No joke I Popped when Mick brought up JR to Vince and called him out on the flat out bullying he put JR through when he was the best he had in that position and the best since ❤
I'm happy foley spoke well of Hogan. Amazing quote " Their are Those who acknowledge how amazing it is to be in the ring with Hulk and those who pretend it isn't"
I think he summed up everyday life for most of us when he rear view mirrored TNA and said to enjoy it for what it is and not knock it for what it isn’t. Positive vibes for Joe!
I just wish fans in general could simply enjoy (or simply don't watch and don't bother discussing) an alternative wrestling product. WWE has had a pretty big head start and are well established. TNA and now AEW have some silly and unrealistic expectations from fans.
It is so funny to hear Mick talk about seeing the Horror Nights Scareactors backstage during his TNA run. I worked for Halloween Horror nights during this time, and i remember him coming and talking to us while our makeup and blood were being applied! The first time he came over, i was being worked on and my eyes were closed. I had no idea who was talking but remember thinking to myself “dang-this guy is talking A LOT!” (sorry Mick 😂) He was always so nice to us, and i remember how psyched so many of us were to meet him. Thank you, Mick!
@ 30:30 I always thought Kevin Dunn did the fast editing, did not know he wasn't responsible for doing that. Glad to see them talking about Micks experience with TNA.
I'm not gonna lie; I love Mick's Podcast. The more I watch the more I realise this guy is a genuine good guy, he's had a fantastic career, and that I love listening to his stories
One thing I just do not get. Vince McMahon, yes, he had success, but, all I ever hear is, "if not for McMahon I wouldn't". Believe it or not, if not for the skill talent and passion people like Mick offered (as well as ideas), WWE wouldn't be nearly as successful. The fans in general don't love McMahon's amazing business practices, they love the characters and performances of the wrestlers. There's a reason McMahon wanted WWE attached to anything and everything a current or former wrestler might be doing, it got media attention, it was NOT solely a generous heart. I'm not demonising the man, but attaching WWE to people past and present helps HIS brand and was something he clearly knew and capitalised on.
So many examples in this [pdcast of why Mick Foley is one of my most favorite people in wrestling. Not favorite wrestlers (no offense Mick) but favorite PEOPLE. Much love and respect for (as Mr. Bonsignore calls him) Mickels.
I know lots of people have mixed feelings about his run in TNA, or outright didn't like it, but for my money, I loved it for several reasons. A) as a kid, I was always let down by his short title reigns. Seeing him hold a world title for more than a month, was a real treat for me personally. It was even cool seeing him win the Legends Championship and thought he worked well with Nash. B) Mick still had what I thought were exquisite mic skills. He brought his full personality and ability to emote and put it on full display during his promos. Some of the promos he had with guys like Sting were just great to watch. C) I enjoyed the matches for what they were. Sure they were slower than they usually were, but they all had this ebb and flow to them. Mick still told great stories in that ring.
I absolutely loved mick in tna, his cage match with sting was my favorite of his. I remember on the tna website the day before his debut they just posted a smiley face on the main page. Was so excited The tweet and tweak connection was also hilarious. I hope they do another tna episode because there’s tons of more meat on the bone
I liked what Mick had to say about Dixie and TNA about what she did. In a way it mimicks what Eric had to say about her. Yes there were people that couldn't get a cup of coffee in the WWE.
51:18 Mick was so right about Dixie Carter with the whole inclusive aspect. I remember when TNA was first doing house shows, with AJ, Matt Morgan and Scott Steiner, etc... and at the end of the show you got to get autographs with them. So as much as people speak negative against Dixie Carter, I thought her doing that was really awesome.
I don't think Mick considers himself as "Standing up to Vince"...but instead... he's standing up for himself. There's a difference...and I think Vince understands.
My brother passed long ago but you was his favorite wrestler of all time and mine too much lobe from ohio. By the way I love nirvana too my favorite album is Bleach as well.
The Lou Ferrigno story is embarrassing. It's like when a parent sends their kid to school on a field trip but doesn't give them money for lunch. Any professional company would NEVER allow their employee/talent to front the bill without prior knowledge, especially when it's a substantial amount.
What a wonderful mess of an episode. Conrad totally fails to keep Mick focused on his entry but instead gets a really fun overview of his entire run with the company.
Foley said to remind him of 2 things he wanted to say at the end n dont let him forget, remind him at the end... Common Conrad lol. jk all good. Mick just has a good time and i like when hes in the same room with you - Rah T (Li NY)
Betterhelp is still around? I thought they were gone after that scandel where it was discovered that all the info you share with a "therapist" was sold to companies and that not of the "therapist" were licensed doctors so they don't have to follow the same rules as they do.
Only thing more sad than Foley having his last matches in TNA was Kurt Angle wrestling in TNA for a majority of his career. Both of them completely worn down physically and mentally by the end of their runs there. Still, WWE was hot garbage and still is. Both of them would have been better off staying on a show that people actually watched.
I don't think its a good look to mention the competition...it's always the lower brand that mentions the competition so if you start doing it it makes you seem even more of a second rate company.
I wonder why Barry Bloom accompanied Mick to Huntsville this week... I speculate - Conrad's been leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, which may be leading to one of two things: -A revolutionary new business venture [definitely Not a promotion] that will finally turn the corner on the [not a] wrestling promotion TV format. -An empty sandwich wrapper. A new & exciting digital streaming platform allows for storylines developed on the fly via 24/7 video clips. This approach could really blur the line. Would love to work with you Conrad. We have much in common, I believe we'd get along like BMFBFF's. I'm a HELL on an artist and visionary and have an encyclopedic passion for the history of wrestling.
Week 4 of asking for your time in IWA and FMW. I can understand if these are pre-recorded but I find it hard to believe you two have yet to discuss his time in Japan or at least the King of the Deathmatch.
09:24 I’m not used be treated like this Hahahaha then he brings in he had his young kids there. Wow I didn’t know cactus jack is such a Whiney victim kind of person.
I like mick, but grow a set dude. I get sticking up for yourself, but someone dropping an f bomb on ya? You sound like most of the world anymore which is you're soft lol
Mick also thinks he was an average wrestler in terms of mechanics where anybody looking at his body of work knows he's being hard on himself. Oh, his in ring performance in TNA was average and he was only in that spot due to previous history but his mic work was as great as ever and his ideas about putting the matches together were as immaculate as ever. I wish this guy felt comfortable booking or managing because he'd be a natural at both (I'd also love to see him commentating without Vince in his ear!).
@@UFCWWE69 I know what Flair said and I honestly don't care. Foley knows his psychology and how to piece a match together. His body sometimes doesn't cash those checks, it's true, but in terms of psychology he's a top ten. Hell, he's a top three. At least his matches VARY. Good for Mick! So few people have stood up to Vince.
I am so excited to hear about this topic. Been waiting for it. This is the best Conrad Podcast today. By far

My favorite podcast. Foley is a great story teller. Look forward to this every week

I totally agree
If you ever get the chance to go see him please do I got the chance to see him in Brisbane Australia this year and he was fantastic

Mick Foley as Uncle Buck is too fucking perfect 😂😂😂
Fav podcast I’m sub’d to by FAR. Could listen to him talk forever ha ha.
I started watching TNA Imapct in 2007 man what a roster they had it still blows my mind how bad they messed that company up.
They had 20 years to be what AEW is now sad.
Hogan came and messed it all up

The only time i watched tna consistently every week was when mick was on
Looking forward to this one I didn’t watch very much TNA
Mick is a better man than me, I would have been gone after the first f bomb
I don't see the big deal. He knew of Vinces rep so had to have expected some Vince blowup interjection eventually.
Vince is a micromanaging geriatric juice head
Who didnt love foley in TNA? It was great to watch
As someone with ALS it's good to see someone of Mick Foley's reach speak about how horrible this disease truly is

For the few who come Into the comment sections on these posts. I hope we are all agreed that the picture used here is perfect 🤌.
Can't wait til mick starts talking about iwa japan and fmw

I have all 4 of the memoirs and the 2 novels. I wish Mick would write another novel.
Say what you will about his TNA run - that theme song of his was a banger. (Both versions.)
Oh yeah I completely forgot how good that song was

Needed to ask what Vince said to Foley's Chamber comment.
My sister lost her husband of 30 years to ALS THIS YEAR

Mick looking the opposite direction feels wrong
Not to pick by 300 is the same thing as 10's of 10's. It's 30 (3 10's) or 10s
More like dozens of dozens
J.R. was obviously willing to put up with more shit than Foley did. Whether that was a factor in his getting worn down is anyone's guess.
Why is a 17 year old telling Conrad he’s using Blue Chew and why does a 17 year old need it?
