The scary thing is that bodybuilders have to so this for months in end and how Will feels gets progressively worse as the show approaches.
You can see why I developed low calorie high protein meals that are filling. Having competed 59 times I needed to develop a diet that would reduce the suffering.

Hunger is caused by Ghrelin, a hormone which comes in waves, like literally waves on the beach. You feel hungry for half an hour, get busy, focus on something else for 30 minutes and the hunger goes away and it comes back a few hours later. When I cut I always push my dinner way into the night like 9-10pm to curb my late night cravings. I know some people don’t like going to sleep feeling stuffed but that’s what I do.

When on such big deficit, it’s not the feeling of hunger that gets to you. It’s the overall lack of energy. It makes you wonder if it’s worth it. And then one night you just get really hungry and you overeat.

I usually have _two_ meals a day, lunch and dinner. This way you can eat until full and still not go massively over your calorie budget. If I tried eating a million meals a day like I see so many people do I'd probably end up eating twice as much.

I encourage all of you to do a research and find a diet that could work for you. If you still don't know where to start, consider Next Level Diet as your starting point (it comes with a workout plan which I find convenient as it doesn't require going to the gym at all). @@lkf8627 that smells fishy, i suspect inaccurately tracking calories. most ppl assume that condiments dont have calories or track them incorrectly. Get a kitchen scale to weigh food, measuring cups and spoons. Also when you said u burn x amount of calories that's irrelevant because i can assure you that's inaccurate (there's no way to accurately track this).
      Here's what to do:
**Important** Do not change your activity level throughout this process.
1-Find your actual maintenance. Eat at 2500 calories for 3-4 weeks while weighing yourself daily
1.1-Get the weekly averages of your weight, you'll use the averages for step two
2-If you gained weight, then thats not your maintenance, drop your calories according to how much weight you gained (take your weight gained in lb and multiply by 3500, then divide by the number of days you did the process for [example 21 days if u did 3 weeks]. The resulting number is how many calories a day you were approximately over your actual maintenance
2.1-If you maintained weight, then now DON'T crash diet and only do 200-300 calorie deficits, ie eat 2200-2300 calories
2.2-If you lost weight, then keep eating at 2500

It's cute that Will and Katie are doing the challenge together ❤ I'm on a really restrictive diet right now to combat a flair up of my stomach hernia and other stomach issues and my husband is on the journey with me. He's adapted to my dietary needs many times! I'm on a low FODMAP, gluten/dairy free diet. We both love big flavors and it's been hard on this diet because onion, garlic, mushrooms, asparagus and so many other things we enjoy are on the list of things I should avoid. I do most of the cooking and am always happy to make food for him that I can't eat but he usually just wants to eat what I make. I love cooking so it's been fun finding new ways to flavor food!

this was a really good video. perfect mixture of entertainment and informative content. I've always thought that lifestyle choices are more important to focus on than food. if u move more, sleep better, set good routines then ur food intake should naturally improve/align with that. just focusing merely on food and restriction can be such a sad and unsustainable way to live. I've only been consistently weight training for the last 6 months and for the most part I haven't followed any diet structure. I hit a pb 90kg squat the other day which isn't a lot to most but I'm happy about it and I'm improving month by month and my body is slowly changing as a result. If u struggle to workout, try first walking, even 1 push up is a push up. 10 day 1 push up is 10 push ups u could have skipped cause its just one. Weightlose is a journey not a maraton. I don't binge but become a sloth. Even if I eat higher volume, my body just 'knows' and its damn good at processing high fiber anyways. It also knows the difference between sweetners and sugar. If I don't hit 50-70 grams of sugar, I'll suddenly want to eat a whole watermelon or lots of bread/rice... it just 'knows' and I've just accepted to dance and work out all that extra energy.

At some point you learn what your body can and can't handle, I know at 1200kcal my expenditure and quality of life drops to uselessness, I can mind over matter it but poor sleep, don't lose much more. 1600 is a sweet spot for me. Both are still more or less in crash-diet range for me, but I do like an aggressive cut because oddly enough it affects my chronic pain. So ~1y of bulking and only 2-3 months of cutting. 2 years ago 1200kcal did work, but the deficit wasn't as big as it is now.
