Blame the influence of Aubrey Sitterson, a.k.a. "Awful Shitterson" and his I.D.W. female diversity G.I. Jane feminist comic book Scarlett's Strike Force, which was originally supposed to be called G.I. Joe: Unmasked, and it was supposed be an I.D.W. crossover with M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) with Gloria Baker from M.A.S.K. and Vanessa Warchild from V.E.N.O.M. eventually becoming involved. But it never really panned out as it was originally planned. Generally speaking, it was all about a "woman power! Yeah!" story featuring Scarlett, Cover Girl, Lady Jaye and Jinx, the female members of G.I. Joe as an all-female taskforce going against the Baroness and Zarana, the female members of Cobra, who are now a mercenary team, and the introduction of various other all-different, all-new, and all-powerful female diversity characters who are also all about Black Indigenous People Of Color inclusivity and L.G.B.T.Q. + representation. Why? Because reasons, and "yasss, Queen! Slay! So stunning and brave!" 🙄😒

Space Ghost was my favorite read of the week. I have seen the old Hanna Barbera toon from time to time so I know about the Jace Jan and Blip. So excited to see Zorak and Moltar in the book since we already got Brak.
Saw that "Scarlett" dud coming with the announcement of Thompson as the writer. Passed on that one, and from what I've heard here (and elsewhere), glad I did. Surprised that "Wolverine: BH" made this list. I had already decided to skip the event (event fatigue - just not interested in vampires in my superhero comics), but if I see that Wolvie issue on sale, may pick it up. Looking forward to checking out "Ultimates" to see if it's as appealing as "USM" and "UBP" were on release.
I didn’t have much this week from my pull. On the other hand, I picked up a Metal Cover variant for Geiger #1 at Dallas Fan Expo. It’s very nice, and expensive. Good vid.
For Kneel Before Zod, I like that Zod was able to find a way to escape the intergalactic prison before he encountered the Emerald Empress in the final page. I wonder if she would recall everything throughout her entire life, including fighting the Original Legion of Super-Heroes by forming the Fatal Five and fighting Kara Zor-El Supergirl in National City during DC Rebirth, in upcoming issues of this series. For The Boy Wonder, I like that Damian and Jason teamed up to fight a mysterious criminal before Damian was able to reason with Jason that Bruce blamed himself for his death and failure and that Jason is not alone. Overall, this comic is good. For MAWS, I like that Lois and Jimmy tried to cheer Clark up by celebrating Christmas in Metropolis before Clark encountered someone who needs to save him before he met Bloodsport. Also, Ron, Cat, and Steve, talking to each other about Clark and Lois before that had to deal with Clark talking about his mom’s pies. This comic is a great start after the events it season one of MAWS, and Josie Campbell has done a great job with this issue. Overall, this comic is great! For Shazam, I find it sad that Billy learned that his mom is in a better place and is living the good life after finding someone and having their son, and that Captain Marvel didn’t tell him that because he wanted to protect him from getting hurt. Let’s hope that Mary, Freddy, Darla, Eugene, Pedro, and Hoppy will find Billy and Cap and make sure that Billy Will accepted them as his true family. Also, Billy’s mom should’ve remembered her pre-Crisis death via car accident in 1927 and pre-Flashpoint death by Theo Adam instead of retaining her post-Flashpoint history and continuity. Overall, this comic is good, and Josie Campbell has done a good job with this storyline. For Batman, I like that Bruce talked to his family about the mistakes that he did over the past year or so and made amends for what he’s done to them, including Jason. I also like that the entire Batman Family worked together to defeat Zur, a clone of Bruce who became Robin, and one of Bruce’s mentors. The one thing I can criticize is Tim’s recent Robin suit because it looks off and that I prefer him wearing his original pre-Flashpoint Red Robin suit because it’s a sign of maturity, evolution, and character growth. Overall, this comic is good! For Birds of Prey, the good things about this comic are the Birds of Prey teaming up with a person named Cela to find Barbara and defeat Cela’s sister Maia, who is (or will be) responsible for killing Barbara because she killed her mother the Red Tiger. I like that Barda’s mind shows her and the rest of the Birds of Prey be like the 1950s because she imagined living a domesticated life with Scott since they’ve met; it’s interesting. The few things I can criticize are Red Velvet (a Barbara Gordon villain who encountered her since 1982 and again during the Burnside era) having septuplets in the future, even though timeline and age-wise she would be in her 50s (with Barbara being in her early 60s, since she made her debut as the Original Batgirl in 1966 at 27 years old) by now and in her 70s in Maia and Cela’s timeline. Another thing I can criticize is Barda speaking in third person, even though she hasn’t done it before (unless I missed something). The art is good and the writing is interesting. Overall, this comic is good! For Poison Ivy, I like that Harley tried to save Ivy before she was able to save Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, and Janet from HR and teamed up with Red Hood to save Ivy and defeat the Floronic Man. Also, I find it hilarious and self-aware that Janet thinks that she’s the main character of this story (even thought she’s not because it’s Ivy’s story since it’s her own series) and knows that she’s just a useless background character everyone forgets because nobody wants her and that she’s useless. Overall, this comic is okay. For ASM, even though Peter was transformed into the Spider-Goblin to continue from the last issue, the good things about this comic are him battling the Sinister Six before Ben Reilly arrives and tries to save him because they’re brothers. I like that the Sinister Six used their abilities to try and defeat the Spider-Goblin after learning that Norman’s Green Goblin side has returned before Kraven tried to remove the sins from Peter, since he thinks that the sins are inside Peter. The one thing I can criticize is Kamala Khan because I think that it is to continue her appearance in this comic since her unnecessary death last year and that Zeb Wells wants to do something with her, even though a lot of fans don’t want her in ASM because he hardly knew Peter. Overall, this comic is starting to get interesting! Also, Living Brain attacking J. Jonah Jameson. For Blood Hunters, here is what I have to say. For the Hulk backup, I like that Bruce and Hulk were defeating vampires while recounting their childhood about them being forced to kill their dog because they had no choice. I feel bad that Bruce had to shoot his dog because he has no choice and that it’s the only way for them to survive. For the Hawkeye backup, I like that Kate, Dante, and Pizza Dog worked together to defeat the vampires while dealing with their version of the Shining Twins. For the final backup, I like that we get to see a flashback of Elsa trying to stop Morbius from hurting anyone before she was able to team up with Dagger to save Yelena from harm and Dagger becoming a vampire in the final page. It’s interesting. For What If…? Venom, I like that Mr. Knight (with the Venom Symbiote) was able to free Loki from Venom before Dr. Strange, Jennifer, and Logan took care of the Venom symbiote. It’s a nice conclusion to this miniseries. Overall, this comic is good!

I've read both Scarlet and Space Ghost #2. While I think both are fine, I don't understand how Scarlet has a bad review while Space Ghost has a recommendation, other than the fact that Scarlets bad review was telegraphed on this channel like a month before the book even came out.
@@Wes_From_TC I dunno man.. the Space Ghost art was a little sketchy, and the characters weren't always on model.. Look at Jans watermelon head in the final spash page. Story-wise, Space Ghost feels like off-brand Batman in Space. I mean it was fine, but I can't say it was objectively better than Scarlet.
taking out 40 samurai... one of the major aspects of G.I. Joe is they always seem to be close to defeat as individuals but it is them being a team that always allow them to survive and thrive. None of them are taking out 40 warriors and it is sad that something that seemed to be so flawless this far in fell flat on its face.

Hmmm, starting to look like a Mary Sue in the making which is not what fans of GI Joe wanted. On a huge side note IF you want to make money and you are doing a GI Joe story on solo characters, two at a time, how do you not pick Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and intertwine their books with a silent issue as a nod to GI Joe issue #21, Silent Interlude? From my understanding there will not be anymore solo books after Scarlett and Destro and the story will move on to a regular GI Joe book. Huge swing and miss leaving out two characters that would sell books IF this is the case and I hope they know what they are doing with this Scarlett story as I am willing to see it out (being only five issues) but truth be told it is because of Storm Shadow. At this point I hope they can reel it back in with Scarlett but I think the genie is out of the bottle and can see this title dropping off real fast IF they keep up the invincible Scarlett as shown in issue #1. For those who want to reply with remarks such as this is because Scarlett is a woman, I say read the original Marvel GI Joe run (or more so GI Joe Yearbook #3). In yearbook #3 Scarlett saves both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (and this is the second silent story like the one we got in issue #21). As a matter of fact issue #21 Snake Eyes is coming to the aid of Scarlett only by story end we see Scarlett coming to the aid of Snake Eyes. At the end of the day it is all about story writing and Scarlett issue #1 has really put itself behind the eight ball.

The Ultimates (2024) issue 1 is awesome for me.This book is setting up to be an epic one. With heroes trying to bring back what they lost and at the same time fight against the world that the maker created in his image. I am thoroughly enjoy hickman's ultimate universe, I have hope it will continue to be this good for a while.
Sorry to hear you didn't like Scarlett. The art for me was hit or miss throughout the issue, but I really liked the story. We were introduced to more Joe characters, including lesser known ones like Hardmaster. I liked seeing the friendship between her and Jinx in the flashbacks. I liked how she did her own thing because she felt it was the right thing to do. Not a miss for me...outside of the art.
The problem with the Ultimates comic is that you are not getting a good feel for the characters and it relies almost entirely from what you know about them from the mainline universe. even worse, for some of them, like Hank Pym for example, their entire character relies on the contrast between how he is in the main 616 universe. the only one that we do get to somehow explore in a unique way is Tony, though even that is mostly done by exposition boxes. (also, who would willingly call himself "Iron-Lad"?! even just to contrast himself from his father)
Just finished Scarlett. I actually really liked it. Fun story and the art wasn’t terrible. So far, for me, Transformers has been the weakest of the Energon Universe but I’m going to give it another shot.
I'm pretty sure it's heavily implied that Scarlett and Jinx were in a relationship together and not just "roommates" Which is fine I guess (I don't really have too much prior knowledge of previous versions of these characters) what is less fine is that we are not really given much info to care about Scarlett's mission (what exactly is her goal beyond infiltrating the Ninja clan? why did Jinx join the Ninja Clan? )
Jynx was born into the clan. She is a cousin to Storm Shadow and a niece? to the Hard and Soft Master. The exact family tree was never made very clear.

I liked the idea of the energon universe but as a transformers fan only it gets annoying trying to keep up with the gi joe stuff.i am sorry to all the gi joe fans but I don't really care about cobra commander trying to fix megatron you could replace cobra commander with just a generic scientist trying to fix him ,as a side plot in the end of every transformers issue and nothing would really change.
Is Kelly Thompson the most overrated writer working in comics today? (Actually Tom King or Tom Taylor probably take that accolade). I very much enjoyed Thompson’s Hawkeye book and also her Jessica Jones run, but she’s been a let down since. I read the first trades of Black Cloak and The Cull, both of which were average, shallow and forgettable; I don’t think I even finished that volume of Black Cloak. Then I see she’s up for an Eisner and fruit loops everywhere are recommending them. Although when taking a look at who is recommending then it’s mostly comic book tourist types

What would deter me was not the long title but the fact that it’s by Duggan. If anyone knows anime and manga some of the titles run on but are great. I really hope Scarlett gets better but I don’t think Thompson knows GI Joe. I would like to be proven wrong.
Some of the manga titles are actually full sentences, here’s one I was looking at buying today “BACKSTABBED IN A BACKWATER DUNGEON: MY PARTY TRIED TO KILL ME, BUT THANKS TO AN INFINITE GACHA I GOT LVL 9999 FRIENDS AND AM OUT FOR REVENGE”. That’s the title, and that’s not even the longest title I’ve seen, others are even longer.

That whole first scene in Scarlett was a confusing mess. The transitions from panel to panel were so jarring it felt like pages were missing and it's so heavily implied that Scarlett and Jinx are lovers that I'll be shocked if they're not. The amount of time spent establishing how close they are and how they developed their "secret language" was absurd and completely unnecessary. It felt like the only editorial outline Thompson got beforehand was 'Scarlett does some stuff for 20 pages. Storm Shadow on last page'. When I noticed Scarlett's gauged earlobes I immediately took it as a bad omen. Between that and the 'only girls are allowed to write girl characters' trend not getting bucked I worried Scarlett might be the title that marks a quality decline in the EU. Hopefully it's just a one-off and the rest of the EU books continue to be amazing but I'm starting to get worried.
The best comic for me this week was Ultimates #1. I really enjoyed it. That said, I agree with Wes that the bit about heroes killing themselves was confusing. I also agree that Mark Millars Ultimates is still better and creates a high benchmark that most likely wont be matched.
F'n Hell! Seriously! Overseas stores CANNOT afford to buy shit stock, it costs them too much... They hesitate and won't bet at all, so everything beyond The Two is in micro-doses (at best). None of these GI JOE or TF books are hitting shelves, they are all 'ask for' with proven loyal customers. I have a heap of comics to read, when I commit to asking for this, in means the whole mini-series and it costs me. Is the Energon Universe just going to flop into nothingness (like everything else that is modern) by hiring PROVEN DUDS?

Louise Simonson wrote some of the best New Mutants stuff and Superman stuff. Ann Nocenti has a Daredevil run people clamored for. Jo Duffy still gets praise for her work on Star Wars and Conan the Barbarian. Women can write comics because comics are meant for everyone.
A good book or two doesn't justify support the big two. That is a miserable, pathetic and unexcusable average. The GET FURY is well-written but is hurt by the cartoonist art. NOT the right artist for this title. CREATURE OF THE BLACK LAGOON LIVES! #2 is a very good read! Beautifully drawn, colored and tightly written!

Oddly enough, with DC, their monthly titles are in a real mess, but their specials and limited series seem to be real winners. At Marvel the only decent ongoing series is Dr. Strange. The only other titles l look forward to is Conan and Usagi Yojimbo.

For Batman, I like that Bruce talked to his family about the mistakes that he did over the past year or so and made amends for what he’s done to them, including Jason. I also like that the entire Batman Family worked together to defeat Zur, a clone of Bruce who became Robin, and one of Bruce’s mentors. The one thing I can criticize is Tim’s recent Robin suit because it looks off and that I prefer him wearing his original pre-Flashpoint Red Robin suit because it’s a sign of maturity, evolution, and character growth. Overall, this comic is good!
For Birds of Prey, the good things about this comic are the Birds of Prey teaming up with a person named Cela to find Barbara and defeat Cela’s sister Maia, who is (or will be) responsible for killing Barbara because she killed her mother the Red Tiger. I like that Barda’s mind shows her and the rest of the Birds of Prey be like the 1950s because she imagined living a domesticated life with Scott since they’ve met; it’s interesting. The few things I can criticize are Red Velvet (a Barbara Gordon villain who encountered her since 1982 and again during the Burnside era) having septuplets in the future, even though timeline and age-wise she would be in her 50s (with Barbara being in her early 60s, since she made her debut as the Original Batgirl in 1966 at 27 years old) by now and in her 70s in Maia and Cela’s timeline. Another thing I can criticize is Barda speaking in third person, even though she hasn’t done it before (unless I missed something). The art is good and the writing is interesting. Overall, this comic is good!
For Poison Ivy, I like that Harley tried to save Ivy before she was able to save Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, and Janet from HR and teamed up with Red Hood to save Ivy and defeat the Floronic Man. Also, I find it hilarious and self-aware that Janet thinks that she’s the main character of this story (even thought she’s not because it’s Ivy’s story since it’s her own series) and knows that she’s just a useless background character everyone forgets because nobody wants her and that she’s useless. Overall, this comic is okay.
For ASM, even though Peter was transformed into the Spider-Goblin to continue from the last issue, the good things about this comic are him battling the Sinister Six before Ben Reilly arrives and tries to save him because they’re brothers. I like that the Sinister Six used their abilities to try and defeat the Spider-Goblin after learning that Norman’s Green Goblin side has returned before Kraven tried to remove the sins from Peter, since he thinks that the sins are inside Peter. The one thing I can criticize is Kamala Khan because I think that it is to continue her appearance in this comic since her unnecessary death last year and that Zeb Wells wants to do something with her, even though a lot of fans don’t want her in ASM because he hardly knew Peter. Overall, this comic is starting to get interesting! Also, Living Brain attacking J. Jonah Jameson.
For Blood Hunters, here is what I have to say.
For the Hulk backup, I like that Bruce and Hulk were defeating vampires while recounting their childhood about them being forced to kill their dog because they had no choice. I feel bad that Bruce had to shoot his dog because he has no choice and that it’s the only way for them to survive.
For the Hawkeye backup, I like that Kate, Dante, and Pizza Dog worked together to defeat the vampires while dealing with their version of the Shining Twins.
For the final backup, I like that we get to see a flashback of Elsa trying to stop Morbius from hurting anyone before she was able to team up with Dagger to save Yelena from harm and Dagger becoming a vampire in the final page. It’s interesting.
For What If…? Venom, I like that Mr. Knight (with the Venom Symbiote) was able to free Loki from Venom before Dr. Strange, Jennifer, and Logan took care of the Venom symbiote. It’s a nice conclusion to this miniseries. Overall, this comic is good!

I've read both Scarlet and Space Ghost #2. While I think both are fine, I don't understand how Scarlet has a bad review while Space Ghost has a recommendation, other than the fact that Scarlets bad review was telegraphed on this channel like a month before the book even came out.
The art alone makes Space Ghost far superior.
@@Wes_From_TC I dunno man.. the Space Ghost art was a little sketchy, and the characters weren't always on model.. Look at Jans watermelon head in the final spash page. Story-wise, Space Ghost feels like off-brand Batman in Space. I mean it was fine, but I can't say it was objectively better than Scarlet.
For real, I can't imagine liking Serious Space Ghost over this awesome Scarlett book. Wes for sure was hating on Scarlett before he ever read it.
taking out 40 samurai... one of the major aspects of G.I. Joe is they always seem to be close to defeat as individuals but it is them being a team that always allow them to survive and thrive. None of them are taking out 40 warriors and it is sad that something that seemed to be so flawless this far in fell flat on its face.
Well Larry Hama had Snake Eyes the real one enter a walking death machine trance in 293 escaping Cobra Island I believe mow down at least 100 Cobra troopers on his way out.
@@spiderghost6940Snake Eyes was established as a character and has been portrayed as being a bad a**. Here with Scarlett this is her early years and she can already take on and beat 10 ninja? Hmmm, starting to look like a Mary Sue in the making which is not what fans of GI Joe wanted.
On a huge side note IF you want to make money and you are doing a GI Joe story on solo characters, two at a time, how do you not pick Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and intertwine their books with a silent issue as a nod to GI Joe issue #21, Silent Interlude? From my understanding there will not be anymore solo books after Scarlett and Destro and the story will move on to a regular GI Joe book.
Huge swing and miss leaving out two characters that would sell books IF this is the case and I hope they know what they are doing with this Scarlett story as I am willing to see it out (being only five issues) but truth be told it is because of Storm Shadow. At this point I hope they can reel it back in with Scarlett but I think the genie is out of the bottle and can see this title dropping off real fast IF they keep up the invincible Scarlett as shown in issue #1.
For those who want to reply with remarks such as this is because Scarlett is a woman, I say read the original Marvel GI Joe run (or more so GI Joe Yearbook #3). In yearbook #3 Scarlett saves both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (and this is the second silent story like the one we got in issue #21). As a matter of fact issue #21 Snake Eyes is coming to the aid of Scarlett only by story end we see Scarlett coming to the aid of Snake Eyes. At the end of the day it is all about story writing and Scarlett issue #1 has really put itself behind the eight ball.

The Ultimates (2024) issue 1 is awesome for me.This book is setting up to be an epic one. With heroes trying to bring back what they lost and at the same time fight against the world that the maker created in his image. I am thoroughly enjoy hickman's ultimate universe, I have hope it will continue to be this good for a while.

Sorry to hear you didn't like Scarlett. The art for me was hit or miss throughout the issue, but I really liked the story. We were introduced to more Joe characters, including lesser known ones like Hardmaster. I liked seeing the friendship between her and Jinx in the flashbacks. I liked how she did her own thing because she felt it was the right thing to do. Not a miss for me...outside of the art.

The problem with the Ultimates comic is that you are not getting a good feel for the characters and it relies almost entirely from what you know about them from the mainline universe.
even worse, for some of them, like Hank Pym for example, their entire character relies on the contrast between how he is in the main 616 universe.
the only one that we do get to somehow explore in a unique way is Tony, though even that is mostly done by exposition boxes. (also, who would willingly call himself "Iron-Lad"?! even just to contrast himself from his father)

Just finished Scarlett. I actually really liked it. Fun story and the art wasn’t terrible. So far, for me, Transformers has been the weakest of the Energon Universe but I’m going to give it another shot.

Jynx was born into the clan. She is a cousin to Storm Shadow and a niece? to the Hard and Soft Master. The exact family tree was never made very clear.

Did you miss the hints that Scarlett is a lesbian now? What else am I supposed to think when she sees Jinx standing next to the Hard Master and thinks, “There she is. She looks good. God, don’t lose it now, Shana.”? Feels to me like Jinx is taking Snake’s place in Scarlett’s life, even though she refers to her as a sister earlier. I guess time will tell.
The 2018 feminist bullshit comic book G.I. Joe: Scarlett's Strike Force, written by Aubrey Sitterson from I.D.W. Publishing had already alluded to or heavily implied that Scarlett, Cover Girl, Lady Jaye, Jinx, the Baroness and Zarana were all already bi-sexuals, or, at the very least, bi-curious. Why? Because it's "being progressive". 🙄😒

Yeah so far Scarlett is definitely the weakest of the Engeron Universe comics, it’s okay but it is lacking something on what the other EU comics special, I’m not familiar with Kelly Tompsons work so I don’t know what to expect but this probably going be a series where I wait till all the issue release to see how this series turns out, hopefully it gets better and this doesn’t mean the start of the Energon Universe downfall.

I liked the idea of the energon universe but as a transformers fan only it gets annoying trying to keep up with the gi joe stuff.i am sorry to all the gi joe fans but I don't really care about cobra commander trying to fix megatron you could replace cobra commander with just a generic scientist trying to fix him ,as a side plot in the end of every transformers issue and nothing would really change.

Is Kelly Thompson the most overrated writer working in comics today? (Actually Tom King or Tom Taylor probably take that accolade).
I very much enjoyed Thompson’s Hawkeye book and also her Jessica Jones run, but she’s been a let down since.
I read the first trades of Black Cloak and The Cull, both of which were average, shallow and forgettable; I don’t think I even finished that volume of Black Cloak.
Then I see she’s up for an Eisner and fruit loops everywhere are recommending them. Although when taking a look at who is recommending then it’s mostly comic book tourist types

What would deter me was not the long title but the fact that it’s by Duggan. If anyone knows anime and manga some of the titles run on but are great.

Some of the manga titles are actually full sentences, here’s one I was looking at buying today “BACKSTABBED IN A BACKWATER DUNGEON: MY PARTY TRIED TO KILL ME, BUT THANKS TO AN INFINITE GACHA I GOT LVL 9999 FRIENDS AND AM OUT FOR REVENGE”.
That’s the title, and that’s not even the longest title I’ve seen, others are even longer.

That whole first scene in Scarlett was a confusing mess. The transitions from panel to panel were so jarring it felt like pages were missing and it's so heavily implied that Scarlett and Jinx are lovers that I'll be shocked if they're not. The amount of time spent establishing how close they are and how they developed their "secret language" was absurd and completely unnecessary. It felt like the only editorial outline Thompson got beforehand was 'Scarlett does some stuff for 20 pages. Storm Shadow on last page'.
When I noticed Scarlett's gauged earlobes I immediately took it as a bad omen. Between that and the 'only girls are allowed to write girl characters' trend not getting bucked I worried Scarlett might be the title that marks a quality decline in the EU. Hopefully it's just a one-off and the rest of the EU books continue to be amazing but I'm starting to get worried.
Lucky you have something to read this week guys, a few comics is better than nothing, but sad they have these people on that GI-Joe comic.

The best comic for me this week was Ultimates #1. I really enjoyed it. That said, I agree with Wes that the bit about heroes killing themselves was confusing. I also agree that Mark Millars Ultimates is still better and creates a high benchmark that most likely wont be matched.
F'n Hell! Seriously! Overseas stores CANNOT afford to buy shit stock, it costs them too much... They hesitate and won't bet at all, so everything beyond The Two is in micro-doses (at best). None of these GI JOE or TF books are hitting shelves, they are all 'ask for' with proven loyal customers. I have a heap of comics to read, when I commit to asking for this, in means the whole mini-series and it costs me. Is the Energon Universe just going to flop into nothingness (like everything else that is modern) by hiring PROVEN DUDS?
Why say this or that didn't happen in the comics for this series when you accepted things in Duke and Cobra Commander having nothing to do with the comics.

Louise Simonson wrote some of the best New Mutants stuff and Superman stuff. Ann Nocenti has a Daredevil run people clamored for. Jo Duffy still gets praise for her work on Star Wars and Conan the Barbarian. Women can write comics because comics are meant for everyone.

A good book or two doesn't justify support the big two. That is a miserable, pathetic and unexcusable average. The GET FURY is well-written but is hurt by the cartoonist art. NOT the right artist for this title.

I quit collecting a few months ago (again). I binge read my pull list of 35 books and only liked 2 books, Sandman and Jsa. Former not Wirth a pull list and latter too irregularly published
I buy NO marvel comics and haven't for about 10 years. From DC, l do buy the new Hellblazer, the Black Label First Knight series, and World's Finest. My brother is also picking up The Gargoyles of Gotham, which is also excellent, but is ignored. It seems that they generally trash on TC the DC titles and talents l enjoy. Oddly enough, with DC, their monthly titles are in a real mess, but their specials and limited series seem to be real winners. At Marvel the only decent ongoing series is Dr. Strange. The only other titles l look forward to is Conan and Usagi Yojimbo.

Living in Japan its nice to hear Another ex pat Talking about Western Comics ! Goopd segment, Coulda drilled down a little more, but in most things I kinda had to side with Wes. Except. I Hated the Damian Wayne book. It kinda made me Vomit. Scarlet, Spot on… a wasted oppertinity fairly decent art, Although, THAT CHIN!
