The disrespect for the Group of 5 is unreal. I swear, P5 fans, especially SEC fans treat the G5 like it's NAIA ball. You say that suites aren't common in G5 stadiums (they are). You imply most G5 stadiums don't have nice exteriors (they do). Sure there are some pretty run down G5 stadiums (see: New Mexico. But even that has suite seating). But people forget that the G5 is FBS, just like P5. We never hear any slander about Vanderbilt or Indiana. How about them? Or is it just because they're SEC and B1G that they get a pass? It's such a stupid mindset.
The G-5 game day experience is way nicer too. With plenty of elbow room you don't have to worry about the 400 lb. mouth-breathers crowding out a whole row of seats like you do in the SEC.
Yeah I'm going to to apologize for my fellow SEC fans and let you know that the whole "SEC superiority" crap gets on some of our nerves too. Sorry about that.
I have been to most of these. #10 Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Al. is way nicer than just about all of the ones on this list. By the way, it seats 47,000, so it is not small by any means.
UAB got a new stadium because: 1. Legion field is literally falling apart 2. The cut this FB program and their donor giving plummeted, so they brought it back
I'm a Wyo grad. Love seeing games at the war. They've completed a lot of great improvements and renovations over the last several years that you should see. Great views and atmosphere for college football. That said, the concessions and restrooms under the stands are ancient. I have to admit Colorado State's new stadium is pretty awesome and really should have found a spot on your list. It's completely modern, brand-new feel, etc. Probably at least top five. It cost the university over $200 million to build.
Love the Glass Bowl! I do objectively think it’s a better stadium than a few on this list, but after looking at the stadiums about halfway through the list, I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be included here in the top half. It really could use some renovation on the east side upper bleachers. Maybe if a MAC team gets into the NY6 this year.
My brother’s an alumni of the University. The whole story of how they lost their football was never told by the mainstream sports media cause it doesn’t paint UAT in a very good light
Either you don’t pay attention or you are not from around here They played at Legion field, but it is really old plus it was city, but Protective stadium is owned by UAB.
Yes Protective Stadium does have a smaller capacity, but there has been talk about adding a second level deck all the way around except for where the Boxes are, in addition adding more private sky boxes and a private sky club, plus adding a third level around the North Endzone and Eastern Stands, these are opposing the Scoreboard Endzone, and the boxes already there, this is to attract an NFL expansion team, or a relocation

App's seating arrangement may leave something to be desired (though I think they're planning another renovation) but they pack it and the scenery/environment is hard to beat.

And despite a very competitive game (34-31) the crowd was well under 15,000 attendees with large sections of the SDSU "home side" mostly empty seats. Take away the student "free seats" section (almost 6000 students) & it's kind of embarrassing as a "home field".

There’s no renovation for Fresno State. The voters rejected a tax increase that would have paid for the renovation of many Fresno State facilities.
