This is the greatest card game franchise of All Time Merch moistglobal.com/ I stream every day / moistcr1tikal Original video • Why Was Yugioh SO AWES...
It's sad but also quite heartwarming in a way. The man who made our childhoods just a little bit better and in his final minutes, gave his life for other people especially at 60 years of age. The man was worth tens of millions of dollars and still he decided to risk his life for a complete stranger. Most millionaires lose their sense of humanity but not Kazuki Takahashi. I compete in regional swimming competitions and I'm not even confident that I would have dove in there to try to save someone. My only wish is that he'll be remembered for what he is, a hero.
@@MingChilling- Yeah, it happened recently. I find it crazy that a 60 year old millionaire swam into a riptide to save total strangers. Kazuki had a brass set of balls.
@TotallyNotJoe_ he just said that because it was an American Soldier he has no proof because there is none a lot of people like to be edgy and say All American soldiers are war criminals.....trash take might as well say all soldiers are war criminals
Honestly when I heard how he died, I went from sad to proud of the guy. Honored to have enjoyed his works as a child, and knowing that the values the story taught us as kids, was kept by the creator all the way to the end. And inspiration to us all.
Never watched Yugioh, but it's still sad to know that he passed away and I realize that he created a show that people loved so much. And to see him die drowning and saving people is just words can't describe. Such an absolute legend
He is the biggest Yugiboomer I’ve ever fucking seen. I hope he’s being ironic with his reasonings on why Yugioh is bad now. He’s wearing a Yami Yuugi costume and making skits about cards that aren’t OP trying to make them seem broken. He has to be doing it ironically, this Act Man person. Is he self aware?
@@chaocobojun2098 act man has been pretty reliable in the past when breaking down his dislikes for a series, i agree with alot of his other videos but yeah some of his reasoning here is wacked out. about all. agree with from him here is hand traps are stupid and the game is really complex to come back to
@@SCloud-yy6hn As a YGO noob who only recently got into the game this year, Master Duel does a good job of teaching basics of the game today + reviewing the types of extra deck summoning. It's always cool when his "I don't like this" monotone (this is not an insult, I love that he doesn't scream) goes away and his little kid bouncing in his seat from excitement comes out.
@@DavidBrave244 Yeah, you can't do a normal summon directly into defense mode. Only attack mode or set (back side up). From set you can then flip to defense mode next turn.
As far as I remember, summoning monster in defense face up position was legal back then. It's just nobody do that because your opponent will never attack when their monster's attack power are clearly below your monster's defense power.
@@manuelsputnik This is actually false, if you flip summon a monster, you have to put it into attack position. It only stays in defense if it is attacked.
It would be EPIC if Yu-Gi-Oh made an anime about reincarnations of the main characters, personalities too, and they would have new types of decks like Yugi would have a complete Magician archetype deck and Joey would have a red eyes deck.
My headcannon is that, at the end of the Battle City arc, when Yugi and Joey finally duel by themselves at an alleyway, Joey actually wins and gets his Red-Eyes back from Yugi. That explains why he have it in the subsequent arcs (that I'm aware that are anime original).

My sister and I used to play eachother with the Yugi and Kaiba starter decks as kids. I think I stopped playing shortly after Fusion cards were introduced. This is my first time seeing the more modern cards. I had no idea the game had changed so much. The amount of text on these newer cards is insane!
Lava Golem is a card that holds a special place in my heart because when I was a kid my friend and I both had it, but none of us knew how it worked and the card text was so small we never even bothered, so we just took inspiration from the anime and summoned it on each other's field, but instead of losing 1000 LP the one who kept it on the field for 3 turns automatically lost, and it couldn't change from DEF to ATK position
They did that years and years ago. It was cancelled. The companies in Japan got angry that they were making an uncut English dub without their permission and put a stop to it all.
@@darknight10000 I have never once in my life heard that. 4kids is the same company that was sued for bastardizing One Piece and had their dubbing rights taken away from it. Why would Japan get mad they’re NOT bastardizing their series when they even bought all the rights to it? Back that up with a source or I’m absolutely calling TVTokyo slander. The reason I always heard was that the uncut DVDs didn’t sell well because parents didn’t want to choose between two versions of the same dvd and if they did choose then “uncut” sounded too scary or mature for their 10 year old.
Literally anyone who swims in the ocean knows you have a crazy high chance of dying WITH the people you try to save if you do that. It's almost always advised that you don't go in the ocean. But somehow he was the only guy that died in the end. Which is heroic af
I remember reading the Yugioh arc where they travel back in ancient Egypt and had to use the actual monsters and gods to fight each other. That was probably the best arc in any manga ever.
I feel comforted by the fact that I am not the only one who struggled with how difficult yugioh can be 😭 I'm just not that strategic, I'm one of those "use the pokemon that I like" kind of gamers
Well it's easier to do that with Pokemon for sure and that's all I'll ever do with Pokemon and too a certain extent Yu-Gi-Oh too but I get what you mean for sure
lol the game is extremely complicated for newcomers. i remember when it first got popular in my highschool i would sit with my friends and watch them play and like 90% of the time i would just be sitting there like “wtf is happening right now”
@@franklinnartz1381 It took me ~8 years of my childhood, playing multiple of the video games and attending occasional tournaments before I fully understood all the technicalities of the game. Pokemon took 10 minutes, and Magic took maybe an hour or two.
I'm honestly glad I was able to continue following the card game incrementally throughout the years. Literally the moment I saw a new type of monster and a different color border, I just UA-cam'd "How Synchros work".
@@MingChilling- you're joking right. There is nothing more alpha than telling someone you're gonna kill em only to spare their life right before you off em. Like you aren't even worth my time to kill you're too weak.
My favorite decks were for Atlantians, Dinosaurs, Gem Knights, and some early Zombie stuff all of which are extremely outdated and slow compared to modern stuff. Now, I may never win with these decks, but there’s still something great about setting down a Tyranno Infinity with like 25,000 attack

As someone who has adored Yu-Gi-Oh (the anime) for over 10 years and has a sizable collection of things from the OG series including the 98 anime, this video and Charlie’s passion makes me happy 💜
As someone who used to regularly duel my friends and classmates like 15 years ago, checking out the mechanics now and the game's turned from checkers to solving the Millennium Prize Problems.
This is so cool you uploaded this. I am such a huge fan of nostalgic yugioh, and just yesterday night I broke the speedrun World Record for a Yugioh DS game that came out 12 years ago. Such a cool coincidence! :)
My husband was a day care teacher and he would build decks for the day care kids from all of his collection. He won tournaments for all types of card games and he had decks for everything from Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Magic, Vangard, MLP and even WoW TCG. He was the favourite teacher XD
going down memory lane of Yugioh always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside of nostalgia. It was so much fun being punk 8th, 9th grader kids and between the 4 of us we all had our own unique decks and I was the kid with a full Exodia set. It was so awesome to totally surprise random kids at the card shop who wanted to duel with Exodia every time. They would never see it coming.
What I love about getting back into YugiOh through Masterduel is not knowing anything about the opponents decks and sitting through like a few minutes of shuffling through main deck/extra deck/and graveyard and after a long sequence you have this little pause and then BOOM glorious animation. I always feel a little anxiety during that sequence but its always exciting not knowing what im getting myself into
I rember dueling with a friend back in 7th grade. We had decks that were this huge pile of way more than 40 cards and we kept messing up the actual effects of the cards and pulling random saves out of our asses. Damned duels lasted for an hour if need be. Feels amazing to remember that.
Part 1 of The Complete History of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Meta provides a lot more information on how the meta evolved from 2002 to 2005. Still waiting on Part 2, but Part 1 is absolutely amazing and I thoroughly recommend it to literally everyone in every social conversation I have.
I grew out of it around 5D’s era, but started playing Master Duel this week. It’s a bit different. I knew nothing past synchro summons so it DID take me awhile to adjust to the new rules & cards.
The song that plays when Joey and yugi duel fucking SMOKES. It’s pure fire. Legit brings tears to my eyes. No matter what off the music to duel by cd. I remember my best friend when we were gonna duel one time put it on, I’ve never forgot. We would always throw that in on random playlists like when we would play nazi zombies back in the world at war days when we would play in his basement. His room was next to the laundry room and the smell of certain laundry soap also brings me back. He got into a bad situation and I hope I’ll get to see him again. He was/is my brother and I hope he feels the same. Sorry about this random rant. I just wanted to get this off my chest. This comment took a left turn.
I don't see why old players hate on Yu-Gi-Oh, you want to play modern play the current format, if you want to play by old playground rules then get your friends and play old cards only or like Charlie said play GOAT format.
The “World Wide Web” was still being born for my 6th grade in 1994. Playboy Dot Com was rebellious cause it wasn’t an anatomy book in the public library.
Yugioh will always be my favorite card game. its just so much fun. Broken or not, ive had some of my most tense PVP moments in all of gaming. Nothing feels better than pulling yourself out of bad situations and get the dub.
i ended up liking magic more. But i won my first nintendo ds in a yugioh bet in like 5th grade. I still remember going behind the school with a group because it was banned in school
I'm glad Konami has brought some censored artworks to the US with The Lost Art Promotion. Parasite Paracide, the Exodia set, Barrel Dragon, Dark Magician Girl and lots of random small censored cards. It's a great promotion and fun to pick them up and see some iconic classic arts
Or they could, like, release those cards in an actual set or simply make them actually readily available so you don’t have to be forced into special buying conditions at specific locations to get them. Or they could, you know, not censor them in the first place if they’re going to release them later. Like not all of us go to card shops, and not all of us want to spend $30 or however much it is you have to spend at a card shop just to get a card we should’ve gotten years before when the card was initially released. It’s a huge hassle and price gouge for no reason. I very much like that we are getting these beautiful artworks now, but we should have got them at release or they should have been mass produced readily available cards when printed this time. This is NOT the way, Konami. I just want the cool arts please stop locking them behind promo only paywalls..
It's really sweet to see a person go on and on and on about a franchise they're so passionate about. It's so wholesome, even a little bit inspiring. Never let anyone stop you from what you enjoy, ever!
Honestly, I feel like the meta game at this point isn’t even that complicated as far as things go. A Splight turn nowadays isn’t that hard to follow, so long as you don’t try to follow it in real time. Looking at the log in master duel or something when you’re playing against even something like DDD is a bit of a pill to swallow but if you just break it down into the individual card interactions it makes more sense than you’d expect.
When I show my collection of Yughio and Pokemon I truly feel like a Historian appreciating 1st edition and movie promo collection cards. I never was truly good but can appreciate going to shinders (rip) or your local card/comic book store for local and regional tournaments. I may continue to get old but my heart will forever be young.
10:33 This hurt to watch as a Sky Striker player. He brings out Hayate, doesn't attack directly, and links her away lmao. Even Charlie knew that was the win condition.
I'm glad to see mortals are beginning to grasp the mighty battle of minds that is Paradox-Billiards-Vostroyan-Roulette-Fourth-Dimensional-Hypercube-Chess-Strip Poker... I am impressed sir.
I love this franchise. Every installment of the anime too. It disappoints me to no end when people dismiss anything past the original series without even giving it a shot because "it ruined muh childhood!" 5D's and Vrains are so good...
I tried so hard in middle school to get into this game , It was quite literally impossible. Tho this never stopped me from enjoying watching people play.
I can't believe it's actually possible to, and has happened multiple times, be able to win the match turn one because the cards you drew for your hand cause a chain reaction that synergises with the rest of your deck letting you beat your opponent instantly
I love this franchise, this has been my entire childhood. I miss these simpler times, trading cards with my cousins and battling several hours a day. I still got a huge card collection, but coming back to playing Yu Gi OH seems very imtimidating with all these new mechanics and cards.
I'd recommend picking up a Structure Deck that is themed around some of your more favoured cards. The Structure Deck releases since 2019 (the Rise of the Duelist set) are all fairly banging, and as for learning the mechanics: I'd recommend going in super hard on a single style of Summoning and building your deck theory around that. For instance, we'll use a fresh structure deck; Legend of the Crystal Beasts. Focused around "The Crystal Beast" Main Deck Monsters and getting them into the GraveYard to bring out "Rainbow Dragon" or its Fusion variant, "Rainbow OverDragon". So now take this premise to the extreme and add and take Cards from the Main Deck until you have 40 cards that all are expressly for the purpose of setting up the Special Summon of "Rainbow Dragon" via sending "The Crystal Beasts" to the GY. This is where YuGiOh TCG can get pretty fun in my opinion, as the idea at this stage is balance out the Deck, through cutting and adding cards, so that it can handle multiple game situations. Also the Story Mode in YuGiOh Master Duel does a lot for wrapping your head around timings with Modern, like how to handle being Link Summoned on multiple times. Hope this helps :)
As an OG yugioh judge, there is one thing I would like to point out is that mtg is much more strategically complicated, while YGO is just rules-complicated. Magic is simple, it lets players and decks “choose” its complexity. You have to use life as a resource and actually spare lands and resources to play in the long run. YGO is strategically dumb, the deck plays by itself. It is rock paper scissor but with cards, money and time needed.
My main experience with Yu-Gi-Oh growing up was actually the Abridged Series by littlekuriboh. I maybe watched a few episodes over a few weeks at one point in my life on 4kids but like nah man. When youtube started blowing up and YGOTAS started going up that was my main interaction with the series. What a great piece of internet history that has been. It's a bit rough to go back to though. Someday I'd like to rewatch it again.
If Pokemon TCG is a game of chess, then Magic the Gathering is a game of Fire Emblem- far more complex, but still with the same basic premise going for it. Yugioh is Marvel vs Capcom 3 and I love it.
I love it so much. It’s what built Yugioh and it’s extremely important to the story and characters. And it’s FUN! Unfortunately we never got a good anime adaptation of it. Season 0 anime was changed to a shell of itself and replaced many events and character personalities with different ones, and the card anime just erased it and rewrote two events from it very poorly leading to some awful continuity errors. We need a brand new Yugioh anime adaptation of manga volumes 1-7 and the Millenium World Egypt arc. Anime adaptations that are faithful to the manga, because in both cases they changed a ton. Also we need a Yugioh R adaptation.
TCG player here. I remember almost winning locals with dark worlds once. Only lost to volcanics with an insanely lucky triple volcanic counter setup really early on and he drew multiple magic cylinder and sat behind zenmaines. Old meta was so much more fun since the end boards were usually 1 negate at best and some counterplay like mirror force or magic cylinders
Other formats, such as Goat and Edison, are now supported officially by Konami, and are played in bigger events as well, under the "Time Wizard" name, and other formats like "Common Charity", where players only play with cards that were printed in common rarity are planned to be supported soon.
@@zacharykolbe161 all games are not beginner friendly, same with magic or pokemon, your knowledge of a game is all dependent on your willingness to learn a game, the time you put into it, and the support you have from other players.
@@Coolkidz-de3wm I suppose. But it would be a lot more fun if more people played and supported the game. Making it more accessible to new players is beneficial.
As someone who actually learned to play modern Yu-Gi-Oh and once complained about how difficult it was, it's honestly not that bad but I can see how people might say it's uninteractive and difficult. The Act Man says one of his favorite decks is Bad Reaction to Simochi, a deck that FTKs the opponent and sometimes plays floodgates so your opponent can't stop you. A HUGELY uninteractive deck compared to most decks in modern Yu-Gi-Oh.
I hope this video reaches out to more people. They really need to start to comprehend that the game competevely has been so deep since its first inception in the OCG in 1999, and by 2003 already so much shit could happen in a match. And casually speaking you can still play Yugioh for fun and have a blast with your friends bringing whatever the fuck you want to the table and literally anything can happen. Not only that, if you are not ready to get into "constructed" yugioh or you don't feel like it there are SO MANY ways to enjoy the game! Being them Sealed, draft or older formats. Plus Speed Duel exists, which is Yugioh for babies that could also become quite intense. People are just *convinced* that this game is stupid and unfun and I am sick of it. It only depens on how you decide to experience it.
People look at something that has been on an insanely active upswing since 2017, proclaim it dead or irrelevant/stupid. It’s peak idiocy. Konami is actually genius, and has held out on things like cash prizing and alternative formats for so long, they can now open a massive floodgate at their will. They have held back on things that MTG and Pokémon have bloated up their fan base with for decades. Masters of looking stupid one minute, being stupidly profitable the next. Put it this way, if Maxx C ever came back… people will be putting down payments on homes with Ulti Maxx C money. That gets people talking.
The game is arguably in its best state that it has been in a while. Between MD and the TCG, the meta is fairly varied. While Mystic Mine is still a big issue, there's rarely a better time to jump in
@@zacharybernal2708 hilarious because we are borderline in a “tier zero” format right now, after being in a format where the diversity was so high that people were getting tired of things because fusion mishmashing and mystic mining was muddying the waters. I remember locals being a very anti fusion environment, and now people are dropping WAY more money on last formats best decks despite being in a less diverse environment XD
Everything is so true. Also. The current format might be a Tier zero Tear mirrors but the cool thing about it is the deck it’s so stupidly broken that you have to expect it, meaning you can build anything that stops specifically Tear and there a lot of strategies to do so. On the other hand there are so many Tear variations that most of the time the only thing determining the outcome of a match is the player’s skill. That is one of the coolest things about Yugioh. It can be *so* skill intensive but also a chill beatdown vs stall set of games! Can’t wait for Konami to sanction Time wizard events more properly.
10:40 This is why I stick with Satellarknights, Stellarknight Triverr gets over a lot (not this one) but I can use it to keep recycling copies of itself and Satellarknight Alsahm and burn damage past. Edit: Huh yeah, Stellarknight Triverr gets over that Red eyes dark dragoon too since it does non-targeting non-destructive removal.
Here's my Yugioh story: I know nothing about Yugioh, but 2 years after I graduated my friends got really into it. I thought it was super lame and a little weird, but they would hang out at my cabin while I wasn't there at watch the anime. One day, lightning struck my house. It got my Xbox 360 (where their Yugioh DVD was), my modem, and my 72" TV. Out of all this loss, my friends only had one request, "get our Yugioh DVD out of your destroyed Xbox." The week before this, hanging out with one of them, we were opening his mail, and he asked to borrow my pocket knife to open a letter. He never gave it back. I thought I'd lost it, so I bought a really cheap one at a knife shop until I could find my old one again. Guess what I used to pry open the Xbox... I cut my thumb open really bad, bled all over the Xbox and disc, got some stitches. I did get them their Yugioh disc, but at the cost of a pretty thick scar and a lopsided thumb. Realized what had happened to my good knife months later, in the floorboard of a car, rusty and covered in old cola. This is my only Yugioh experience.
I love how he used all of his characters (more like cosplays) for the intro, really makes you think about all the good content he's made over the years
As a Magic: the Gathering player, it is hilarious to see just how different Yugioh is. They literally print card draw in Magic up the wazoo, but cards like Pot of Greed are broken because they are free to play. Magic having a resourse system that requires you to pay mana for your cards balances the cards significantly.
Is he being ironic? He has to be self aware. He’s wearing a Yami Yugi costume rambling about “the good old days” and making skits about not very good cards trying to make them seem so OP that they’re broken, then complaining about subjective art design because apparently “new = bad” like he’s a Pokémon fan. Is he being ironic or is he just the absolute worst Yugiboomer in existence? I need to know if he’s self aware. I want to say he is.
yubel was made from the rocket but the reasoning for teaching aliens was western only yubel kind of already existed but was twisted by space energy "light"
The irony is, that due to the old cards, Konami was forced to make these longer texts to create newer versions of those cards but with limitations. The reason why they can't use simpler text, cause simpler text is broken thus forcing them to add more text to include restrictions. Once per turn has five different forms, a simple 'once per turn' without the card's name included makes other copies of that card to do the effect again and its easy for some decks to create scenarios where such happens. Its an issue thats hard to fix if you want a format that allows all cards, so yeah... Only way to fix things is to create a format thats focused on certain eras or something.
The biggest issue with Yugioh is that new players can struggle if coming from other games. But new players that didn’t come from another game can actually pick up the game very easily. My group travels to a lot of regionals and a football friend of mine placed 10th in a 400 person tournament after playing for one 3 months. The games not hard it’s just hard if you play a much easier game like Magic or Digimon
That opening reminds me of childhood days with the local translated version of the anime's OP song. RIP Kazuki Takahashi, your legacy will always live on
Magic player who has some OG Yugioh cards here. After looking back from Magic, Yugioh seems like the kind of game where cards aren't designed with any kind of balance in mind, they just make effects that they think are cool.
its actually a strange coincidence that this video came out today, because today is the day i decided to sold my entire collection. all my favorite architypes are dogshit unplayable so i decided that its time to move on with life.
i've been running through every solo mission on duel masters recently, been super fun building a new format deck and finding a new favorite archetype (shiramui's) while simultaneously collecting in game copies of my favorite cards i had when i was younger
I dont know much of Yu-Gi-Oh but I've got a coworker who is obsessed and likes to go to tourneys to solely use decks that prevent the other person from playing, he may not always win but the other person didn't have fun

Just wanted to point out cuz I spend too much time analyzing yugioh, the Jinzo at 5:23 was actually a rare transition print from 2010, they were only printed that way in North America for 1 year and then the printing process changed again taking that holofoil effect away from them. They’re pulled from the 2010 god card binder (and apparently the early box sets, not the later ones) It’s arguable that it’s just as rare/scarce as 1st Ed and EN printings of classic cards
Yeah man i started my YT channel to help people try and get back into the game cause its more compalicated than it should be konami could simply the game state where it no at least so much word play in the text of the cards that would go along way and give us a data base of rulings like the ocg that would fix most of the issue itself. That and their nothing fun in my home town so my other goal is to one day group enough to open my own store so it would great place for people to come hangout and play card games, video games, acrade games and etc. Great video as always 🔥
I still don't know how we could play yugioh in our grade school days when I think about it, the rules are simple but there are dozens to hundreds of cards we are memorizing from the name, to level, to atk and def and especially their each and own different effects...
The way I like to put it is, Magic’s card-to-card interaction is significantly more complex than yugioh, but YGO’s individual cards are a lot more complicated than Magic’s.
One of my best buds is super into Yugioh. I had switched to Magic since junior high. Last year our friend group decided to get back into yugioh. We took one look at the new format and mechanics, said what the actual fuck is that and decided we would only play UP TO XYZ (since that was the new mechanic when we stopped playing). Since then we all got together, ordered cards, did some trades so we can build semi-competent decks and are having fun. New Yugioh scares me.
Still devastating that the dude who started it all passed away saving a kid, he left the world as a hero o7

True
At the very least he should've beat marik. Joey was ROBBED

Why is there so much bots all the time
My sister and I used to play eachother with the Yugi and Kaiba starter decks as kids. I think I stopped playing shortly after Fusion cards were introduced. This is my first time seeing the more modern cards. I had no idea the game had changed so much. The amount of text on these newer cards is insane!
Nirvana high paladin
Have you seen Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic yet? It has I think 181 words.
That deck that Charlie stalled will get its own superior 'Lava Golem' soon, so he better watch out.
Oh wow! I remember doing something similar with one of my friends with Lava Golem too lol Also Adagio pfp!
I'm a competitive Yugioh player and Lava Golem is still used to this day lol. Its a very good card.

The creator of Yu-Gi-Oh, Kazuki Takahashi, died while saving a child from a rip current. I only have respect for this man.

lol the game is extremely complicated for newcomers. i remember when it first got popular in my highschool i would sit with my friends and watch them play and like 90% of the time i would just be sitting there like “wtf is happening right now”

I always feel a little anxiety during that sequence but its always exciting not knowing what im getting myself into
Gotta love watching Charlie enjoy an Act Man video.
I rember dueling with a friend back in 7th grade. We had decks that were this huge pile of way more than 40 cards and we kept messing up the actual effects of the cards and pulling random saves out of our asses. Damned duels lasted for an hour if need be. Feels amazing to remember that.

Agree
Or they could, like, release those cards in an actual set or simply make them actually readily available so you don’t have to be forced into special buying conditions at specific locations to get them. Or they could, you know, not censor them in the first place if they’re going to release them later.
Like not all of us go to card shops, and not all of us want to spend $30 or however much it is you have to spend at a card shop just to get a card we should’ve gotten years before when the card was initially released. It’s a huge hassle and price gouge for no reason.

Tfw most fans think sdk-001 is the holy grail but are shocked when you introduce them to the Holy DDS-001
Seto Kaiba sending card games to space was my favorite part.
The season 0 manga was incredible. Checked them out from my local library when I was a wee lad.
I played the CCG for ten beautiful years of bliss and rage. Sitting and making a deck was soooooo relaxing! I miss those days. 😢
I'm so glad these game types are being accepted. Yu-Gi-Oh today is just not beginner friendly at all.
@@zacharykolbe161 all games are not beginner friendly, same with magic or pokemon, your knowledge of a game is all dependent on your willingness to learn a game, the time you put into it, and the support you have from other players.

Why play for fun when you can complain about the modern state of the game instead.

They still make new episodes. A new one just came out recently. They’re on the final arc of the series, the Egypt arc.
Here's my Yugioh story:
I know nothing about Yugioh, but 2 years after I graduated my friends got really into it. I thought it was super lame and a little weird, but they would hang out at my cabin while I wasn't there at watch the anime.
One day, lightning struck my house. It got my Xbox 360 (where their Yugioh DVD was), my modem, and my 72" TV. Out of all this loss, my friends only had one request, "get our Yugioh DVD out of your destroyed Xbox."
The week before this, hanging out with one of them, we were opening his mail, and he asked to borrow my pocket knife to open a letter.
Act Man has always made banger content. Amazing video and that Intro is Goated
Also, the equivelent of Red Eyes Dark Dragoon in Magic is a card called True-Name Nemesis. Literally a meta-defining card.
They should make an AI generator for fake cards and names, it would be hilarious.

Just wanted to point out cuz I spend too much time analyzing yugioh, the Jinzo at 5:23 was actually a rare transition print from 2010, they were only printed that way in North America for 1 year and then the printing process changed again taking that holofoil effect away from them. My grandma threw away all my Yu-Gi-Oh cards because she thought they were related to satan. We still don’t talk.
I still don't know how we could play yugioh in our grade school days when I think about it, the rules are simple but there are dozens to hundreds of cards we are memorizing from the name, to level, to atk and def and especially their each and own different effects...

Killer Bean: *Am I a joke to you?*
Seeing Dark Dragoon brings back Vietnam flashbacks to when I started learning Yu-Gi-Oh 3 years ago. My dinosaurs had no chance against it.
