Mastery explains how you can become a leader in any given field by examining the lives and pathways to success of historical masters such as Mozart, Einstein, Benjamin Franklin and Darwin, as well as modernday masters Greene has interviewed.
The ultimate form of power is mastery. As a master you are at the height of your power and in this video I first dive into a personal story of mine and compare it to one of Robert Greene's life stories, where we both experienced Mastery on a micro-scale, but let's face it - Robert Greene is a master and he knows it, but at the same time he's too humble to write a book on Mastery and present himself as a prime example. That's what a true master does. He lets the people decide.
___
Dear future masters,
I realize I sound like a little, whiny, spoiled kid in the opening story.
Keep in mind that was 4 years ago and I've since matured a lot and took on a much stronger mindset. My hope is that it will resonate with people who've been in a similar situation or might even be facing such challenges now or in the near future. It might happen out of a lack of discipline or unforeseen events that put you on deathground. Either way, you gotta own it.
Let's be honest, all of us remember that time when we came home from school / college and the last thing on our mind was the big project that had to be finished a week later. The 50 page dissertation I had to write counted as 1/3rd of all marks for economics, the most important subject - so it definitely was a big deal to me and I faced an overwhelming amount of pressure. In a way, I'm proud that I owned up to the situation. Better late, than never. And while I'm at it, I had the best mark. Take that work-a-year-in-advance-and-tell-everybody Lucy.
Nowadays I'm getting closer to that very same amount of focus & dedication for what I do, because I spend time working on things that will directly benefit me and not some ungrateful, suit-wearing, look-down-at-you dickhead. I'm passionate about going to the gym, learning, keeping my nutrition in check and animating these videos, so I want to work hard. It feels good. That's what lots of gurus don't tell you. They don't love Mondays, because they get up, get to the office and feed someone else's wallet. They're in it for creating a greater future for themselves and the people close to them.
Obviously reaching Mastery at burgerwielding for McDonalds or wielding stacks of documents at the office isn't anyone's vision (or so I hope). Thus it shouldn't come as a surprise to you, you're unhappy at it. Find your passion & realize it. It isn't easy, but it's sure as hell worth it.
Until next time,
Nenad (illacertus)

See you at the top gents 🥂
I can totally relate to you, I used to be a shy and reticent person. Im currently an intern stuck with a friend who takes my credits away and I just completed a 50 page thesis in under a week with little sleep and somehow seeing you put so much hard work in ur videos gives me hope to mature and grow. Thank you!!
I know this is gonna be off point but
I like pucca too
I'm really, really glad that I am watching these and taking notes on them at 17 years old in my senior year of high school. I am so far back in your videos because I just found out about your channel and found it in a article written by Illimitable Man named "What to learn and how to learn it," but I am already amazed at the information that is presented. I greatly appreciate this.
NULIFIDIAN POS a lot of truths that would otherwise probably have been clumsily stumbled upon
guess what.... I'm 16 and watching this 😜

The beginning story reminded me of a TED talk i saw. The guy in the talk put himself in one of those do or die situations and that's exactly what he learned, when failure is not an option, you WILL find a way. If you want to accomplish something, this is a good way to do it. Put yourself in a situation where failure is not an option, fear WILL kick your ass, or try, but if you win against it, you will accomplish your goal.
Dude, this is one of the better channels on UA-cam and there is nothing wrong with your story or the extra language! It's what we call being REAL EXTRA!
Very happy to see you're touching on this book. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work. You're onto something good with this channel.
I really like these and I love Robert Greene's books!!! You are a natural teacher and encourager, and I love how you express your gift.
This video and your style is amazing. I wholeheartedly appreciate your work
Thank you for this video...After studying various sources, I have come to the conclusion that it is the ART OF MASTERING your own thoughts to win the war agaisnt your mind.
If there s no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.
I don't care hos big or strong you are,if you don't have the spiritual warrior in you, you'll never win.
you have to control your fear otherwise it will destroy you....thank you for uploading this video.
Peejay Cui I like how you view how you start from within. Where would you recommend a person to who wants to learn this effectively to?
Your work is amazing and I truly enjoy every part of it. When you speak I hear a master. I am sure you might say that you are only repeating what you have read, but I disagree. You have a very clear grasp on the subjects you talk about. It is apparent that you are a good person that will one day reach a powerful position, and you are already taking the steps necessary to do so. Keep up the excellent work.

Best videos on youtube! I don't think someone could get this started and quit out halfway through. Great book recommendations along with badass summaries.
One of The Best Videos I Have Ever Seen.
Very nice. Concise as can be and very informative thank you sir. Keep it up.
ur video is really good bro, it really help me a lot truly thank youuuuuu!
It seems the less "why?" you have, the heavier the bed gravity is. at least in my case xD
It's easier to get off bed when you have a seminar or a meeting ( because, to me, its a place where you can make some difference). getting out off bed when there is nothing but paper work waiting on your desk is a pain..
I'm in the process of changing that with the help of a friend and hoping it all works out, we'll know by the next month :D
+PermaFrost You might have stumbled on the next relativity theory right there. Haha. Love it man, keep me posted.
I do appreciate you for making these videos bro, I’m not going lie dude you mad funny 🤣

I love your videos, Been a barber for twenty years. I've held a master barbers license for 14 years . I assure you ,
I ain't a master of nothing. I'm buying the book through your link
Thank you, Jim. Much respect for the grind.
Great video, it's helping me. Thks a million.
Thank you for this. It's time to master myself... Reflecting on this with my own experience, I can see I'm on the right track, and am challenged every day to be humble yet bold; my work is never done. It is nice to see the steps to mastery laid out in this medium, I think it will help me lay much needed ground work, erect the pillars of my house, if you will.
Thank you for introducing this material to me.
Love this video. You're awesome!!!!
Another great one. Great animation. So true trial by fire.

I too share your passion for Robert Greene's work. Your videos are excellent distillations of his work. You don't get the views you deserve and I hope all your hard work pays off. Good Work and good luck! :)
+Ballzy Hey! Thank you for the kind words Ballzy. I'm trying to be patient and keep putting the work in with the hope more people get to watch them.
love your sense of expression lol great video
goosebumps after the opening story
So weird how some of the points you make in your video are just like those in my gaming guides or loosely relatable. I know you avoid gaming at any cost:) great video btw will encourage me to keep getting good grades at school, improving at sports, honing my body and skill in my hobbies.
You're a great influencer man! Keep up the good work😏😏😏
I had similar experience, it could also called the flow state. But from what I learnt, we cannot count on the flow state, it is better to pay attention, and learn from it, so we can use the skill and knowledge anytime as we wish
Good work! Keep it up!
Omg this was amazing !
I watch all your videos. All I have to say is: Thank you. Your work has genuinely touched me at a deep level.
William, I'm very happy you feel that way! Much appreciate your gratitude. All it takes is a little fire inside.

Thank you again!
The best book of my entire life
It's actually shows my condition and difficulties
Such a smart guy. Thanks for your summery of Robert Greene's 📚
Thanks for sharing!
Have you thought of doing a summary for the book Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
This summary is amazing! Two questions: 1) Would you say forced creativity is comparable to flow, or better? 2) How do you balance forced creativity and burn out?
+Euan Austin Great questions. 1) Can you please define *flow?* I haven't read the book yet. 2) You listen to your body, asides from taking good care of it, eating the right nutrition, exercising & getting enough sleep. When you go hard and push beyond your limits that aggressively, you have to refuel at some point. When you feel like you just can't keep up anymore, take a day off. Let the passivity happen, rather than try to force it (I struggle with this myself). It all comes down to step 1 of knowing yourself. You want to crush it, but you don't want to compromize your health. With time you'll build a kind of stamina that keeps you going longer.
+illacertus It's the equivalent of being in the zone, so your far more productive than you'd normally be. There's a study (I can't remember who buy) about the 10 000 hour rule-- it takes 10 000 hours to 'master' a craft. It found that top CEOs after 10 000 hours on the job spent far more time in flow state and could be ridiculously more productive. There is a book by Mihaly Csikczentmihaly called 'Flow' :) And secondly, thank you for your advice, I find it hard to balance flow/forced creativity and symptoms of burn out ! :)
Thank you for this summary bro
Robert Green! So inspiring
