That bathroom would have came much later that's why it wasn't in the house proper. Had to have been an outhouse somewhere out side. Same with sink on the porch .kitchens weren't in the homes early on got the homes to hot and were a bad fire hazard.
Looks like someone was putting out stuff to have an estate sale or trying to pack to move? Several antiques left behind. What a waste. Someone might have died in that bed causeing the smell.
What is the room stunk so much is because I think there was poop on the bed in there might’ve been some thing in the drawers are in that closet or under the bed like you said

I think those little house looking thing might have been built over a well head. The well might be covered up now, but a pump may have been in there.
The blue item on the settee is a stopper for a bottle.
No doubt many with their mind in the gutter would use it as a stopper for something else
