Liam Neesons voice is majestic.
He would be a great narrator
Well he is Aslan/zeus/qui gonjinn after all.

Sounds like Conan is having a discussion with a distant thunder storm
😂
That's apt considering that Liam Neeson once played Zeus.
Haha
Its not a thunder storm just Liam Neeson walking towards you from a distance
best voice for Stormfather if they make an adaptation for Stormlight Archives
Today I learned Conan cannot do lightsaber sounds. Which obviously means he’s powerless and unworthy of our fear.
His sounds make me Sith. Just Sith to my stomach.
He’s a sith, @jauricchio. If you understood his true intentions you’d be frightened. I sure as hell am.
Careful now - Conan might have incredible force push / pull proficiency (forming an open stretched hand / forming a claw in empty air), which makes the use of the mouth-lightsaber obsolete...
"kush kush"
He wasn’t trying to do the actual sounds, he was purposely making them sound cringe, learn comedy before you comment
That is actually a spot-on Watto-impression. 😂
Lmao yes
I was thinking the same thing. 😂
NERD.
He’s starting to sound like Watto with his normal voice
Right? I was surprised he couldn't remember the name but still did an awesome impression.
"My lightsaber was green... cuz you know im Irish" hahaha wow i never thought of it that way 🤣🔥
Samuel L. Jackson said he and Hayden Christensen did the same thing. Hayden said that when you do Star Wars, it's just natural for any actor to do the sounds.
Natalie portman did it with her gun..."piu piu piu....piu"
We need ewan mcgregor next
I want them both together, same interview about star wars filming
I would love to see ewan and hayden come on
Why is Liam not doing more voice acting work!?! His voice is spectacular!
He was great in the Lego Movie. Underrated performance.
And a Monster Calls
He voiced the villain in Ponyo, too (the ninth film directed by Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki), and was great in that as well!
He absolutely captured the majestic voice of Aslan in the Narnia movies.
Was also the dad in fallout 3
When conan does his true laugh it's just so beautiful.
Very few people bring it out, I was listen to him with Burr, and you could just tell the laugh was real.
I frequently watch him and Norm for this exact reason
Eh
You really think that's true laughter? He's laughing way too hard at mildly amusing stories.
It would make a great Joker laugh now that Hamill is out. Am I the only one who thinks so?
Liam Neeson's voice is so satisfying to the ear. He should start a podcast just reading random things in that fantastic voice.
I just want him to read these if he does and still send chills down your spine:
Rubber baby bumpy bumpers
Butterscotch
He and Morgan Freeman are THE voices for me. Can you think of others on their level?
The Freeman/Neeson Podcast - Today: NYC Telephone Book of 1984 Letter 'A'
I'd listen in!
@@Gringa_L John hurt, Alan Rickman, Christopher judge (kratos), Ian McKellen, Ian mcdiarmid who plays the emperor.
@@Jordanbackland those are ALL great ones, but OMG, Alan Rickman, I want to cry! By all accounts, he was a sweet, sweet man. And played so many villains so well with that VOICE!
It's crazy how Liam was Qui-Gon for one movie and from that he became such an Iconic characeter. He voiced Qui-Gon in Clone Wars too, but still.
That's what happens when you get an amazing actor for an amazing character, it's probably as rare as a total planet alignment. I think it helps too that they didn't keep bringing him back for dozens of cameos, so that his absence really felt stronger.
“Funny Conan” is my favorite Conan, however, the 2nd half of this video interview is so genuine, honest and joke-free and it’s absolutely wonderful.
I love that Liam Neeson's awesome movie voice is actually his real voice. Funny to think the role that put him on the map they didn't use that wonderful voice at all.
His voice was probably a little different in 93 aswell but your right. Oskar Schindler didn’t sound like Liam Neeson haha
@@joshhunt4146 That was a great role, but, I was actually referring to Suspect, where he played a mute. That was the first big buzz I remember about him.
@@Gringa_L ahh I beg your pardon… I have to plead ignorance on that one… I will be sure to check it out :)
I thought we were talking Darkman!
@@jaerivus Looks like Suspect preceded Darkman by a few years, I haven't seen it, not info horror. is he mute in that movie was well?
Such a great interview. Liam sounds like such a guy in the pub telling you a story.
Funny, I was thinking he sounded like a guy in a pub telling you a story after a funeral.
@@PneumanonHaha totally yeah
Bless this man for saying the spin-offs dilute the core of "Star Wars" instead of some diplomatic Disney sentence on how it's all great.
Everyone who worked with George on the movies probably thinks the same thing. George was really big on just making movies that were vital episodes to the saga and hardly doing anything else, other than the Clone Wars show.
Everyone who worked with George on the movies probably thinks the same thing. George was really big on just making movies that were vital episodes to the saga and hardly doing anything else, other than the Clone Wars show.
Definitely. A few, well chosen ones would have been good, might've evend added to the plot. Now, they are completely overdoing it, thus watering down the entire franchise till nothing's left of it in substance. Therefore: Booo, Disney, booooooo...👎
I think George always said that star wars worked better in episode (series) form. So I believe he would have made more series about star wars but not sure this many.
Star Wars is 9 episodes. Rest got nothing to do with it. To each his own
I think Liam Neeson's accent is getting stronger as he ages. He doesn't cut out the colloquialisms at all.
Liam Neeson could grind coffee beans with just his voice
Green lightsaber for the Irish Jedi haha
😂
That's awesome. Reminds me of Billy Crystal making the 80's cop movie "Running Scared" and they had to cut because he kept making bang noises when shooting his gun.
Just over 30 seconds in and Liam Neeson is the first major celebrity I have ever heard say “They’re diluting the whole thing”.
He’s absolutely right. I’ve been saying that for years. This is major. He’s so utterly genuine.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a gaggle of nerds who want to silence him because he just said something absolutely true and from a place of care for something.
Wouldn’t be the first time, would it?
So I wanna preface this by saying I agree with Liam, I just wanted to add my own two cents.
I think you CAN add more to a franchise without it diluting it, it’s just you need to approach it with proper love and respect for the story. What we’ve seen with Disney is they’ve constantly been just dumping stuff to simply add more content. That’s what dilutes the franchise more than anything.
Yea I agree there are so many characters they have added that mean nothing to me. Personally I feel like Clone Wars, Mandolorian, Rebels, and Bad batch are the saving graces for what disney did with the sequels. Hoping Ahsoka ends good so I can add that to the list.@@nfrance999
@@nfrance999 So, in the context of the conversation, this is right.
@@nfrance999 Which is basically what Liam was saying, just in brief.
The voice of kanan from rebels Freddie Prince jr has also said the same thing when asked if he ever would do a live action version
Liam Neeson's voice falls into that category of "soothing-raspyness" that Kieth David possesses, it's like listening to you're grandfather lull you to sleep with a bed time story.
Even Liam thinks Disney is diluting Star Wars with these subpar spinoffs.
He also said Ewan’s lightsaber was red so…
@@jaradsage8546 nah, he said the aluminum tube Ewan used was red
Liam. One of the greats. What an electrifying screen presence.
I remember reading that Ewan McGregor was kinda notorious for always doing the saber effects even thru Ep III. Just couldn't get the kid out him
Wow, this is one of the best interviews I've seen from Conan. Not from comedic perspective, but from the honest, talking-about-life-experience perspective. Beautiful stuff.
I agree to great irish men all thees missing is a pint 😅😅😊😊
One of the greatest actors of all time. Qui-Gon is my favourite character in all of Star Wars!
He did a great job with the role, despite anyone's other criticisms of Episode I.
You have good taste!
Eu chorei quando ele morreu.
This talk is defintely a source of wisdom, it feels genuine, authenthic and real, it's human.
Everyone does the sound effects 😂
Now it does them for you.
what a fresh, calm and thoughtful piece of chat, more of this CONAN !
This was such a good episode. You can tell they legitimately like each other.
Liam's voice is so deep and raspy that it made my headphones vibrate, which in turn shook my head.
They were not the only ones. Laura Dern couldn't stop herself from making blaster noises when filming TLJ. IIRC, some of her "pews" remained in the final movie.
I'm glad someone pointed this out, it's one of my favorite bits of TLJ trivia
Somebody’s gotta mod Liam’s lightsaber sound into a real lightsaber
One of my favorite memories of going to SDCC was seeing a man in his 50's cosplaying as Mace Windu walking a short distance away just strolling with a bag of souvenirs and this must've been just after Attack of the Clones just came out. Spot on look too, he probably could've even nailed the voice, knowing his luck. I hope he's still kicking around.
Star Wars has the craziest fans of all, their passion is incredible
That's such a Padawan comment. 😁
Said the person who never met a Deadhead.
They ruined several lives and careers, so yeah, they are crazy

That was the first time I was introduced to Liam Neeson before he became notable in his future roles and I can say the same thing with other actors I've seen for the first time and then some became A-Listers
The funny stuff is perfect and then this interview is perfect. You can't stop Conan.
Can we talk about Conan's lightsaber noises for a second? I'm not sure this man has ever seen Star Wars.
I finally understand when books say someone has a rumbling, growling voice
As an actor myself (30+ years 🎭), it's *REALLY* great for me to learn that Liam Neeson experienced "blanking" on stage. And why? Simple. That happened to me (once) during a performance of "The Hobbit". I was Bilbo. However, I was pretty lucky, improvised right through, and recovered maybe 6-12 seconds later. FEELS LIKE SIXTY SECONDS, though... yes. 😕
Liam neesons voice makes me feel safe
It's somehow simultaneously soothing and intimidating.
Which is strange, seems he attracts chaos.
Because he has a certain set of skills.
Conan has a particular set of skills
But these are no match to the ones Jordan Schlansky mastered to be able to performing his Various Tasks 🥱
Mr. Neeson's voice sounds like a quiet earthquake.
Two great Irishmen having a chat! 😍 One of the best CONAF episodes so far!
I see one actual Irishman and one American of Irish decent having a conversation.
I had no idea making lightsaber sounds was among his very particular set of skills.
The most fascinating podcast episode to listen in a long while from Conan. My work day hour flew listening this conversation
My God! The voice!!!
I'm melting!!
😍😍
liam's getting old :( his voice has changed too, grows deeper, and a bit gassy, idk how to describe. its just different than when he was younger. sounds like an old man.... im sad... i love the younger liam :( ..... but yeah we grow old and die..
You heard it here folks, Liam Neeson says they are diluting the Star Wars franchise with all these extra films and spinoffs!
I agree they’re diluting the bloody thing now - but that’s what Disney does
Did he call George Lucas a Twat at 1:44? 🤣🤣🤣
I really miss Conan on late night... he is the best!
This is so asmr.
I'd imagine Liam's voice to have the face of Simba or Aslan, and I picture Conan's to be Pink Panther's
Watto is the Character he is referring to. His Scenes on Tattooine.
💕 If I could just bottle that voice of his 🗣🧴
Amazing Watto impression
Reminds me of how, in The Last Jedi, apparently when Laura Dern had a blaster she just instinctively started saying “Pew! Pew!” when she fired it.
The perfect Schindler. His voice just evokes humanity.
I think it's safe to say, that it is universal understanding, that if you pull a lightsaber - it has to sound like a lightsaber. I would have loved to see that first time lightsaber unsheathing, LOL😂😂😂
Liam’s being far too modest. His inprov comedy in life’s too short was hilarious and in incredibly good taste.
5:11 Wow from that angle you can really see how he’d get mistaken for Ralph Fiennes.
Good on Liam Neeson for essentially saying "no more Star Wars. You're ruining its legacy. It's getting to be not special anymore". The Sequels should never have been made. The Mandalorian is overrated. Book of Boba Fett sucked. Solo was awful. The only two decent spin offs were Rogue One and Andor.
It took Liam Neeson to make Conan sound serious..
I haven't even watched the clip yet and already love it.
Liam speaks so low, Conan goes way, way down to match the best he can, its unconscious I think.
I watched Citizen Kane the other day again. Some of the old classic black and white movies are amazing
Conan sounds like the joker when he laughs haha
There's a place in the Hamill joker family for a joker conan.
Liam’s voice is so iconic.
Im surprised how good liam is at impressions... idk why lol
Liam Neeson's voice is insane, i was listening to it and not looking at the screen, as soon as he started talking i was kinda stunned, lol
This is such a relaxed conversation, it's great
90% of star wars actors dont care about star wars.Unless money talks..
Lol did he voice watto because that was perfect.
My god it's like the brighest, bluest synthethic and most unforgiving office light in there! I can count conans nose hair
Neeson definitely isn't wrong about Star Wars being simultaneously diluted and intensified into a cult lol
"Monkey smoking a pipe" in that accent is golden 😂
Yes Liam, just like the Battle of the Somme.
"I've been led to understand that Trix are exclusively for children. Is that correct? Is that enforced by law? So if I purchase these Trix, there won't be any trouble?" Ever since Ted 2 I can't see Liam Neeson in any role without thinking of that scene, I was even rewatching Schindler's List and during the scene where he has his break down that stupid Ted 2 scene popped into my head, like his break down triggered a trauma response of trying to search for a happy or fond memory of Liam Neeson because of how sad and uncomfortable that scene is and it pulled out the Trix scene from Ted 2. I had to turn the movie off because I couldn't stop laughing, I felt so bad. Lol
Hey folks watch Charlie Hopkins. His Qui gon, Obi Wan and Anakin hanging out together watching SW material comedy is simply brilliant and hilarious!
That voice is pure smoke. I want to add it to my steak
No one's going to talk about Conan's face turning red immediately when he does the lightsaber sounds
9:30 I'm watching this video right now because I have fear. I'm a homeless man stuck in my car trying to find the courage to step out so that I can buy some water and use the restroom at a store just a few steps away.
Thank you Conan and Liam for this conversation. I'm crying as i type because I need to find the courage to live and to do the most mundane act of life.
I'm constantly scared and I use your old shows and pod cast to put my fears away just for a while.
Because Liam put it into perspective, no one is shooting at me, I will try to find the courage to step out of my car.
Truly, I just wish I could run to the exit door of life and be gone from this stage forever.
So tired of living in fear.
Thank you both for this lovely conversation.
Have a wonderful day,

He's so right about it being diluted now.
