This is part one in our series where we go through a complete bottom end engine rebuild on a roached out 2005 Honda CRF450R. The first part of this process includes disassembling the engine, which is detailed here in this video. The steps shown here will be very similar for 2002 to 2008 Honda CRF450's. Stay tuned for this series to see the complete engine disassembly and rebuild process.

AS a mechanic i love your channel.. Please make some video about mappng ecu crf 450
I took my trx apart a couple months ago to do a starter clutch, there was no timing marks on it or the counterbalance shaft, care to explain? 😅
how much different would a 2016 CRF250r procedure be?
Great video I like it
Is a crf150r about the same?
Excelente video 📹thanks 😊
What tool do you use to remove shift drum cam?
When you take the top end off do you have to reset your timing and everything as well and valve clearance as well. The most annoying part seems like the top end stuff
hello my friend congratulations for your video, i am brazilian i have a 2008 crf 250r, i have the following problem: When I run at high engine speeds she throws a lot of gear oil out of the gasp, why does this happen since the engine has 2 separate crankshafts, can you help me? Thanks
The right crankcase cover gasket on my 03 Crf450r is leaking, any parts I should change while I’m in there?
Dudes where is Part2?? Impossible to find...

Here you go
I have a question about the two snap rings on the stator cover I replaced my stator cover and replaced the rubber seal but the other I think it’s the oil valve dose it matter how it’s positioned inside the cover
The position of the oil relief valve won't matter as long as its fully seated. Just make sure the sharp edges of the snap rings face out and make sure they are fully seated. ua-cam.com/video/r3XryeyZr3k/v-deo.html -Charles
@@CharlesTheWrench thank you so much you guys are a great help
Would this be the same procedure with a 2007 CRF250r ?
It should be
I have a question is it only 2 strokes that require a case splitting tool or would a 2012 kx450f need a case splitting tool?
The case splitting tool works on most 2 and 4 stroke engines with vertically split cases (like the KX450F).
Is there a way I can remove the flywheel without the puller ?
The puller is the best, safest, and easiest way to remove the flywheel. We highly recommend it! - Wes
What size puller
👌Ecxelente, muchas gracias..!
Quick question for you. How many hours do you go before replacing crank on a 450?
Thanks in advance 🙏🙂
That answer will vary depending on your bike, riding style, conditions you ride in,and previous maintenance. Pro level riders can sometimes get 100 hours out of a crank while amateurs can get 200+ hours on a crank. You'll want to check the manual for your bike and also check the free-play of the connecting rod anytime you're in the top end.
Hey i just bought a crf450r 2006 model, it has a brand new top end but i still cant kick it over, i can get it to start for a few seconds then it will die. Any clue what my issue could be?

I'm not sure what bike you meant to say, but if it is a 2004 Honda CRF450R the OEM stator can be ordered. You can check out the OEM parts finder here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts
