I use my two TB 12 units with my Tascam 8 track cassette and fostex 8 track reel to reel machines...these warm audio units sound so much better when used with tape machines instead of computers. I'm very pleased with with the TB 12's. Thank you warm audio!!!!
Hey, we love analog too!
Just got the Tone Beast, hope it lives up to the hype it gets. Had a few Warm Audio tube mics in my studio that didn't live up to the hype.
Joe, that's such a cool video! :) Thanks so much!
Lovely preamp, its like an armyknife in the studio. Sounds 👌👍
This piece seems cool, but just want to shout out to your obvious mad skills Joe and the quality of the source performers/instruments.
You have a great studio Sir!
Thank you very much for the review. I am planning to buy this. I have Neumann tlm 103 microphone and Audient id 14 interface. I always record indian vocals. So can I buy this? Will this work well with my setup?
Hey Shravan! Yes, the Tone Beast 12 will work perfectly with your Neumann mic & Audient interface.
Do you already know which dealer sells locally for you? I can help you track that down as well if you confirm which country you live in. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Anything different between this and the orange face unit besides the color? Tried looking on the website but I may have overlooked it.
Internal power and new sleek cosmetics. No change to the components.
@@WarmAudioOfficial ok cool! Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it!
@@WarmAudioOfficial So there is no reason to upgrade the old one, that I have. Great sounding unit.
Got to pay off this other thing and then I'm getting it. Dang bills!!!
Would it be good with hip hop/ Rap music?
Hi Joe. First off all, great videos....
I am considering purchasing the Warm Audio Tonebeast TB12 Black. I currently have a Audient ID14 Audio Inteface. I recently came across info from Audient stating that the pre-amps on the Audient ID14 can't be bypassed and that the Tonebeast signal will still be passed through the pre-amps of the Audient ID14 even though the line input is utilized. Apparently this will color the sound of the Tonebeast. In your opinion, do you think the pre-amps on the Audient ID14 will have a negative impact on the tone of the Tonebeast? Your reply will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I like the looks of the black face a lot better.
I want to buy a microphone preamp. Between the Warm audio TB12 and wa73… I have the Neumann tlm 103 and the SSL2, which one should I get for hip hop vocals recording? The TB12 or the WA73?
Hi Karabo! I've given you my feedback through the IG DM. I'll let the community chime in as well so you can have some additional opinions. Best of luck!
Would this preamp sound good with the tlm 49
Yes! Although, we recommend the Warm line of condenser mics. ;)
I am planning to buy this, but I have a big question, can we use this for lead vocals because in the website it is mentioned for background vocals. So can anyone help me out regarding that?
Hi Shravan. I answered this question for you last week. Do you have all the information you need?
@@WarmAudioOfficial ya, but today I went through the details in the website. So when I was going through it, it was 'background vocals' there. So I was confused. Now I am satisfied. Thank you very much for your support and guidance.
What is a good AD converter to be able to integrate them into my Daw. Could I use the UAD apollo 8 and bypass the preamps 🤔
Yeah with line in
I have to admit, I'm quite disappointed by the tone options. I ordered two units and they're far from beastly in their tone variety. Yes, you can have different flavors of color with these choices, however, i had to CRANK the input to almost maximum to get any coloration.
Tested it with a whole mix, with a sine wave, and on the mix, the difference was only present when already distorting.
On the flip side, you get like 60dB of absolutely clean pre-amp gain, which can be nice, too. Super low noise floor.
This has also been my experience. Overall, I do like the unit and continue to use it but the tone options are subtle, at best.
really man? I was planning on purchasing this but was unsure about precisely this. if it just smells like flavor and isnt actually flavor thats a bummer. ive already got a really nice m101 preamp and was really just looking forward to hearing vocals pushed through this. but I mean it sounds like I could get the flavor out of a few plugins. you change your mind recently about this?
@@flipnap2112 Nope. Sent them back after being disappointed.
@@matts.1190 dam man, thanks for the feedback
You'll never sell anything like this, play audio and fiddle with it
Just look up tutorials. I feel like this is just an introduction to the peoduct
Say "this guy" about an inanimate object one more time. I dare you.
Love the pre-amp, really can't stand the generic paint-by-numbers pop-country song
