Just recently found a passion for the old Rock Island. This layout and motive power is unreal. Great collection. Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning layout and perfectly representative of the area that you are modelling. It was also very enjoyable to see a wide sampling of Rock Island motive power.
It was rare to see a matched set of locomotive paint schemes in a freight train consist ……. especially a clean matched set. Thanks for watching the video. Mike
I love that stretch of jointed rail. What a fantastic layout. I am a 25 year rail myself. My family worked for Rock Island, NKP and Santa Fe. I was in operations and now safety where I will finish my career. I hope to build a layout on par with this depicting the MoPac's Austin Sub... Austin to Taylor. 1978-1984 time frame. Look forward to more videos'.
Thank you very much for watching the video and I really appreciate your comments. Congratulations on your 25 year railroad career and all the best to you as you plan and build your MoPac model railroad. Mike
Another great video showing off the different paint schemes that the Rock Island had. You have done a bang up job on weathering the locomotives and rolling stock.
I always enjoy your vids. The Rock did have a variety of diesels but 6:28 surprised me because I did not know they owned a GP20(my favorite diesel). Actually the stacks give it away as a GP7M but the slanted low nose makes it look like a GP20.
The Rock Island chopped the nose on GP9 1321 during a shopping program giving it a GP20 look. Thanks very much for watching and for your comments! Mike
Such an amazing layout! You capture the undulating landscape of the Midwest superbly. And the variety of motive power paint schemes the Rock Island had is so well represented. Thanks for yet another great video!
Hey! Just stumbled upon your videos. I love the Midwest railroading. You got a very nice-looking layout. I am going through some of your older videos. Keep the videos coming. I subbed.
I appreciate your comments regarding my layout and videos. Thank you for subscribing and checking out the videos. I have just now subscribed to your channel. Mike
OUTSTANDING!!! Love the layout and how you run trains. Appriciate that you keep the speed to where we can watch and the focus interesting. Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding modeling!! The light weathering on your diesels reflects the color of the ballast dust that would kick up with each passing train. Love the varied paint schemes with the beautiful weathering!!
I Blame you. You, Sir have influenced me about getting back in the hobby. I'm Milwaukee Road, Conrail, L&N/Family Lines as well. Amtrak was running east and west through Terre Haute, Indiana. So 1train both ways. Your channel, your skills are very fun to watch. Keep up your awesomeness ! Chad.
Nice to see a new video on your amazing layout. Great camera work and video editing of various trains running on your Rock Island Mid-Continent Route.-Tom
