Just started following you, love from nor cal,ya,love videos, pretty damn legit!!!! Been roofing for almost 30 years, commercial and residential, good work bud!!!
Yes cricket needed, Overall it looks good, but some of the counter flashing not making me feel real confidant. What's up with the rubber on the cast iron plumbing stack? (at least it doesn't appear to be a Pvc boot) Never used O/W ridge vent, isn't their supposed to be some foam on the end?
I’ve heard that if you have ridge vent and turtle vents together that the air movement dynamics change and the ridge vent doesn’t do it’s job that well. Wonder if that’s true.
On the last ridge vent cap I would cement it instead of 4 nails with caulk on top. Tacky. JS. Also should have cricket behind any chimney over 26". Curious what you pay subs to install shingles? Much Love Be Safe.
@@MrLegit No need for nails. Laminate cement to both shingle pieces put in place with a lil push, voila looks cleaner. I've roofed in FL since 88. I live in TN now. All i can say is 😟😟. Tried working for HEP, and KING roofing. It's disappointing to see the workmanship.
Bro... I have landed a job as an inspector and I thought shit was sweet CAT team and all... turns out Im scared of steep pitches and sketch ladders.. I have a couple days to conquer the fear and make $$$$.... am I over thinking it?
@@bobbygolding2859 it depends where you live man. Vans are perfect for dry weather on 7 and 8s. Especially when it's hot, vans won't scar the roof. Cougar paws are wack IMHO. Get some cheap hiking boots from Big 5 bud. If your in the rain.
Too much exposure? If too much is exposed, it could eventually leak. It's poor workmanship, but it will probably be fine if a little is exposed. Good luck.
silly west coast roofers and their weird intake vents and open valleys!!! lmao i have only seen those intake vents like that one time in thousands of roofs! why do you guys use them and is it required in your area for some reason and not mine?
We add them on every roof we touch because I don't want to be responsible for intake issues. When we leave the roof it's bullet proof. It's not standard to do it like this, but then again we're far from standard.
@@MrLegit it just isnt normal practice around here... is it an upsell? i am sure i could use it in my sales tactic.... im just wondering if you are the only one doing it or are most competitors doing the same?
@@Lifes_Apprentice just a few of us do the full system. We don't upsell. The price is the same because we use the same accessories and OC duration or higher on every roof we touch. We offer 1 roof that's it.
The bricklayer should have put a cricket behind the chimney. Great video and demonstration of your quality.

What’s the point of doing 2 layers of felt? Doesn’t seem like it does anything when you should be putting 2 courses of ice and water?
reuse the chimney counter flashings, nice
How does one get in touch with a local OC Rep for an inspection? Portland Oregon. Thank you.
I’ve heard that if you have ridge vent and turtle vents together that the air movement dynamics change and the ridge vent doesn’t do it’s job that well. Wonder if that’s true.
That is correct, you want to stick with one system.

The cemet on the last shingle is top notch bro. We pay around 110-120 for basic 1 layer tear off install. Then all the miscellaneous stuff.

@@Mike-jn2hn real talk mike!
What company makes your ridge and intake venting? Nice look to it
Thanks man! Everything you see except the metal is made by Owens Corning. That's why we get random inspections by them.
Just curious, who is the artist that performs the music that begins at 7:42? It's great background music
Contractor plugged my box vents and is Installing a ridge vent. The roof is 3:12 why does Owen's advise against it? Ty
Does he look at every job. Or how often?
It's all random bud. It seems to be about every 6 months. 3-4 homes on every inspection.
Good stuff
Thanks my guy.

Don't look down and you'll be fine. Sketch ladders suck. Fiberglass or bust.
Mr. Legit Roofing Expert we’ll see, I thought 100k a year would make the fear part easy but.. 😂😂😂
