What I didn’t know, and she did, was that “my people are in it”😍😍😍 I wish I could had seen the reaction on my face when Rey flew out on the Millennium Falcon, and then when Han Solo and Chewy came on, I didn’t realize I let out a shout, “OMG!!” Right there in the theatre!! I had Mark Hamill and all the movie posters all over my dorm room when I was in college! I got to watch this movie with several of my young nephews and my sons, last Friday night. Let me just say, I absolutely LOVED IT!!! I was a 9 years old kid when I first sat in a theatre and witnessed the evolution of Luke Skywalker from young farm boy to Jedi Knight Warrior, and this movie showed the fully grown Skywalker as an all powerful Jedi Master- WHAT A THRILL!!!! FINALLY, we get to see Luke in complete control of all his powers, at one with the force. It was truly amazing to me, and I feel so grateful to Mark Hamill for his brilliant performance, and to the late Carrie Fisher, who's acting ability was truly showcased it this epic Star Wars movie. I have read, and heard, many negative comments by some other fans, and it is their right to be critical, if they choose. As for myself, I thought it was a masterpiece, worthy of every Academy Award that can be given to it. Luke passed the baton, so it is on the young Ray's shoulders to bear the weight of the resistance. I believe she is more than capable.
I say this every time I hear this man speak, what an absolute legend mark is, he's literally the perfect celebrity, he humble and funny and passionate about giving fans what they want, he's nothing like the vapid, arrogant celebrities today. Mark deserves the highest accolades entertainment has to offer.

I grew up on Star Wars and really love the movies and the cast. The 3 movies they put out a few years back were done in a childish way that really hurt the franchise especially the fact that all the bad guys were robots so they could have violence and not kill people. Star Wars was always family friendly but there was a very dark side to it. The latest installment and the one coming are perfect and truly revived the spirit of the original movies. Having Luke back is going to be great in the Last Jedi and I really hope his role is more than the old guy teaching the young. The story is Luke became a super powerful Jedi so I'm hoping we see a super powerful Luke and I hope he makes it through the serious and triumphs at the end instead of dying like everyone else.

When, as a boy, I watched the first Star Wars ever released, The Jedi Knights caused me to explore mysticism. This franchise has changed my life. How awesome it must be to have been involved in something so positive and far reaching!
Forgive me, but I think a "Young Luke Skywalker" or "Young Han Solo" film should happen. Harrison Ford was Han Solo, can't be reflected in a young actor. Mark Hamill was Luke Skywalker, can't be done. Facts are also that Luke was around twenty years old and Han not that much different, so it is simply foolish to find a reason to do films based on them prior to A New Hope and such. I will say, Mark should be respected more by Disney. He, like Ford and Fisher, created those characters. "They" should not say we don't care what you think Mark. Just isn't logical or right.

I think Sebastian could be a great in-between actor for everything ROTJ to FA. Luke at Jakku, Sebastian Stan. Luke starting the Jedi academy, Sebastian Stan. Just because recasts haven't happened yet. (solos not out yet) doesn't mean they shouldn't happen. Doctor Who, Star Trek, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, all have had major recasts. Some for better some for worse. Just remember without recasts we would never have The Dark Knight, we would never have Spiderman in the MCU, we would never have Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill as the Joker. It's not about visual similarities, that's why it's called acting. Makeup and CGI doesn't portray a character acting and writing does.

I never knew that he voiced the Joker in the Batman Animated Series. He was so good doing that. The laugh was incredible everything about what he brought to that persona was spot on and I used to be a huge Batman Comic reader/collector before that series. Mark made the joker into everything I thought he should be. 10/10. I even like his version better than any of the versions made for the movies. There was something so insane about Mark's version where when he's being willy nilly insane and you peel that layer off then the joker gets broody insane and you just see a deeper red eyed version under the incredible playful lunatic version and then turn it off and on again like a light switch.
Listen to what Mark’s saying carefully, “We want escapism, we don’t want real life” and “these movies were made by children”. “It’s not gonna go the way you think” I love how he subliminally is warning the audience about TLJ. Agree with you Tony, I just didn’t ‘buy’ Luke’s character at end of Return of Jedi as resulting in the Luke of Last Jedi, his demise seemed commercially-calculated rather than necessary. It felt a poor send off.

I got to watch this movie with several of my young nephews and my sons, last Friday night. Let me just say, I absolutely LOVED IT!!! I was a 9 years old kid when I first sat in a theatre and witnessed the evolution of Luke Skywalker from young farm boy to Jedi Knight Warrior, and this movie showed the fully grown Skywalker as an all powerful Jedi Master- WHAT A THRILL!!!! FINALLY, we get to see Luke in complete control of all his powers, at one with the force. It was truly amazing to me, and I feel so grateful to Mark Hamill for his brilliant performance, and to the late Carrie Fisher, who's acting ability was truly showcased it this epic Star Wars movie. I have read, and heard, many negative comments by some other fans, and it is their right to be critical, if they choose. As for myself, I thought it was a masterpiece, worthy of every Academy Award that can be given to it. Luke passed the baton, so it is on the young Ray's shoulders to bear the weight of the resistance. I believe she is more than capable.
I wonder if he meant "stunned" in a bad way, since I've seen some negative comments from him on these new movies.

I say this every time I hear this man speak, what an absolute legend mark is, he's literally the perfect celebrity, he humble and funny and passionate about giving fans what they want, he's nothing like the vapid, arrogant celebrities today. Mark deserves the highest accolades entertainment has to offer.

TLJ's treatment of Luke makes literally zero sense. He went into the belly of the beast in RotJ based on seeing a tiny glimmer of conflict and good in Darth Vader. Then we hear in TLJ that he tried to KILL his nephew/one of his students just because he sensed darkness?? Instead of trying to teach him further? I feel so bad for Mark.

What a disappointment
I love how he embraces the character which ironically kind of ruined his career. He's great with the fans and is just a real class act. Today's celebrities could really learn from this guy.
I grew up on Star Wars and really love the movies and the cast. The 3 movies they put out a few years back were done in a childish way that really hurt the franchise especially the fact that all the bad guys were robots so they could have violence and not kill people. Star Wars was always family friendly but there was a very dark side to it. The latest installment and the one coming are perfect and truly revived the spirit of the original movies. Having Luke back is going to be great in the Last Jedi and I really hope his role is more than the old guy teaching the young. The story is Luke became a super powerful Jedi so I'm hoping we see a super powerful Luke and I hope he makes it through the serious and triumphs at the end instead of dying like everyone else.
I'm so excited to see Mark come back as Luke. I've been waiting for this moment for all my life.

Forgive me, but I think a "Young Luke Skywalker" or "Young Han Solo" film should happen. Harrison Ford was Han Solo, can't be reflected in a young actor. Mark Hamill was Luke Skywalker, can't be done. Facts are also that Luke was around twenty years old and Han not that much different, so it is simply foolish to find a reason to do films based on them prior to A New Hope and such.
I will say, Mark should be respected more by Disney. He, like Ford and Fisher, created those characters. "They" should not say we don't care what you think Mark. Just isn't logical or right.

I think Sebastian could be a great in-between actor for everything ROTJ to FA. Luke at Jakku, Sebastian Stan. Luke starting the Jedi academy, Sebastian Stan. Just because recasts haven't happened yet. (solos not out yet) doesn't mean they shouldn't happen. Doctor Who, Star Trek, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, all have had major recasts. Some for better some for worse. Just remember without recasts we would never have The Dark Knight, we would never have Spiderman in the MCU, we would never have Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill as the Joker. It's not about visual similarities, that's why it's called acting. Makeup and CGI doesn't portray a character acting and writing does.
There's has already been a young Luke Skywalker film. It was called "Star Wars: Episode 1: A New Hope".

I never knew that he voiced the Joker in the Batman Animated Series. He was so good doing that. The laugh was incredible everything about what he brought to that persona was spot on and I used to be a huge Batman Comic reader/collector before that series. Mark made the joker into everything I thought he should be. 10/10. I even like his version better than any of the versions made for the movies. There was something so insane about Mark's version where when he's being willy nilly insane and you peel that layer off then the joker gets broody insane and you just see a deeper red eyed version under the incredible playful lunatic version and then turn it off and on again like a light switch.
