Good vid Saki. The Note 8 have ssssoooooo many features. I learn about a new one every single day. I just learned that the Note 8 have screen saver. You'll have to go to settings, click on display, scroll to the bottom and there is an option to turn on and turn off the screen saver. You can even change it to wherever you want your screen saver to be. The phone is a beast.

You might have added that the screen screensaver is only available while the phone is charging. It's an important detail.

I have the Samsung case like the one shown but it will not charge wireless. My charger is the Samsung Wireless Charging Stand. When I place the phone on it either horizontally or vertically it will start to charge but then shortly loose the connection. Do different chargers have stronger charging abilities? As a side question if a charger is working okay does it harm the battery if it is allowed to charge overnight?

It's also likely that some Note 8 variants don't have that particular options. Some carriers are naughty and like to remove these cool options. I am using an unlocked version of the Note 8.

nelle2001 i would recommend whitestone dome glass...i had it almost 1 month without any problem...

nelle2001 eventhough the screen protector quite pricey (in Malaysia RM199) , but it still the best sp out there. But not all casing is suitable with whitestone dome glass. U can check out the video about the installation and casing that compatible with whitestone dome glass. Currently im using whitestone dome glass with Spigen Liquid Air. U need to have a perfect installation to suit the Spigen case.
Hey sakytech, need your help here, the Note 5 was a camera mode "direct UA-cam stream" where is that fixture in the Note 8?
Martins André I think it’s gone. I believe Samsung previously had an agreement with UA-cam, but not anymore. You can check into it further. If you find out something different please let me know. I’m sure your aware that you can share it, but not live. Then another choice is to go to Samsung Galaxy Apps and use an app called Game Live. Lastly, my understanding on why the deal was stopped is you can stream live right in the UA-cam app now, also I believe Facebook as well. Like I said, if you find out something else, please let me know. I hope that helps. At least it’s a place to start.
Scott Levine at the moment what I have find out is that my note 5 have more camera modes than my note 8
Martins André The Note 5 and the original are the only 2 phones in the Note series that I didn’t own. However, my mother did so I am familiar with the phone still. Yes, I would agree with your statement, but you can get there or pretty close. There are several modes that you can just download and a lot that can be side loaded and work flawlessly. Most of the modes on my previous note I didn’t use. But, I used the dual camera mode several times and that one I was lucky enough to get it on my phone. So I would look around if there is a mode that you are looking for. Also, there are some camera features on this phone that weren’t available on previous Notes. Right now, I really haven’t used any, but very few even though I did add several more modes just I have that I though I might use.
Disappointed with this video. Normally, I find your videos very informative and I really do appreciate what you do. I hope you don’t mind constructive criticism. I like it because it’s the only way we can get better. First off, the title of your video made it sound like I was going to learn some cool new tricks. Instead it was just a basic video that unless you just bought the phone recently you should already know how to do all those items or at least virtually all those items. As a matter of fact, I believe you have already released videos in the past that discussed all of these features. If it wasn’t you, it must have been someone else. However, I would be quite surprised because you are in my top 5 reviewers for phones on UA-cam. The other thing I would’ve preferred you do again regards the title of you could’ve mentioned it right in the beginning of the video. You actually could’ve done that with my first suggestion as well. I’ve seen another reviewer put a disclaimer in the beginning so we don’t waste our time with stuff that doesn’t apply to us. I think you should’ve have mentioned that if you have a different Launcher (ie, I use Nova Prime), you may noticed that some of these features either, don’t work, you need to turn them on a different way, you may just have different options, etc. I know there are some things that you mentioned that with Nova are not available, work differently, need to enable it differently, or have a better feature. I hope this post finds you well. Like, I said I really do appreciate what you do and I consider you one of the best reviewers on UA-cam. I’m just trying to give you suggestions that may help you improve your channel, especially with all the new phones, launchers, OS, features, apps, etc. As you know, there are so many different ways One has their phone set up. How do you pick a specific picture for each contact in the messaging app?
I love note 8, my only problem is the multi window function. It lags whenever I unlock the phone using finger print sensor. It takes about 10 to 30 secs (lucky enough) if it unlocks but if it doesn't unlock i need to wait for several minutes to unlock the phone. This issue happens when you use multi window while making the keypad active on any document app or any app that uses keypad. Try this, disable the AOD feature then use the multi window, on the top of the window open any applications and on the bottom open word or sms or samsung note or any doc type applications. Let the keypad stay active on the doc and then lock it. Did you too experience the same problem? Let me know please. TIA
Remar Amparo Barquilla I don’t believe so. I’m not exactly certain what you’re asking because it sounds like you are mentioning an issue and then a solution. So I’m confused, please clarify if you still need help and what exactly is the problem itself and I will try my best to help. The only issue that’s happened to me recently is Smart Lock, specifically Trusted Places. It was working from release date until about 2 weeks ago flawlessly and then it stopped working. It seems like I will find a solution that will last for a day and then it will stop working again, only Trusted Places. Do you use this feature? If so, has anything changed recently with it. I’ve tried a lot of ideas, but nothing’s lasted. Thank you in advance for your help or anyone that is willing to help.

theMVP 845 No problem and I’m sure you know almost everything, just like I thought, but of course there were still some items that I wanted that I couldn’t figure out how to do. I know there were a few, but for some reason the only one that comes to mind (which is a big one) is how to get either part of the original S Note app with Action Memo and some other features or the full version including Photo Note, Easy Chart, Idea Sketch, Sketchbook, etc. If I think of the others, or you think of something/you want to this app, let me know and I will be more than happy to help. How do you enjoy your phone for 1 day? I’m sure you’re having fun!

How to lock app by using fingerprint on s8+???????
For app shortcuts, it seems the camera app is the only app that would work if your lockscreen is password protected. I changed the left corner from phone app to calculator app, and when I swiped up on the app, it didn't launch. Instead the phone asked me to enter my password first to unlock it. Whereas the camera app on the right corner worked fine and launched when swiped up. No need to enter a password. Am I the only one experiencing this? Is my N8 faulty?

I have a Galaxy S8+ and my problem is when I answer a call and during calls I get the notice (Double Tap to Unlock). It is annoying and I can't figure out how to disable it. I have went online to search how to correct this and I have had Tech assistance. All to no avail. Does anybody know how to disable this feature?
Gary Phelps I’m assuming the phone is locked, right? Have you tried putting the phone app in apps shortcut? Have you tried using Smart Lock (this worked great for me for awhile, but unfortunately Trusted Places recently has been giving me issues)? I have the Note 8, but I’m trying to help as best as I can. Those are a few ideas which I’m assuming you’ve used, but maybe not. If you could give me any other information about what is going on I will try and help.
