay positive and are prepared to have a go, just know that you will be okay. My advice is do something like a bar course, just an extra skill you can always fall back on. I was a chef, just out of my apprenticeship which put me in good stead. NOW, retired, I was born to retire, loving it!
So many truths in there! I used to be a relatively low income 9-5 employee. During inflation the company gave us 3 times 500£ as a bonus to help us, and government literally took all of it through tax! i didnt get a single penny out of it! Its thief! Now im a day trader striving to build enough income to be independent and leave back to Greece where im from for good.
Left the UK when I was 25, seems like it is much worse now than it was then. I will only ever go back for a holiday. 47 now and still loving my life abroad (Thailand) and saving quite enough for later in life
Tremendously delivered Damien. Everything that is wrong with the country. Worked all my life for to build up a private pension for my families wellbeing , to have it hammered with tax.
i know EXACTLY wht you mean about the negativity and lack of collaberation/community here in the UK. I have been isolated or left to feel like alien, when I tried on different occasions to give a joke or be positive... they found it repulsing.. I never understood it. So I have had to adopt and become more ''shell-like'' which affect my mental health sometimes. I will never forget when I moved to a new to British town, for postgrad opportunities, and during the 1st week of introduction on the course, a few/most of the folks found out that I was new to the area, as it was treated as a topic of chit-chat/in the moment. One of my colleagues, looked deeper into it, and gave me a ''house/flat welcoming gift'' (which is a culture/tradition they do in her country). I was so shocked and a bit taken back, because I was so touched by the gesture, as its not a norm in the UK, ESPECIALLY the idea of giving gifts to someone you don't know (which I think is sad and isolating). The colleague was from USA. So I get what you mean about the positive mindset that US folks have, despite their load of problems over there. Iam doing my RN programme, then will try to leave as well
Here here brilliantly said my man 👏👏👏 I’m a 52 year old from Bristol who’s just done the same thing for the exactly the same reasons and now I’m living in bangkok also 🍺🍺
I wholeheartedly agree with you. I have done the same years ago. I am now living in Tunisia for the last 14 years, in Djerba island. I would not change it for the world.
Good for you. Hope you will be successful and be a reprimand to UK society. Once there is a group of expat British successful entrepreneurs, society as a whole might start waking up and fix the issues on hand.
After Brexit the writing was on the wall for the UK.........left and moved to Australia where you can have a lifestyle. Too much time wasted in the UK sitting in your house when weather is awful wishing was somewhere else.
For me a big factor was the social aspect of living in a hot country. I’m based in Thailand and I’ll be having dinner outside at 9-10pm with friends. In the U.K. I’d likely be in bed. It’s also great for mental health.
@@mrdamianking Yes same in Australia. Moved back after pandemic to UK for a year and life really is work, go home, have a pint on a Friday........its so one dimensional. If I wake up in Australia can grab a coffee before working or a walk on beach at lunch. People are happier and the connection and conversation flows better because of the energy. If not for lids, I would move to Bali I reckon
I like your perspective of life. Don’t like something, change it. Sadly many Brits prefer to sit on their arse, moan and do f*ck all about it. Tall poppy syndrome.
Everything you say is spot on. I've wanted to leave for years now but my family doesn't want to go. The cold wet summer, autumn and even wetter winter is so depressing. Ive wanted to go to the USA because the mindset is so different, the weather is better. The USA is struggling now too. East Asia sounds good.
thanks for sharing - very inspirational. I've had enough of the UK now, it's so expensive but no real benefits for the tax paid. Hopefully I can find how I can transition to a role that will allow me to move.
Good summary. I've returned to the UK after 23 years abroad. Not sure how long we will stay. There are a couple of reasons, first is supporting my aging family, second is my wife who isn't English and who had a rosy view of the place and lastly, the last country we left was The Netherlands, which we liked but felt we got taxed to the eyeballs and although the standard of living is better than the UK, it is dropping quickly, already expensive, freedom of speech is becoming a luxury, and we noticed lots of angry unchecked immigrants with crime levels rising. We try to integrate by learning the language and history where we reside which takes some time and has its rewards. What we find shocking returning to the UK is that there are a lot of cultures now that do not share the same values of typical Christian English and even worse we feel treated by the establishment as 2nd class citizens to them. WTF is happening? Basic services such as Dentistry and medical is subpar. Even the home office fast track illegal immigrants visa and passport processing over normal applications for visa and immigration. We don't understand why other cultures want to live in the UK if they prefer there own culture from another country and have no intention of adapting and integrating. It is leading to trouble. I see it in other countries too but visiting some famous parks in Northern cities it looks like we are visiting an Arabic land with signs in Arabic, chanting tanoyed from the local mosque, women dressed in black wearing a Boris Johnson letter box outfit. Now I don't mind arabic lands but don't understand why they want little Arabia in a different country especially now that we see changes in the world order that favour exactly those countries rich in commodities. Buying property in the UK needs drastic reform and the rise in house prices is solely due to the Banks making money from debt loans without which people would not be able to afford homes. In a way its like a ponzi scheme. Its scandalous but now so many livelihoods depend on it I don't see it changing unless there is a catastrophe such as war. Sorry for the rant.
I agree with everything you’ve said. I love the Netherlands but sadly, like most of Europe it’s loosing its identity. I wouldn’t be surprised if they rename the U.K. the UN (United nation) so as to not upset the immigrants. The U.K. has become a joke

Hi mate. I’ve just left the UK a month ago. The reasons are exactly what you have described in your excellent video. I’m now living in paradise in Pattaya. Happy as Larry😂 I wish you all the best in your journey buddy 👍
I've just had enough mate, I'm sick of it I just drove to London and got fined over 1k for pcns. Im just not very knollegable on how to move. My partner may be moving to the US so I'm not sure if I should go with her or what. Wish I was more like you tbh.
I’m not sure it’s any better in the States, mate. All I will say is that I’m a great believer in following your own path and not someone else’s. Puts a lot of pressure on a relationship. But you got to do what you've got to do. Best of luck 👍🏻
You are so right. The global south is the place to be this millennium. The mess is not only in the UK but almost the entire west. Insane tax schemes by the government and obscene property prices that renders many homeless. I'm in Canada and am planning my retirement elsewhere.
Totally agree. Western society is f*cked. Regardless of what some dreamers think, the power players in the coming years are BRICS. Where are you planning to retire to?
@@mrdamianking May be back to my hometown in Malaysia. I was just there in Nov. but the humidity is something I find hard to adapt these days. But man, my Canadian $1.00 stretches so so far! In addition, cost of living is so cheap. Imagine one bowl of noodles is RM$4. That's C$1.15! In Vancouver, a bowl of noodles is around C$15.00! That's RM$52.00! Hilarious. And you're right, BRICS is it. There's no stopping it.
Wow buddy, I am messaging you as the UK is in literally meltdown because of most of what you stated in this video a year ago! My wife and I been wanting to emigrate for a while now (NZ, Aus, Spain) I’m just working on a shift from ‘conventional work’ into the online world and seeing what I can do to be free. (Obviously with kids) I have to try and work out what’s best with regards to a location, online entrepreneurship etc but I’m going to give it a really good go. Currently a mental health crisis support worker and life coach, maybe I can do something there online, maybe I just flip the script and try something completely new, but may I send you a thank you for inspiring people to look outside of the ‘norm’ I enjoy empowering people and I like hearing others doing it too! Thanks for the upload. Maybe I will be in touch with an update or something in 6/12 months 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey brother, thanks for the message. It sounds like you have things locked down regarding future plans. I see no reason why you can’t transfer your skills and do something online. My advice is to get really niche. Have a purpose-driven statement (one sentence), i.e., what problem you solve. Mine, for example, when pitching clients, is very succinct. Rather than say, I work in marketing. I reframe as - I help SMEs get their products & services in front of their target audience in a busy marketplace. It’s so much more impactful. Anyway I hope that helps. Best of luck, and keep in contact bro 👍🏻
So right just came back from Thailand after a 6 week trip for the first time, and the penny has dropped. Your right sorting my life out and doing 6 months here and thailand next year.

Unless you have a room at Mums house for the six months you are out of Thailand, that plan will quickly become unworkable. Rent your place in UK for six months? Apart from being unethical, it's also unworkable you'll tear your hair out just dealing with the "housekeeping" involved. Oh and then you have to re-rent in Thailand again, and where do you store all the kit you'll not want to lose, but can't carry around? With the cost of all this travel, you may as well stay put. I am thinking of moving abroad too and this video articulated the reasons so well. I am lucky I live in the country and so aren’t always in the city but everytime I do go to a city I see how much worse it’s getting and how it’s only a matter of time before my lovely village is caught up in all the things you spoke about. I also feel as though no one in power cares about the large working part of the population instead they focus on identity groups and people on benefits
It’s already moving out of the cities. Career criminals are targeting more remote places because there’s less chance of getting caught. London is already doomed. What’s happened to what was an amazing country
Strong disagree there, as someone living in Ireland as a UK emigrant. -Cost of living when it comes to food and bills is marginally higher, but all jobs are paid better. -We have LPT (as a homeowner), higher road tax and have to pay for bins, but no council tax bill. For example if we were in our house in the UK, our council tax would be over £4000 a year. Here, we have LPT of €585. Our bins are €300, combined road tax is €310. So we pay €1110 for the same services as we'd get for £4000 in the UK. Ireland isn't in the state the UK is in, not even close!
@@mrrayner7162 £4000 year council tax, that's pretty over the top. Ireland also has no water charges, but I do believe the LPT should also cover the bin charges.
Stumbled across your video, your thoughts and sentiments totally reflect my mindset in 2024 (a year later!) I'm actually financially independent, some would call it success, but here in the UK it's hated, it's despised. Success is hated in the UK, in the culture and in the government. I really do want to surround myself with like minded people but it;s definitely not in the UK.
i moved to spain, but its just as bad here. the housing options are even worse. people are paying 1200 month for a damp bedsit. its bad news. plus no work.
I left the UK in 2002 and moved to, wait for it...Guyana! South America and I absolutely love it, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Born n grew up in London, and sad to say UK is a hell hole. Guyana gets really bad press but I love it here. A huge, 3 bed apartment 60 quid a week! A comfortable 3 bed house between 50 to 100k to buy - try doing that in London! Year round sunshine, lovely fresh food, and best of all you are FREE, in Guyana - very very little bureaucracy here. People don't be afraid, with UK money you live like an absolute king in some of these other countries, and as a digital nomad life is good.
Those that are able to work from a laptop, congrats. The rest of us are stuck because our jobs are dependent on that we show up in a certain location to work.
I'm still with the same "job" except that my skills are transferable where I've worked in more than 30 countries in the past 9 yrs since I left London so, be creative & get out of your shoebox mentality fugu, live life fully, tho not without challenges out there...
I met now my wife in 2016, we will move to Romania in the next 2 years (my wife is Romanian),being married to my wife has opened my eyes up to this embarrassment of a country, used to be ok say 5 years ago but now it’s just out of control 😢

I heard things are getting bad in the UK. The same is happening in the US, maybe not as bad, but not good. I am retired and looking to move outside the US.
I agree with all the points you said bro but what countries do we go to? and to be honest i dont know if i should go because i know a lot of people who have moved to the UK and their doing really well but i personally was thinking of getting out because honestly all the issues you said in the video and how much they are affecting me
That’s just the point. When you move to another country you tend to not get caught up in societal and political matters. Thailand is far from perfect if you were born and raised there. Much like the U.K. is for me. The same can be said for Dubai and such countries. I’m of the opinion that if you don’t like something, fix it. What does you gut tell you?

I agree with what you said mate - the UK is a toilet now, i saw that this was happening before and i left the UK in 1998 and lived in S.E Asia since then !
A lot of Brits are moving to Florida. Myrtle Beach South Carolina is a great tropical place to live and it's a red state. White sand beaches warm turquoise Waters palm trees great food, cheap living cheap gas and no illegals.
Some parts of Florida are dumps. It is the same in the UK. Some parts are glorious other parts look third world. There is good and bad wherever one lives.

There is a lot of bad in the UK and you do make some good valid points. But also I think maybe not let the news make us believe things are a lot worse than they are. Cutting down on the news intake has led to more positivity in my own life as it is not as bad as made out. The taxes and how how corporation tax and other things are dealt with are a joke.
For the most part I don’t watch or read the news, but it’s hard not to take in certain parts through social media etc. then I find myself going down the rabbit hole. The U.K. media is trash that’s for sure.

Islam
PORTUGAL maybe??
They were created from a spurting fluid, stemming from between the backbone and the ribcage.” (Surah At-Tariq 86:5 -7)
First of all, this verse is scientifically inaccurate and wrong; Sperm is produced in the testes. So some say the verse refers to semen. The main function of the prostate gland is to secrete an alkaline fluid that comprises approximately 70% of the seminal volume. The secretions produce lubrication and nutrition for the sperm. But the ribs are too high to say "the prostate is between the backbone & the ribs."
What about anti-tolerance?

Sadly, it has been for a while now. The UK government supports corporations because they are full of yes men who pay their taxes on time and don’t question things. Hope you manage to exit the U.K. and prosper Graeme 👍🏻
You are 100% right!
Similar in Ireland.
Thank you brother. I’m hearing the same from many different countries.
Long road ahead for sure
Left the UK 15 years ago and couldn't possibly go back. It is a joyless nanny state run by jobsworths.
Completely agree
That is the most concise description I have seen so far of the UK 👍
Can't agree more! I left London nearly 9 fantastic yrs, work & enjoy more than 30 countries thus far & saving 2 to 3x more than when I had my 9-5 back in London!!! The world's way more than just the UK, tho I still visit once in a while but only in the Summer as no way anyone should endure the miserable winter in London / UK when u can hv the Caribbean where I am now. Love seeing the world for "free" and work with lovely folks from all walks of life in different corners of this beautiful planet! Everyone should try it out & u've nothing to loose. Do it now!!!
Live life and travel the world 👍🏻
Great content mate. A great book to read written a while ago called “The Sovereign Individual” predicted people would get fed up with being treated as milk cows by their governments. Plenty of countries around the world are competing for your business and you don’t need to stay somewhere just because you were born there.
Will definitely check that book out 👍🏻
UK fucking sucks!
But you did something about it, so my hat off to you. Too many people moan and do sod all but moan. I hope Oz goes well.
I recently found out that England and Wales are basically the only places on earth to have leasehold property. You can literally be thrown out of a flat that you own outright, if you can't afford the service charge/ground rent. It's just awful.
Sadly so. Although leasehold is commonplace in most countries I know
Our first house in Ireland had "management fees" for upkeep of the communal area in the estate.
Leasehold is also in egypt
l agree, uk is finished as a country of opportunity. Brexit was a wake up call. Insular mindset, l retired to España over twenty years ago…I’m not looking to work of course, however living in a kinder climate just makes you feel good…not to mention adding to life expectancy…
I completely agree. The U.K. weather get me down as well
I remember back when I was studying in London, a teenager was stabbed by a 21 years old outside Catford McDonald's. Just becase the boy didnt give him the burger which he was threateningly asked for by tge other.Instantly, I knew thats there was serious problem in the society already.😢😢
Bro...as an American, your country sounds just like ours!!
All the crap you mentioned about your country sounds
just like ours. I agree with you 100% I am thinking
about moving out to another country.
@johnmknox won’t be long until the U.K. does the same
@@johnmknox I think all western countries are going to do it eventually because of the ease of citizen flight. Thailand is teaming with westerners who no longer pay home taxes while still carrying western passports. It is not sustainable.
Can someone tell me what I am paying £2100 council tax for? This excludes everything else including "TV licence" fee.
I hope you enjoy the content I’ve got coming out 👍🏻
100% with you Bro, Im the same. As a former Royal Marines Commando and War Veteran. My country has shat on me big time. Every thing here now gets under my skin and boils my Piss. I too will be leaving. Nothing here for me, no quality of life, too many scumbags, I could go on and on. Its had it, Broken and dissolved beyond repair. And like you said to top it off the climate is Shite. Good luck and all the very best to you my friend.❤
Thank you brother. Best of luck with your endeavours 👍🏻
Shocking, I salute you sir. 🫡
True story 100% spot on.

UK 25 degrees feels like 30,
Keep persevering. If it was easy everyone would do it. I’m sure you’ll make it happen.
The weather in the U.K. is a big reason I left.
Unfortunately the U.K. favours yes men that work for corporations. Entrepreneurs tend to think for themselves and the U.K. government doesn’t like it
@@mrdamianking ohhh thanks for the education this is my problem here
Great video with alot of very sad but true reasons.

NOW, retired, I was born to retire, loving it!

i know EXACTLY wht you mean about the negativity and lack of collaberation/community here in the UK.
Iam doing my RN programme, then will try to leave as well
Sadly everything you say is true. However, such things should spur us on to create a better life for ourselves. Good luck in your endeavours

After Brexit the writing was on the wall for the UK.........left and moved to Australia where you can have a lifestyle. Too much time wasted in the UK sitting in your house when weather is awful wishing was somewhere else.

@@mrdamianking Uk weather impacts and lack of energy impacts motivation, mood and so much
For me a big factor was the social aspect of living in a hot country.
Excellent video, 100% spot on with what you are saying in this video
I see some issues taking place in Sweden last week. The same issues we have in the U.K. but if I state it, I’ll be deplatformed. Crazy times

Hey brother, thanks for the message. It sounds like you have things locked down regarding future plans. I see no reason why you can’t transfer your skills and do something online. My advice is to get really niche. Have a purpose-driven statement (one sentence), i.e., what problem you solve.

Good luck to you😊
I know a few people with that visa
I am thinking of moving abroad too and this video articulated the reasons so well. I am lucky I live in the country and so aren’t always in the city but everytime I do go to a city I see how much worse it’s getting and how it’s only a matter of time before my lovely village is caught up in all the things you spoke about. I also feel as though no one in power cares about the large working part of the population instead they focus on identity groups and people on benefits
It’s already moving out of the cities. Career criminals are targeting more remote places because there’s less chance of getting caught. London is already doomed. What’s happened to what was an amazing country
Im living in Ireland, take all the problems with the UK that you mention and multiply by ten, thats how bad things are here.
So I hear. Sad times
@@mrrayner7162 m
@@mrrayner7162 £4000 year council tax, that's pretty over the top. Ireland also has no water charges, but I do believe the LPT should also cover the bin charges.
Stumbled across your video, your thoughts and sentiments totally reflect my mindset in 2024 (a year later!) I'm actually financially independent, some would call it success, but here in the UK it's hated, it's despised. Success is hated in the UK, in the culture and in the government. I really do want to surround myself with like minded people but it;s definitely not in the UK.
Totally agree, and it’s only getting worse.
i moved to spain, but its just as bad here. the housing options are even worse. people are paying 1200 month for a damp bedsit. its bad news. plus no work.
I’ve heard people say the same
I left the UK in 2002 and moved to, wait for it...Guyana!
Fair play my man. Sounds like a pretty cool lifestyle 👍🏻
Those that are able to work from a laptop, congrats.
The rest of us are stuck because our jobs are dependent on that we show up in a certain location to work.
No one is stuck in a job. There’s no law to say you can’t change jobs, right?
It does if your work is locally based
I'm still with the same "job" except that my skills are transferable where I've worked in more than 30 countries in the past 9 yrs since I left London so, be creative & get out of your shoebox mentality fugu, live life fully, tho not without challenges out there...
Change job, change careers?
I agree. Some people have an excuse for everything. Change things up I say
I met now my wife in 2016, we will move to Romania in the next 2 years (my wife is Romanian),being married to my wife has opened my eyes up to this embarrassment of a country, used to be ok say 5 years ago but now it’s just out of control 😢
I know, crazy how things can change so quickly.
Thanks mate, this video is inspiring!
Glad you like it bro 👍🏻
I can't disagree with a single word of the entire video. A perfect summary, thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻
@@mrdamianking Mate I've watched this video twice again this afternoon and passed it on to a few friends, it's f'king legendary. The most worrying thing about the content, is the vast majority of UK citizens that are UK born, just accept it, noting most importantly the word "accept." Thanks again.
@martinsmusic2223 thanks for sharing it bro 👍🏻
I heard things are getting bad in the UK. The same is happening in the US, maybe not as bad, but not good. I am retired and looking to move outside the US.
What the U.K. doesn’t have is space. We are a tiny island. Things will implode very soon. You guys have space but that will run out at some stage
@@mrdamianking A lot of the US is uninhabitable.
Parts of London are becoming the same due to certain residents
I moved to Thailand 18 years ago, it's not perfect but the weather is good at least.
Been living there for the last 3 years. Amazing place. Food and weather is a sure winner
@@mrdamiankingwhere are you going
you need to do the research and find your path. don't go somewhere because someone said to. what's your MO?
I’m working as a digital nomad in Madeira. Love it!
Nice 👍🏻
We're all fed up with the state of the UK! True Brits are treated like rubbish, but illegal immigrants are given anything they want! We are now a third world country!
R.I.P. Great Britain! 😡🇬🇧🇬🇧
My future prediction - the U.K. renames itself the United Nations so as to not upset the people who have chosen to move to the U.K. - The U.K. is dead
I hear you; wintertime UK is depressing and not for me; however; as a west country boy; I don't think you can beat the Cotswold Escarpment and surrounding area in summer. People are considerate and friendly; informed, and interesting...I love it. Best country in the world; and trust me I lived 20 years right through latin America; 15 in South East Asia, Australasia; and am currently in China...So long as there's some kind of summer; wherever I may roam; I will return to my English home.
I agree with what you said mate - the UK is a toilet now, i saw that this was happening before and i left the UK in 1998 and lived in S.E Asia since then !
Fair play. I’m in Thailand myself
I agree with you all the points that you mentioned!
👍🏻
A lot of Brits are moving to Florida. Myrtle Beach South Carolina is a great tropical place to live and it's a red state. White sand beaches warm turquoise Waters palm trees great food, cheap living cheap gas and no illegals.
No illegals in Florida…really? I thought you guys were having the same issues as us?
@@mrdamianking I said Myrtle Beach South Carolina
My bad
Some parts of Florida are dumps. It is the same in the UK. Some parts are glorious other parts look third world. There is good and bad wherever one lives.
@@stevenhull5025good parts of Florida are very expensive. Getting homeowners insurance is also a nightmare. Something to bear in mind.
This video is 💯 spot on! I’ve lived in the uk my whole life
My husband ran his own business for over 5yrs and went back to hgv class 1 because it was easier, the Government don’t help, I am fed up of the BS on this country and hope many more people see this video it’s speaks absolute volumes!!!! I wanna start my own business and I have started to get my ducks in a row
Hopefully one day I can move abroad 😊
Thanks for your comment Kirsty. Sounds like you’re getting things in motion. I agree the U.K. wants sheep that say “yes sir no sir”. No incentive to start a business. Good luck with your endeavours
Hi Damian, you look the same age as me, what do you do about elderly parents? I feel trapped, any advice or inspiration you could share I would really appreciate. I agree completely with everything you said, Ive lived here all my life but feel trapped. I like your voice, you sound like Ricky Gervais who I like a lot.
How old are you, Sam? I’m intrigued. Well, I guess sounding like RG is better than looking like him 🤣
Advice? A question I was asked many years ago that inspired me to quit my corporate job - will more of what you already have make you happy? If the answer is no…you have a decision to make.
A worthy note to mention - all of my significant wins and achievements in life have come from mistakes, setbacks and struggles I’ve faced. The easy route is never the answer.
You've hit the main points well 👍🙏
It certainly seems to resonate with people Angus. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@Male Mastery I'm over 50 so moving out in November. House on the market, no interest in returning. It's toxic here and only a very strong political movement will change things - not in my lifetime. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks bro
Would you have examples of places you’d recommend at looking at moving to? Thank you
It depends on what type of lifestyle you’re looming for. Weather, food, religion etc. I’m based in Thailand and love it here. I have many friends in Dubai who enjoying living there. Costa Rica is another.
Love this vlog great motivational vibe.. Top man 👍
Thanks Bro
