Remember, his mother turned out not to be his mother. Turns out he was adopted. Then he finds out his buddy Vito is not who is billed himself to be either. So his feelings of betrayal are kinda justified.

The main reason I think he did that is because he defended Vito and then he turned out to be gay. He was afraid if he didn't then they would be mad at/do something to Paulie for trying to defend a gay guy.

Tony brings up the kids to calm them down. That's why chris says what he does. He grew up fatherless and also does it to say that maybe tony has a point because vitos kids will be fatherless
It's only done so tony can have more time to decide what to do. Because everyone is still in favour of whacking vito anyway

spreadthelove77 I remember during the original run, this guy I knew kept making a huge deal out of the fact that Patsy was the only one who laughed. I told him he was reading too much into things.
That’s the funny thing about Sopranos when it was ongoing. David Chase always said he gave his audience credit and didn’t spoon feed them everything....which is true. But some people took it overboard and started thinking themselves sleuths on par with Dick Tracy and Batman once this series was in it’s 4th and 5th seasons and started analyzing a character’s tone of voice or a cough.

The idea that there could have been confusion about this always bothered me about this scene. How could Finn possibly have phrased the initial story where it would have been ambiguous? I know it sets up the outrage in this scene but it's too big a stretch.

To this day, Finn probably regrets makes this distinction. It was this distinction that got Vito killed. Carlo could have forgiven pitching but catching? Never catching. 1 year before he passed away, i had the pleasure of briefly meeting James Gandolfini. What made it that much more awesome is the fact that a few weeks prior to the encounter, i had started watching the entire series for the 3rd or 4th time (One of ,if not my #1 all time fav show). So, I operate a freight elevator, and he was expected to be in the building that day. ..To my surprise "There he is"! , walking right into my elevator. My guess is, he chose the that route to keep a low profile. Obviously, I was in total awe lol. Needless to say , being in the middle of the show intensified how surreal it was....it got even crazier. So there i am, bringing up "Tony" , minding my business trying to be cool, and the voice comes directly at ME. The thing that left me completely mind fucked is that he joked around and made mention of a coat..i remember him saying to me, "..so howabout you, ya wanna leather coat?" Or something to that affect. .anyway the episode i was currently watching was the one with the coat Richie gave Tony that he didn't want. Which he later gave to the maids husband lmao. A few years later, in the same building, I'd meet the actor Joseph Siravo, who played Johnny Soprano. Him, i was able to get a photo with. What a memory! James Gandolfini was really cool in real life, and I will enjoy his work on screen for many years to come. May he rest in peace.🙏

Maybe he was going to ask about Vito's medication.

I wonder how many takes the actors had to do for this scene. It looks like some of the actors are trying hard not to burst out laughing.

"It will be ok. We'll get him to pay for some therapy." Finn knew that was bullshit and he basically signed Vito's death warrant. This is probably why him and Med ended up breaking up.

0:24 I love how the fact it was Vito blowing the security guy that tipped them over the edge, like it was somehow ok up until they found that out

I think, that up to that point it could dismissed as a “thing” but after that, yeah no.

If you're in a room with Tony and Paulie says "you gonna have no problems with someone" you can actually say to yourself "I know people" 😂

2:11 look at how Chris's laugh makes Tony almost smile!!! That really made a big difference for me. As an actor, I find it hard to not laugh when acting with people I know especially ones who make me laugh all the time... So to see Tony almost lose control of his seriousness was awesome!!!
