- Welcome everyone to my first ever Porsche review!!
I can't believe I'm writing out this description but I have reviewed the Cayman T!!
This entry level model (alongside the 718 Boxster) is the entry level model to start you off with your journey with Porsche!
When it started the Cayman was essentially a Boxster with a hard roof and that is no bad thing. However throughout the years it has grown into a serious contender in the 2 door, 2 seater coupe class. Often competing with the likes of the Audi TTS.
However the Cayman now has to deal with rivals from Alpine with the A110 and the new Toyota Supra!!
Watch to see if I like the Cayman T!

The Cayman t is my dream car 😍
The vanity lights are an optional extra you need to spec it,my cayman T is due next month (1 of the last to be built as it’s discontinued) and they had to tell me about the light under the sun visor)

Nice review. My wife and I toured Europe for four weeks in a 718 CGTS. Plenty of trunk space. Two carry-on bags in the frunk and a duffle with two back packs in the rear hatch. We travel somewhat light but works well, IMO.
I like your review very much. Nice delivery with detail and a natural and understandable style. I personally think the 718 T is a very smart buy for most of us unless we want to be really competitive at the track and then it's a GT2RS and nothing in-between.
The T gives you both a sensible daily and some fun at the track to improve skill level while not breaking the bank.

@@AutoBears just be yourself. That's better than 90% of car presenters at UA-cam. Also you made me seriously thinking of getting a Cayman T.
Before I was looking for Lotus Elise, cut the Cayman is much more elegant and... Yeah, it's a Porsche 😅

Thank you very much for your comment. I think a lot of people would put the manual first for that pure racing feel but I cannot deny how much I was impressed with the PDK. Super smooth and quick, not to mention the feel of the paddles which provides a positive yet premium feel. I’m glad my video helped.

Any reason why Porsche decided to block off engine access (or even visuals) from the top on all the Caymans/Boxsters and (as well as the 991/992)?

Great review, excellent level of detail on the Cayman not seen in most UA-cam reviews! Just two points, I’m pretty sure that android auto is not available, and there is also no wireless charging option.
Thank you for your comment and pointing that out. Yes I found out afterwards that the symbol on the pad is for signal boost and android auto is not available. I made the mistake of making an assumption. 🤦🏻♂️
It's a fantastically practical little sports car, I used a 981 with PDK for 5 years as a daily for work and leisure! While it is indeed "relaxing" to have the PDK, that's not what I am looking for anymore hence I have gone for the very manual 718 Spyder. The clutch is much easier than in the 981 GT4 I tried a few years ago, so why not?
I hope you get to drive all the Porsches you like... Would love to see you get out of one which has the 918 buckets though! ;-)

That’s great to hear that your needs changed and that Porsche had the right car for you. Indeed the PDK does give that element of relaxation to a daily commute. But of course if you want more involvement the manual will give that to you.
Well I’ll happily give them a try and if I can fit in a Caterham so anything’s possible!!!
I’ll ask Porsche to see about a Panamera or Cayenne for the next car to review.

Thank s for the comment. They are leather with a textile mix. However being a Porsche, there are a number of options available and I know you can always upgrade the seats.
7.20 there is an option for about £330 of buttons on the steering wheel.

Porsche only supports Apple Carplay, not Android Auto.
