Pretty sure you will have to sell the motherboard as well. I don't think Threadripper uses AM4.

+John Smith yeah! I hope not haha well we will see. If that's the case I'm staying with this CPU which is still great! :)

You wont expect this coming from me since i love AMD and i will always support them for there awesome pricing and products they deliver but at this stage you went all out on 2 1080TI... I think that an Intel Chip at this point will be best if not an i7 wait for there new i9 coming out which i hear is going to be a 16 core also maybe more, But one thing i do know is there price is going to be over $1000. Reviewers say that the AMD 1800X bottlenecks the 1080TI, Thats just one card dunno if its true but there reviewing CPUs and GPUs working together. I myself have the 1600X and i love it, have it paired with my RX480. AMD Threadripper is going to be awesome but not sure if the architecture is changing much since it is based still on ZEN, But im hoping is going to be an Awesome chip. I will be upgrading again XD. But anyways just trying to steer you in the right Direction and i stick to those reviewers like glue and sometimes i hate what they say against AMD but for the price/performance you get we cant complain. But AMD did say and are known to keep there sockets alive for up to 4-5 years so Threadripper should be on AM4 but Naples is a server chip and that will be a new socket.
Anyway love your build what you choose is up to you Hope it will be AMD since there awesome but like they say it might bottleneck hope it wont Goodluck!!
