Not certainly that, its the riverse! The more you remain cool & pretend to work as nothing bothers you, the more you create doubt and mystery and that's why the boss likes and wants to know more about that type of person

I see this all the time, the loud manager/executive demands work faster, take unnecessary risk, yells a lot, reduces staff resources to save money then takes credit for getting the major task done. If the decisions of the manager/executive causes unacceptable consequences, the workers are blamed
If you base your whole personality on just these rules then you’ll be like an empty vessel that’s achieved power. You have to mix these with the book of five ring, and know when to turn these on and off. That way you can still be a good person that has skills that you can use at any given moment

As you watch this video necessarily you don't have to incorporate all the laws into your life at least NOT all of them but rather be aware of those who can and will use against you. The more money you make, the more you spend. "Most" of the richest people are simply not content with their lives. Why? Because money can only make you happy for so long. Finished the book. While it's important to learn different perspectives, I think VERY FEW people should follow these principles. If you are a "win at all costs" kind of person that doesn't mind getting your hands dirty and hurting innocent people, then sure this book is for you. Even if you are that kind of person, there are two major issues I have with this book: 1) It doesn't focus on teamwork whatsoever. It's a SHARP contrast to a book like Extreme Ownership, where Navy Seal operatives always take blame for any team failure. In many cases, the team/company/business has to beat others; teamwork is ABSOLUTELY imperative in those cases. If a team of people who believe in 48 Laws competed against a team of people who believe in Extreme Ownership, I'm betting on the second team all day. 2) It doesn't factor in survivorship bias. The stories in this book are only success stories (or failures when people break the rules). I'm sure many, many believed in the principles and lost their careers or even lives (blaming others for everything, always hogging the success, being deceptive around others, etc). However, the failures never make it to stories we hear, only successes do.
I understand and utilize power games at times. My goal is not to obtain power but to decouple myself from people who pursue power and to be left the fuck alone. I don’t want to pull strings, and I don’t want strings attached to me.

True story I once worked at a place where the other guy go over me cause he was passing around balloons of heroin , then a coworker over dosed and died and they covered it all up, and because I" just said no" I was constantly harassed. My manager disliked me for frequently pointing out many issues that needed fixing. She became cold towards me and gave someone else the position she promised me, even though my ideas resulted in huge business improvements. I never understood why, but after listening to this, it looks like I had failed rule number 1.
I’m a menager in a large construction company and I despise many of the qualities listed here. I can easily pin point many situations where they were clearly presented and honestly most of them just bring out the foolishness of the people thinking that behavior like this will get them anywhere in the company.

I have theories about those who seek power for power's sake. They are usually vapid, soulless entities preying on societies' more noble ideals. If anything, understanding and identifying these empty individuals helps one become stronger in the inevitable confrontations that will ensue. True power comes from within, as it always has. Relying on the subjugation of others through external devices or circumstances just has people questioning your motives. People gravitate to those who possess inner strength. Most of these rules are truly cynical in practice and theory and anyone with a conscience should be apprehensive of anyone using them...

From what I've read and thought about myself, there's nothing wrong with falling back if it's a better move if you win in the long run. Make yourself able to destroy but avoid it for realistically your own/loved ones sake. Unless it's the other way around which is why it's needed. Maybe it might be between you/your loved ones or someone else and that's your only choice. I believe anyways we should always be able to protect what we love but not be aggressive towards others for nefarious means.
You get what you ask for. Power isn’t as great as it looks like from the outside. If it all goes to shit, they only have one person to point to. Everyone secretly hates your guts. Long hours. Stress. Backstabbers. Lazy employees. Lawsuits. Up and comers looking at your chair. Make sure you know what you’re getting into because these things are tough to get out of once you’ve achieved it. It’s not like you can just take a week off anytime you want.

Taking credit of other peoples work is not good. However, we see this in big influential people who market a product and get the attention but generally that person didn't do all the work. He hired others to help him. Ex..a corporate executive who takes the idea from the manager who then took from those subordinate

These set of power games is something we’re all implementing in some way or another. Consciously or unconsciously. The narcissist, the psychopath are experts on employing these techniques. Hence, Henry Kissinger was used as a prime example. The evil ways on how this world operates requires us to understand and learn the rules. The trick is not to lose ourselves in the process. This obviously isn’t for everyone. Most of us just don’t want to play into this exhausting bullcrap just to be able to afford a nice lifestyle. As a sigma female I take pleasure in understanding the power plays. 🙂
You need to be a very much unloved child to grow up this way. Psychologically normal people would pay a high price if they play by, even few, of these rules. Rather build your own business, and focus on growing it; it will pay back much more than these pathetic rules, which are fundamentally, made for the weak. Some of these are indeed sociopathic. I think the point is to enjoy the intrigue of ideas that are so amoral they're almost satirical and employ what makes sense to you and works for you in certain situations. I think most of us can agree that unfortunately some games must be played or we ourselves will be played. And that's just real life. This world is most dangerous and hurtful to those trying to be too altruistic and those who aren't observant, strategic, and emotionally intelligent.

I can't. This is manipulation, it was suggested to me , my ex read the whole thing multiple times and it was supposed to be to help so I didn't get into another abusive situation, but all it does is not resonate with me at all.
The book has critics. Its not proper to take other people credit for work. For example, we see this in workers employed. Any idea or successful work done by the employees goes to the manager then to the CEO. That's how the world is and this video bring light to this. Thanks for watching!

Do not just apply these so called laws into your life and your work. Look at the situation you are in and determine which one works best without hurting too much souls. Some of these laws are downright traitorous and people may remember and avenge. I think rule 49 should be "People are not stupid" that they can recognize any of these mannouvers and deem you untrustworthy.

My manager disliked me for frequently pointing out many issues that needed fixing. She became cold towards me and gave someone else the position she promised me, even though my ideas resulted in huge business improvements. I never understood why, but after listening to this, it looks like I had failed rule number 1.
I’m a menager in a large construction company and I despise many of the qualities listed here. I can easily pin point many situations where they were clearly presented and honestly most of them just bring out the foolishness of the people thinking that behavior like this will get them anywhere in the company.

@Newbpwng Yes. I work in the newspaper business. It is amazing how many people read the 48 laws of power and think that it is a book of strategy to get out of doing your job at work. You could be a much more valuable employee by learning how to do your job right instead of trying to manipulate everyone.

In the rules for the game of power u need to be the opposite of humble . My thoughts on it is . In the game of power u are always under threat. It easy to make enemies. Because of jealousy. people will want your wife/gf, People will want your money and your power. If u are a humble person that dont like bragging, showing off , not let people know what u have. Latch on to a rising person in the game of power is your key.

I have theories about those who seek power for power's sake. They are usually vapid, soulless entities preying on societies' more noble ideals. If anything, understanding and identifying these empty individuals helps one become stronger in the inevitable confrontations that will ensue. True power comes from within, as it always has. Relying on the subjugation of others through external devices or circumstances just has people questioning your motives. People gravitate to those who possess inner strength. Most of these rules are truly cynical in practice and theory and anyone with a conscience should be apprehensive of anyone using them...

Law 22 is my favorite a lot of niggas want to be rebilous but like you not in position to do that u need to know how surrender temporarily in order to survive. Have a plan to escape but leaving without a plan is stupid
From what I've read and thought about myself, there's nothing wrong with falling back if it's a better move if you win in the long run. Make yourself able to destroy but avoid it for realistically your own/loved ones sake. Unless it's the other way around which is why it's needed. Maybe it might be between you/your loved ones or someone else and that's your only choice. I believe anyways we should always be able to protect what we love but not be aggressive towards others for nefarious means.

You get what you ask for. Power isn’t as great as it looks like from the outside. If it all goes to shit, they only have one person to point to. Everyone secretly hates your guts. Long hours. Stress. Backstabbers. Lazy employees. Lawsuits. Up and comers looking at your chair.
Make sure you know what you’re getting into because these things are tough to get out of once you’ve achieved it. It’s not like you can just take a week off anytime you want.
I find it so hard to do some of these. They seem morally wrong.
I mean this is true when we meet normal people on the outside and on the street . But I feel that it should be used in the corporate world where you are surrounded by sharks.

Taking credit of other peoples work is not good. However, we see this in big influential people who market a product and get the attention but generally that person didn't do all the work. He hired others to help him. Ex..a corporate executive who takes the idea from the manager who then took from those subordinate

The evil ways on how this world operates requires us to understand and learn the rules.

Some of these are indeed sociopathic. I think the point is to enjoy the intrigue of ideas that are so amoral they're almost satirical and employ what makes sense to you and works for you in certain situations. I think most of us can agree that unfortunately some games must be played or we ourselves will be played. And that's just real life. This world is most dangerous and hurtful to those trying to be too altruistic and those who aren't observant, strategic, and emotionally intelligent.

Do not just apply these so called laws into your life and your work. Look at the situation you are in and determine which one works best without hurting too much souls. Some of these laws are downright traitorous and people may remember and avenge. I think rule 49 should be "People are not stupid" that they can recognize any of these mannouvers and deem you untrustworthy.
