You did a great job with the Cayman T. The Spyder will be awesome. If this pandemic doesnt cripple my ability to get my GT4, Im hoping I have it by June. Cant wait!
Let's cross our fingers that you will have your pleasure by June. Take care and thanks for the energy.
Love your videos!! Amazzing passion.
Thanks, Allan, thankful for the time you spend on my channel.
Great videos Janko!!!
Thanks JJ, and this time you were first to comment :-)
Fantastic channel and great car! Been following you for a while and love your Porsche enthusiast perspective on the 4 cylinder engine. Wish the car advert was also in English - would be tempted to purchase.
Car Advert? Not sure what you referring to but thank you for all your support and the time you spend on my channel. Thanks.
Janko Lind sorry I meant the link on which your car is for sale
Ahh sorry, I did not understand, Well the price is in SEK and the equipment list you could find in the description of this video. I'm pretty sure they speak English if you call them.
Janko Lind great, thank you. Looking forward to your upcoming content!
Most of us that own Porsche’s have had to make the same decision as you. I sold a 987 Boxster S after 3 months of ownership to buy a 981 Cayman GTS. The 981 was sold for a 991.2T (Clubsport!) and I couldn’t be happier. Nice video because it gets us thinking of the cars we used to own too.
Thanks, dsiggia, and I believe you understood me. Thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel.
Sad to see her go, but I am looking forward to your spyder!
Hard to live hire, I'm looking forward to the Spyder to.
Glad you are converting to cabriolet after you converted me in your 992 Cabriolet video ;) :)
Or you could say I concerted my self in the 992 Convertable. Thanks for watching my videos and for your subscription. Hedding for that 10 000 sub.
If anyone deserves a friend with a car lift, it is you!
Although it is sad to see the car for sale without your wonderful wrap, at least the next owner will enjoy "The Art of Driving" door sill inlays!
Thanks Simon, but FYI, it’s my garage and lift ✋🏽
Farewell to the lovely Cayman T. I am sure you made so much memories with her even though you had for a very short time, but hey! I am very happy for you that you will experience the first GT Porsche with the roof blow off :p I wish you all the best for the sale of your Cayman T.
Thanks for your comment, just for clarification, I sold the car to the car dealer, I don't own it any more. But it is for sale according to my link.
It is a bit sad to see the Cayman T go, but I will be looking forward to seeing your videos on the Spyder...
If you get tired of the manual roof on the Spyder you could always go for a 718 Boxster T with Ohlins and Track Connect, that would be a killer combo and very likely less expensive than a Spyder 😁
Like your thought, thanks for watching and subscribing
Sorry to see the Cayman T leave the channel but can't wait to see the Spyder👍
I wish I could have kept hir but I can't. I'm also looking forward to drive the Spyder.
Hey Janko. Can’t wait to see the videos with the Spyder! See you soon. 😎
I'm waiting to ;-) Thanks for spending time on my channel... subbed?
Janko Lind yes been one of your earlier subscribers
Thanks Mohamed,
You will love the Spyder I have a convertible 997.2 GTS manual nothing like having the top down and shifting through the gears.
Congratulations to your GTS Bob. Sure you have a blast drivning her. Take care and thanks for watching.
Wow! Totally understood. Financial realities, and space, impact most of us. Will just make you savor that Spyder all the more I bet... SS
Yes, S S, I hope the joy of driving the Spyder will increase, otherwise...
I think you should donate your bucket seats to my 981 :). I always enjoy your videos, can’t wait to see your new Spyder. I hope you get an aftermarket exhaust for it.
Exhaust would not be my first mode...
Seemed so quick and it was. Hope the Spyder is a perfect fit for long term ownership …….
well it depends on when the GT3 is launched and if I get an allocation AND if I like it.
@@JankoLind True. its anyones guess at this point when production will begin again and Porsche catching up with the backlog. Be safe Janko !
The 718 is still up for sale, only the cage and headliner left inside.
Yes and I Believe they fitted back the pcm. I have the Öhlins Racing chassi in my garage if you are interested.
underrated channel
When are you going to give the 718 Spyder a run Janko? Look forward to seeing some footage on here. Tom
Still salty roads in Sweden guess within 5-6 weeks
Sad to see your nice Cayman T go but the Spyder will be an epic upgrade 😀 Regarding your Öhlin dampers, did you have the Öhlin shop in Karlstad to install them for you or where did you do that? I’m a bit interested in upgrading my base Cayman without PASM.
It was a factory (Öhlins factory) installation in Upplands Väsby.
BTW best upgrade you will ever make.
Thanks Janko! I was not aware that they had a factory in Upplands Väsby. Will contact them for an offer. Your review got me so hooked on the upgrade!
The factory dose not have any sales, look at there webpage for resellers.
Is ohlin's suspension/shocks compatible among 718 t and spyder/gt4 without modifications to ohlins?
Na, they will not fit. Different weight of cars etc. They will not fit.
Did your rear light clusters mist up all the time ? And freeze in winter ?
That's standar on all Porsches. Sorry but that's the fact, You need to be lucky if you don't get it.
After all that hype and enthusiasm for it! It can’t be more than 6months of ownership.
Correct, but you never know when you get an allocation. If I could I would have kept it for longer but I selected the Spyder instead. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
bra bil! Its always a bit sad to let a car go - in this case you put a lot of thoughts in updates - which all worked ;)
Now you can tell us the difference between the 4 and the 6 immediately as soon you get your Spyder on the road.
You used the 718 for race tracks - will you do it with the Spyder too?
Ohhh yes I will go on a track day with the Syder.
Will you be selling the Ohlins? I’m very interested!
Not sure... Nice to have them on the shelf, send me a PM via Instagram.
It will make a great and cheap track car for someone. Its hard to let them go. I go look at the new ones, then i look at mine,
2, 3 years old , low miles and i say ... mine just as good and too much money, not now but maybe later.
Hi Walt, I fully understand you. It is hard to let go of something good. In my case, I got the allocation and I took it. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Oh my god. I am picking up my cayman T today and I see several new videos of cayman t updated today. Emm, there must be something porsche did.
The Cayman T is a wonderful car and I already miss mine. Congratulations to yours. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
GTS 4.0 would be my only option on the 981/718 platform
Not trying to start a controversy but the term GT car in the Porsche language refers to specific models within the brand. As such a modified Cayman T is not a GT car and neither is a 718 Spyder.
Hi Ralph,
I don't want to argue with you when it comes to the Cayman T, and I could agree with you in regards to the Spyder if you also remove the GT4 since the motorsport department contributed to the 718 team in the development of the 718 Spyder/GT4 were the GT3 is a fully Motorsport project. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
@@JankoLind Hi Janko, as always I refer to Porsche as the final arbiter in such nomenclature decisions. No more, no less. However, while we can discuss pedigree all day long and I would likely agree with you on most, if not all of it, the fact remains that the GT4 does race in a GT4 class which gives justification to Porsche's nomenclature. As always I thoroughly enjoy your videos and only wish that I had access some to of the roads you get to drive on!
718 Spyder is a convertible 718 GT4 that has a 1 mph top speed differential - it’s a GT4 Spyder. It’s akin to saying a 911 Turbo cabriolet is not a 911 Turbo. It’s purely a difference in hard top vs soft top (aside from some aero - ie spoiler).
Random Hawks You miss the point. It may have all the components of the GT4 (sans a roof) but it is not labeled or marketed by Porsche (the only opinion that really matters here) as a GT4 Spyder. It does not race in any GT4 series. Consider it semantics if you like but when you do then how far do you take it? If I cut the roof off my GT4 and put a custom top on it does that make it a GT4 Spyder? No... so until Porsche calls it a GT4 Spyder or until it races as an open top car in a GT4 class it will always be simply a Spyder. Not taking anything away from the car at all with that. And BTW a 911 turbo and a turbo cabriolet are both turbos. They are both badged and marketed by Porsche that way. Neither of them race in any GT category so this is really an apples to oranges comparison.
Well, based on that logic, I suppose the 911 R is not a Motorsports car either? Bottom line, which I think is Janko’s point here, if Andreas Preuninger and the GT Motorsports team is involved (visually apparent by the GT front end aero), it’s a GT Motorsports car, regardless of whether it officially races in a named series or has ‘GT’ in the name. The 718 GT4 only has its additional downforce over the prior 981 GT4 due to the GT Motorsports team development of the diffuser for the 718 Spyder. If you say Porsche is the final arbiter, ask Andreas Preuninger & the GT team.
what a great car
Yes, it really is a great car. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
