    Awwwwcrap!!! Just when ive got my mind set on the WA73 eq, got the money set aside, got the ok from the wife... Warm Audio has to go and make me have to start the whole process over again. This looks just amazing and is truly a tool I want in my studios tool box to shape and define vocal tones. Thanks Warm.... I think... 🤦‍♂️

      What u get?! Both?! Im torn between the 73 (no eq) and this for the same price. I like the fact theres more control for diff options on the tonebeast but idk if they'll even add much vs the 73 lol which is why I gotta research

      i'd like to have a mic and guitar/bass preamp to improve my home studio recordings. I'm considering the universal audio 610 and this warm sound beast black or orange. which one do you think would suits me the best considering that i have only one instrument at a time...?

    Thanks for the vid, I’ve been eying this thing for a while, and I think it’s gonna be the one for me.
    Quick question. When recording guitar, is it still advised to put a DI box before the preamp to remove unwanted noise ? Or will the preamp take care of it ?

    • @toomuchfandango
      @toomuchfandango 22 дні тому +1

      looks like the thing has a di inbuilt, which is the instrument input quarter inch. adding your own di box would just go thru the mic xlr input instead. should be no noise at all either way....

      Paul Corben depends on how many mic or line inputs you need, mics / preamps you will record simultaneously. Look at UAD Apollo, Apogee Symphony Or Ensemble, Motu, Rme, Audient, there are many brands depending on your budget.

      Hey Tony! If you're looking for a super clean, transparent preamp, our 12-style preamps are the way to go. If you want a subtle touch of warmth, I'd go with our 73-style preamps. The WA-MPX is a tube preamp that offers both clean & saturated options. A lot more versatility! Hope this helps.

    These videos are incredibly helpful, thank you! I’m curious if the tone button would have the same effect on an active ribbon mic, or if it only really changes the tone of passive ribbons, dynamic mics, etc.? Also, would this preamp effect passive ribbons more in general by adding more color when saturated, than it would an active ribbon mic? Any info is greatly appreciated!

    • @legacyShredder1
      @legacyShredder1 Рік тому +1

      The tone button changes the impedance selection between 150 and 600 Ohms, which can be valuable for any mic, but it's more apparent on passive ribbons and dynamic mics. You're going to see a gain boost with basically every mic when using the tone button option. Both passive and active ribbon mics can be saturated equally with this unit. To get more color on the active ribbon just engage the pad so you have more dynamic headroom with the gain on the preamp itself to sculpt in any way that you see fit. You can go more extreme with an active ribbon due to the volume boost, but at that point it becomes an effect.
      Hope this helps.

    For the love of God, I can't find a single demo of somebody using this to make "classic" sounding rock anywhere, which is a shame- because it's emulating 60's/70's hardware. UA-cam is proliferated with videos of people just talking about the buttons and playing horrible singer-songwriter acoustic guitar on it- or worse, country. Is it to much to ask to hear some fucking riffs through the thing, like how it would've been used back in the day.
