    The rubbing alcohol has to be 90%, or use smiroff vodka that doesn't have a strong smell.
    Also, the alcohol and vodka are used to help the oil move up the rattan reeds.
    You can find this information on a UA-cam channel named Clean My Space.
    In the UA-cam search box put,

    I'm a subscriber to that channel and have saved a lot of money by following her DIY recipes.

    I know it's already old but you can use a reed to guide a stream of oil just stick in the bottle and pour the oil on the side of the stick

    In a quarter of a bottle of carrier oil I think one would need at least 20 to 30 drops of essential oils.

      I'm not sure if that kind of stick will be good at absorbing the oil. You can try, but sticks or twigs that absorb well would be ideal.

      It is but without alcohol I find that turning the reeds daily is a must.

      I'm not sure about that one. I've never tried it. Probably would work too but I don't know if the fragrance will last as long or anything like that.

      Yes you can use perfume oil. It's also a good way to use up any old perfume that way.

      If the sticks are already well used, I am not sure if they will work effectively anymore. It would affect the scent as well if it was already used from a different fragrance.

      You can use thin oils like almond oil, fractionated coconut oil or safflower oil

      You'd have to keep turning the sticks if there's no alcohol added because I find that it doesn't get absorbed as easily into the reeds.

      Like I mentioned in the video, others add rubbing alcohol in the mixture though I have not tried this myself.

      I've never tried but I can imagine that you can. However, I think aroma oils are diluted so they may be milder than essential oils.

      No, I didn't notice separation. They say that if you add rubbing alcohol, it helps prevent that.
