Absolutely amazing summary! I was doing research on Robert Greene's biography before making the conscious choice to read the rest of his book. This is exactly the video I needed to watch, now I can move forward with a better understanding of what I'll get out of the book. Honestly the things I've been learning in the past week ever since I made the conscious decision to turn my life around have blown my mind. This video just about sums up my train of thought that I've been experiencing and trying to explain to my parents all in the past year. I took a book home from the UCLA library (even though I don't go to school there) that appealed to me because of a previous book I read. The string of suggestions has led me here to this video thus far, it's amazing how much more organized and disciplined I am ever since I decided to continuously take action to meet my set goals. To anyone reading, I highly recommend making goals for yourself, that you know will not only increase your confidence but also put you in a better place (whatever that means to you). Follow your goals, get shit down :) Struggle, pain, and difficulty is all part of the process --
Because you are committed...synchronicity is in action for you...good luck, I've no doubt "if we master massive discomfort ...we can achieve our hearts desires."
My mind just came up with that...I'm going to write it down so I never forget.
The Curiosity is the most important thing for attaining mastery. Great video!

I have listen to the audio version of this book. It was his best one. It explained the functionality of self help and how to combine skill already attained in to a new ability.

This book has been sitting in my closet and omg I'm going to read it today. I feel like it came at the perfect time because I did feel pressure to change my major for money but I know in the end it wouldn't make me happy. I know myself It would pay well to study in the medical field but its not what I'm interested in.

I remembered that first it was a computer after I was wondering about how to write a book. I created the whole world. Moreover,wrote a small story but after I gave up because thought that everyone was doing similar thing and shyness had an impact as well.

I think that the book give a lot of value to hard work. It's a reinassance way to se the world. I'm not so sure it works in the today world.
The strategy of securing your well-being by internalizing skills to the point of mastery is challenged by both AI and overpopulation. These trends impose a restructuring of society, while this attitude is doubling down on comfortable old paradigms. With the impending climate catastrophy and collapse of global industrial civilisation every time I look around and see people hoarding expertize I see a criminal mistake. In many cases we have the means to openly share those mental models that mastery consists of, in forms that can easily be picked up _and even directly used_ by almost anyone. Instead we are settling for the status quo of knowledge dissemination - books, videos, courses - which are designed to be stuffed into already-overloaded human brains, sometimes at great effort, only to have it wiped out by lack of practice or changing circumstance. We love experts, we're impressed by above average skills and knowledge, charisma is attractive. But what happens when that expert is unavailable, has an accident, goes away? We could do better in terms of scale and resilience. And I argue we should. We should liberate knowledge from the insides of individual brains and freely circulate it as if our civilisation depended on it, because it does.
Well it's 2020 Google Translate still sucks ass. So nope AI is not going to replace language translators any time soon. Languages are simply way too complicated for AI.
