29:32 not really i will tell you my story. First of all i bought the game in 2020 and beating 0 bc was the hardest thing to acchive it took me more than a month but i managed to do it, and then came 1bc which took a while but i beat it in the end, and then came my worst nightmare 2bc, i got stuck in 2bc for more than 3 or 4 months until i rage quit and left the game and never played it again. 4 years later i decide that i wanna go back to playing dead cells, i restart from 0bc and beat it easily and then i go and do some research just a small amount of youtube videos from you and other dead cells youtubers, and then i realized... All this game about is scrolls that's it get scrolls and you win if you see a cursed chest immediately open it don't even think about it if you see a challenge rift do not think about the consequences just enter it. so i went to the wiki looked for the path with most scrolls (prison quarters, toxic sewers, corrupted prison, ancient sewers, insufferable Crypt, graveyard, cavern, Guardian's Haven, and then immediately throne room by skipping high peak castle and still getting the 2 scrolls) After following this route i beat 1bc in 1 day and 2bc my nightmare i beat it in only 2 days and then 3bc in 4 days or so and then 4bc next week. within less than 2 weeks I reached 5bc and tbh i wasn't proud about it the game suddenly became super easy well not completely easy but way easier than what i remember from 2020. Now i am at 5bc and i can tell for sure the game suddenly became very hard to the point where i haven't reached hand of the king even once since i got to 5bc, of course if i give it my all i think i can beat 5bc in about 2 or 3 weeks but i am lazy. Anyway my tips for beating all the lower difficulties than 5bc is to simply: 1: put all your scrolls in one color 2: pick all of your 4 equipments from 1 color 3: try to upgrade the forge as much as you can 4: learn all the bosses attack patterns and how to dodge and parry them, once you do they barely do any damage to the point where i take more damage in biomes than boss rooms 5: pick as much scrolls as you can (if you want you can follow the route that i wrote) 6: pick any cursed chest that you see 7: enter any challenge rift you find 8: learn how to utilize the Spider rune it's very usefull 9: also learn how to utilize the homunculus rune it can come handy sometimes 10: and finally learn how to dodge and parry These are my tips for 4bc and lower and trust me it's very easy.
I love this comment! Your checklist basically sums up my entire tutorial series in one concise list. Good luck with your 5BC runs and thank you for sharing this!
Dude I just finished 0bc and got sucked into your videos. The quality of these guides are amazing!!! New to this game and loving it. When you look in from the outside the game may not look like much but it’s incredibly deep and satisfying to play
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying the guides and that they've been helpful. You bring up a great point about the deceptive complexity of the game - there's so much to uncover and explore. Good luck with your runs!
Bro your videos are amazing. extremly high quality videos and so many! i recently got dead cells and im so happy i can watch a calm and professional youtuber for this awesome game. its heartbreaking you dont get more views. thank you :)
Thank you! Dead Cells is great, hopefully you have lots of fun playing it. It's cool about the view count, I'm just glad I could make these and help out :D
I beat from 1bc to 5bc in a week thanks to your videos, really helpful! Some things that I learnt on the journey that I think werent included in the video: -Do not attack mindlessly. This takes a while to learn but you dont need to keep attacking all the time, especially in 4/5 bc were hits are very punishing, basically dont get greedy and learn when to punish enemies. -In high bc obly use your flask when you are about to die or are in the endgame, in most levels there is food hidden in the walls or as enemy drop and you can save flask charges with it, this is even more important in biomes with food shop -The malaise in 5bc isnt a huge threat, its a minor inconvenience to intimidate you and condition you to be faster, dont fall for it. Sure you cant go super slow but you dont need to go like a speedrun either, you can play it safe if you need to as long as you keep moving and fighting enemies. Very rarely you will get more than 5 bars, clear malaise in every biome and get the syrup and you will be fine
Right now my biggest weakness is have to play it on a cellphone. I'm already playing at 5BC and got to Observatory consistently, but oh boy, that is BRUTAL!! Thaks for the tips, amazing guide
I can only imagine! I have no idea how mobile players can do it - I can barely send a text without spelling something wrong. Playing on mobile is actually 6BC :D
@@DisappointedGiant oh you would be surprised by the number of times an attempted double jump turns into a slamdunk into spikes or a panic click attempt on a shield turns into a click into nothingness and you getting punked. We have an extra degree of trouble thanks to touch screen settings.
After being stuck in 2BC for over a year… my dude, I got to 5BC in under a week thanks to your videos. I just did half a run in 5BC cause I panicked about the malaise, but I’m super pumped to try and get at least to the observatory now. Thank you!!!
Thanks a lot for a new videos of Dead Cells! I achieved already 4 BS and it was insane to achieve it. Now ofc i am straggling again in 4 BS but man, what a beautiful game. Everyday i practice between 5-10 runs in 4 BS to be prepared for the next stage. Thanks a lot for your videos man!
Great video. Your explanations were clear and concise, and your voice made the content even more engaging. Keep up the great work, and looking forward to more content from you!
I don't know why, but a part that really helped me actually beat 5bc is literally just mindset. I could barely even get past like ancient sewers. Yet the moment i was showing dead cells to my friend, i said to myself "ok i need to win because i want to prove my friend i am good at the game", and then suddenly i am 100% focused on playing as "competitively" as possible rather than casually. That, on top of my luck, and i suddenly beaten all of 5 bc and killed collector first try. I completely no-hit both of the challenge rifts i encountered and practically no-hit all biomes, except for taking incredibly minor hits like 1 damage poison puddles. Or have them blocked by foresight. I also flawlessly beat conjuctivius for the 2nd time(and for some reason only now got the flawless achievement). The first time i got a major hit was in the graveyard to a pit of spikes. Then proceeded to recover it from a quaranteed food item. I did this on BRUTALITY and not my usual survival. And the first time i used a health flask was all the way in the biome before the collector. Only to buy it again at the shopkeep and have 4 again. I got like 4 extra power scrolls from luck and great affixes. Then completely destroyed collector in like 30 seconds with my multi-hit combo legendary knife dance poison affix Abyssal trident "build". I did however end up chugging away 3 entire flask charges. I have NO idea why i both suddenly developed superpowers and the game just decided to bless me with top tier gear and all the scrolls. Beating the game at 35 brutality and only getting unlucky with amulets. THEN on the same day did another few 5 bc runs and after like 3 attempts did another succesfull attempt at 5 bc and beat the queen despite accidentally picking 2 entire off-color scrolls. While yesterday i occassionally died in prisoner's quarters. I would say if yiu want to beat 5 bc and improve, then you REALLY need to aim for it and not just "play the game". Though i will admit that with a mindset like this, the game becomes a lot closer to "delayed gratification". And you might have to practice anger control in that case. Even if i personally somehow raged less with my new adopted mindset.
Thank you for sharing all of this. It sounds like quite the journey! Funny how a shift in perspective can change so much, yeah? I have a friend who's in the middle of 4BC now and was talking about how he's trying to play to learn and farm instead of trying to win, which helps with controlling some of the frustration. What you described is part of the beauty of Dead Cells - sometimes things just line up both with you and the game and all of a sudden you've creamed the Collector in record time and your friend is sitting there seeing you as the pro you've become. Congrats on your 5BC wins!
Great Vid Giant. I personally like going PQ>TS>CoPr>AS>IC>SS>Cav>Castle>TR since it provides the most scrolls and scroll frags, but sometimes I’ll substitute slumbering for Graveyard if I need health/cough syrup and Caverns for sepulcher if my build can’t handle anti-CC.
That's a great route right there! I appreciate that no matter what route you take there's always a food shop in one of the biomes after the first boss. I find that taking Sepulcher instead of Cavern is also quicker since it's a smaller map. Cavern gets huge! (PS: I'm sorry for the late reply here, I've just started catching up on my comments from the past week or so!)
Dude thanks so much for all these guides. They motivated me to finally beat 5BC and get the true ending. This game has become one of my all time favorites. What games do you recommend that are on this level?
Congrats! Huge W on getting through 5BC twice for that true ending. There isn't another game that I have that hits the same way that Dead Cells does but my other favorite roguelites are Hades, Enter the Gungeon, and Returnal. All super different but I really enjoy all of them in their own way. For me Dead Cells was one of those games that changes how I look at other games. Rogue Prince of Persia is in early access and is probably the closest we're going to get to a Dead Cells 2.
@@DisappointedGiant Appreciate the reply brother. Enter the gungeon looks awesome. Ill give prince of persia a look as well. I agree its hard to replicate how good this game is.

Good for you! That's why it's there, so people can have fun with the game no matter the difficulty level. Thank you for sharing, I hope you've been enjoying the game!
BC is boss cells, which is the game's difficulty level. You get a boss cell when you beat the game, which allows you increase the difficulty all the way to 5BC (the hardest). If you're just starting the game I recommend checking out my tutorial playlist (starting at 0BC): ua-cam.com/play/PLh6h64y_RcdxIKrd5md7kJ9S6mYNpA_bO.html
The old malaise system was needlessly punishing. I hear you though - unless I'm eating infected food or taking my sweet time the malaise isn't too noticeable at this point. It was brutal getting used to, though!
Just commenting here to say I made it to 5bc and it expose my biggest problem with this game, each run is way too damn long, by the time I get to Astro Lab I am resource starved and keep dying before getting to learn the level
Great point. I didn't think of this when I was putting the guide together but runs can get super long and by the time you get to the 'lab it might be an hour in with no potions left. Do you think it would be helpful to have a video showing the full biome so folks can be more prepared for it?
@@DisappointedGiant yeah that would be great, I do still think runs are too long in general though even with ability to quit out I find that doing so just ruin my rhythm when I jump back in so I pretty much have to do all runs on one sitting, wish the game had a similar length to Hades singular runs, but meh sure I'll clear 5bc eventually after clearing 2 and 3 it's been mostly smooth sailing
@@generaldane I feel that, too! Sometimes I play half a run and then quit out so I can come back later and when I load back in I have some trouble getting back into the groove. Been playing a lot of Hades myself recently and I feel like the length of those runs are just right.

I’ll be honest, I don’t even notice malaise anymore. I like the new system way better than the old malaise
You should have said more often spoiler
