David… your video on polygamy and this testimony that you bore on it in this interview… is exactly what my heart needed to hear.
I’m a descendant of polygamy … my great grandparents … my grandmother was raised in one of the colonies in Mexico… and this inspired view of it has made me appreciate the sacrifice they made to live this law. I have referred your video on this to many that have struggled with the thought of polygamy ❤❤

I follow David on is channel and think he is so kind and knows the scripture so well. I wonder if those that leave our faith or are of other faiths realize that when they are bringing up church history or saying the Bible is the only scripture are what Lehi seen in his vision of the great and spacious building and those that were pointing and mocking those that we’re holding on to the iron rod and those that had made it to the tree/Christ. Good video😊

I really appreciate your testimonies. Both of you! Thank you for your work and this interview. Today I spotted a FB friend reposting a derogatory image with a bunch of content outlining many of the usual complaints against religion. Rather than argue against that muck point by point and getting myself down into that muck as well, I decided to take a more positive approach. Today it was a repost of this interview. No, I didn't post it as a comment. It deserved a posting of its own with my comment of recommendation. Thank you for helping me to share the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the joy it brings.

One of my favorite vids too!
David... out of all these videos you've put out, have you ever shared the moment you actually realized, or at least openly admitted to the fact the scriptures teach God is a Spirit who is an eternal heavenly man? I ask this because that's when I had to admit around 25 years ago, only the "Mormons" were getting it right. For starters... when I read Jesus is the express image of His Father, there was no turning back to even consider a superstitious trinity or a Unitarian concept of one Being who shape shifts as two others at will.
I guess I'm asking the moment you knew today's trinity is a nonsensical lie. Was it before you called in the Sister Missionaries or after their teaching?
    Thanks David. :>)

@@godsoffspring4195 That is regarding those who don't know God..... Or the unbelieving heathen world...For I know the Church it is taught that God the Father and also his Son Jesus Christ both have glorified resurrected bodies of flesh and bones today.. And that won't change. because God can't change that.
That is why one of the Lords picked Daniel up off the ground, one of them already had a tangible body. For Christ had not yet been resurrected for he had not come to earth in the flesh yet to take upon himself a body of flesh and bones We also find out in John 20:17 that the Lord Jesus worships another Lord God other than himself that he worships Lord God the Father as his Lord and his God. John 20:17 destroys the 4th century man made theory of three members of the Godhead all crammed up all inside of one single physical being known as the Trinity. that's incorrect teaching. so we don't teach it.
I believe God The Father was also hiding inside of the cloud on the Mount of Transfiguration so the apostles they couldn't see his resurrected body until they went into the cloud to see for themselves. For Jesus had not yet been resurrected so we know this wasn;t Jesus who was speaking from inside of the cloud but was another Lord God that was speaking. and addressing his son Jesus Christ to his apostles saying, This is My Beloved Son, Hear him.
The Latter-day saints know the truth about God and his son having tangible physical glorified bodies of flesh and bone.
But because it wasn't time of the Restoration for the Father to reveal himself and his body to all the world the apostles were forbidden to speak about it. The truth would be made known in 1830 when 14 year old Joseph Smith went into the garden to pray about James 1:5. Then God revealed himself to him along with his son.

    • @germanslice
      @germanslice 6 місяців тому

@@godsoffspring4195 I think that's referring to the unbelieving heathern world who does not know God that they imagine him to be all sorts of things.. But we know from revelation from latter-day prophets on the earth today that God and his Son both have tangible resurrected bodies and the standard works as well as the Bible confirms that truth. That they are eternal spirit beings clothed with glorified resurrected bodies of flesh and bone. so I can easily dismiss the 46,000 churches because I know the Lord won't be speaking his mind and will through them. because the scriptures teach me that the Lord will be speaking his mind and will from his prophets in Zion in the last days.

I often challenge the anti mormons to show me anything as bad in Joseph's life compared to King David. Even if Joseph would have done all the things that he is accused of, yet nothing of that would compare to the actions of David, yet these accusers are not going to throw out the Psalms of David, are they?

And when I am referring to King David and his behavior, I am not only talking about the adultery and murder of bathsheba's husband. David did other Grievous sins, even worse sins than that. He already had two wives when he stole another man's wife to himself (Milcah). He was planning to go on a war campaign, and for that reason he numbered all the military men in Israel. God was very angry about this. He was punished in a way that allowed him to choose from three options. One of the options would have been exile for a few months. But he chose the option that cost thousands of people to die in Jerusalem. Also he commanded his servants to murder the man who had cursed him when David had murdered Bathseba's husband. Even though at the time of the cursing David accepted the cursing as being just! There is nothing comparable in the life of Joseph Smith to King David's sins.

Can anyone give me something better than the Church of Jesus Christ? I’ve been told I’m part of a cult, or that Joseph Smith was lazy and indolent or that I don’t worship the correct Jesus…but never had anyone offered me a better understanding of God or a logical explanation of various key passages found within the same Bible that sat upon their nightstands. I could walk into 4 different churches on one intersection and not one of them even would attempt to show me that they are the Church that Christ established when he was on the earth. Isn’t that the church you would want to be part of?
What does that Church even look like and is there anyone that can offer any similarities to that ancient Christian church found in the New Testament?
Christ’s church was a living church, meaning it was lead by Christ himself through revelation. When a prophet or apostle got out of line, Christ put him back on track! [Acts 10:10-16]
The church was built upon apostles and prophets [Eph 2:19-20] but I’ve never had anyone tell me of another church with apostles and prophets. The Bible says we’d have apostles and prophets “until we all came to a unity of faith” [Eph 4:11-14]. Does it look like we’re united?
When Judas was gone, the apostles chose someone to take his spot as an apostle. Did someone authorize the discontinuance of that practice? [Acts 1:22-25]
The Father and The Son are separate and distinct individuals. Christ exclaims that “My Father is greater than I” [John 14:28] on one occasion, and on another He looks to heaven and says “Father…I thank thee that thou hast heard me.” [John 11:41] In his last moments on the cross He asks His Father why He has forsaken Him. Why on earth in this hour of extreme pain and fatigue would He ask himself why He has forsaken Himself? He also asks His Father to “forgive them for they know not what they do” and finally relents, “into Thy hands I commend my Spirit”. To think that Christ is speaking to himself or some distant manifestation of himself just doesn’t do justice to the character of Christ. The water, gas, and ice or 3 in 1 egg example used to define the trinitarian concept of God doesn’t hold up and is nowhere to be found in the New Testament.
Never in the Bible does it mention children being baptized, and never is baptism performed without an accompanying large body of water.
What church on earth has an answer for children that have died in infancy or those that have never heard the name of Christ? If belief in Christ and baptism by immersion is a requirement for salvation, then there ought to be a provision made by a just and loving God. Peter taught that the gospel was preached to them that are dead [1 Pet 4:6] and it follows that Christ’s church would perform baptisms for the dead or for those that didn’t have the opportunity to be baptized. [1 Cor 15:29]
What about degrees of glory in heaven or multiple kingdoms? Paul said he visited or saw in vision a “third heaven” [2 Cor 12:2-4] Does that mean there is a first and second? What church today talks about these things?
What about eternal marriage? Why would you want to be with your sweetheart “until death do you part” when [1 Cor 11:11] Paul says that the man and the woman are together “in the Lord”.
What church echo’s Paul’s teachings about the “body being a temple” [1 Cor3:16-17] more so than the Chrch of Jesus Christ and its Word of Wisdom? Studies have confirmed that Mormon’s are among the healthiest people in the world because of this code of living.
The list is endless…but If I go past 2000 words here, no one will read it. Friends have asked me to leave the Church I have described above. My reply is similar to Peter’s. “To whom will I go” [John 6:68] Honestly…where can I go that I can learn about all of these things found within the Bible that no one else is talking about? But you say…the temple is weird, and Joseph Smith was bad, and some strange practices have taken place in the past and in the present. That is what they said of Peter and the apostles when they walked the earth. Can you imagine what the Lord taught the 12 apostles during his “40 day ministry” when he taught them “things pertaining to the Kingdom of God”? [Acts 1] Does anyone know what those things were that he taught…and why it took 40 days to discuss?
My question is simple and honest; Can anyone give me something better than the Mormon Church…and if so what is it and where is it? how does it stack up against the structure of the original Christian church that Christ established?
    Author-Greg Tremble
    P.S.
Greg wrote this article years before President Nelson announced the proper name to be used.

David ,like you, I believe the church was built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets but unlike you I joined the RLDS church. After Joseph Smith’s death in 1844 I believed the priesthood continued with Joseph Smith III, the prophet’s son, not Brigham Young. In 1880 this was proven in Lake County, Ohio in a U.S. federal court.

That doesn't hold true with Priesthood succession shown in the Bible. Joshua was a captain, when he is first mentioned in the Bible. He is called by Moses as one of the Seventy Elders chosen out of all Israel to help judge Israel, also called Priests, Prophets and Judges in the Old Testament. He was selected to accompany Moses when he went into the mountains to speak to God, when Moses received the first commandments, the stone tablets he threw down and broke. Later, after many of the Isrealites had been killed by God for rebelling, Joshua is listed as one of the Twelve Princes of Israel and the representative for the tribe of Ephraim, along with Caleb of the tribe of Judah, they are the only ones to give positive reports when sent to spy out the land. For this God promises that they will be the only ones over the age of twelve to enter the Promised Land. When Moses' assistant Aaron dies, Joshua takes his place. And when Moses "dies" and is "buried by the hand of the Lord" (according to the much later addition to the Bible text), what happens? Does one of Moses' two sons or his grandsons take his place as the leader of the Children of Israel? No! Joshua as the senior member of the Twelve Princes of Israel took Moses' place as leader of the Children of Israel. The same position that Brigham Young held in the Twelve Apostles of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. And thus we see that God's Church is the same yesterday, today and forever. And it doesn't matter what any court or man decides. God has chosen and prospered his Church, while those offshoots of men have altered or faltered or dwindled or died or all of the above. In fact no churches today are led by descendants of Joseph Smith Jr.

I say this with much love, but the Community of Christ (formerly known as the Restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or RLDS) is not led by a descendant of Joseph Smith and has said the Book of Mormon is not scripture, but just a good book. I don't see the restoration there.
