Seeing the baby equipment makes me sad. Adults can leave most of their things behind but they don’t leave the baby’s things. I have to wonder if something happened to the baby and they couldn’t stand to stay there. Maybe something happened to the whole family. Most people don’t leave a house like that.
Ty for the tour🙌! It would be really nice to know why they just abandon the house like that & left everything! Isn't it strange why the power is still on! That one room upstairs was definitely a ballet room!
There are many reasons for abandoned houses. Multiple deaths, no will, or otherwise held up in probate court. If someone did inherit, maybe they cannot afford the real estate taxes. Family estrangement. No heirs, and hasn't gone for publuc auction. Who can afford a house these days. A DC news radio just reported today that the average age of first time home buyer has gone way up bc nobody can afford. Maybe inheriting relatives live far away and are too busy working/ other to do anything with it.
@ Nancy actually many homes when abandonned can have power for months sometimes even years after until the provider eventually cuts it but can take along while as many providers will allow bills ect to build before actually disconnected the power. If you watch any other channels and many others will teach you this and sometimes Water is left too. After so long it will be deemed noone is there in the providers eyes and then no more power And sometimes it's homes die to be demolished none ownes it just left bit because there being demolished the state sees no fit reason to actually stop the power to the property as they've hem selves sometimes want to rescue fixtures from the homes to sell on.
With all of those boxes, it looks like they were packing up but didn't finish for whatever reason. Lots of baby stuff left behind. Those pics on the wall looked like the same couple. An older man with a younger looking woman. Strange that they left behind what they did. I would totally live there if I redid that kitchen. Cool find, Ethan.
Beautiful home. I really hope it doesn't get torn down. It has obviously had others explore as all the papers and other stuff just thrown on the floor. Thanks Ethan for the video. Blessings and stay healthy! ❤❤

More than likely it's a foreclosure. Most people who lose their homes to the bank, only take what they want and leave the stuff they don't want for someone else to remove. Some will trash it badly out of anger.

A good way to date when a house was built is to look at the toilet tank lids. If the toilet hasn't been replaced, usually there is a date of manufacture stamped on the underside of the toilet tank lid.
Hey Ethan..nice house ,looks like they left in a hurry ...looks a cold house ,not very welcoming ..some nice features tho ..thanks Ethan stay safe well and happy 💋
My interest in this video is seeing what was original from the 1940s. The kitchen and baths have been remodeled. Some of the windows are original. The fireplaces look original also. As well as the stair railing which was pretty cool. I didn’t care about all the stuff left in the house from the latest owners. Some of the furniture looked like it was from the era. I hope someone moves in and preserves the house.
Beautiful home. Nothing makes an abandoned house feel a little off (spooky?) than boarding up the windows and doors. It does seems the best way to protect a house, however. I don’t know if this house belonged to an elderly person who passed away (the bed frame in the living room is common when a person can no longer get up the stairs) or to a married couple who divorced or there was some other family loss. Either way it appears that some items were removed, like the bathroom mirror, fridge and stove. It seems like someone has tried to sort through belongings but they aren’t sure how to do it or less scrupulous people than yourself are coming in looking for objects of value. The dining room and kitchen don’t match. A large dining room like this where you can host dinner parties for family and friends needs a slightly different kitchen. The current kitchen has been redone recently with inexpensive cabinets, it also lacks counter space, so it would be difficult to prepare meals. The pantry wasn’t always one, it’s too deep and could have been fitted with more shelves and storage if planned better. The stainless steel counter unit looks like it was from a diner or restaurant and lacks the cupboard doors it probably should have once had.
We all know what they're gonna end up doing to it. 💔It has such a pretty staircase (love how it curves on the upper part when you were showing the chandelier), and i liked that marble powder room and details like the wainscotting and fireplaces, and dining room. The kitchen would drive me crazy (i hate how it's laid out) and i'm not a fan of the dark blue or grey paint in there, but i really like that soft yellow that's in there. Wonderful ride. In the downstairs, i liked the the blue trim around the doors plus the stairs and chandelier when you looked up. See you on the next one!

This looks like the person(s) who lived here may have passed away in an accident & either had no family to retrieve their belongings or they didn’t want to. Unfortunately, this happens a lot. It could’ve been foreclosed on as well. It’s a beautiful home. It’s unfortunate that homes like this end up rotting instead of being sold to someone who actually needs a home. A lot of banks will just let the home sit & rot. There could also be squatters that have been living there as well. I really think this was probably a foreclosure. It’s really sad. I hope this family is safe & happy elsewhere.
I’m guessing a divorce because they didn’t take the big picture of them together with them. That house didn’t seem HAPPY. Felt scary like something happened bad in it.. 😮😮 watching, from California 😊

Another darling house! I agree that when you see the former occupants leaving so many articles and only taking essentials, something big and not wonderful likely happened in the family. Someone didn't have the time, emotional strength or physical wherewithal to button up their lives there. Death or desertion by main financial support? Devastating loss of a member of the family? Somebody couldn't cope. I find myself wishing I could go in there and sort the house out for whoever didn't have the strength to do it.
You can probably find out more if you go through the public tax records. If you have the address, there will be a legal description which will give you plot numbers for the taxes. It's all public record. You can find it all free online by going to the state/county assessors website.
Don't know if the people were renting, But if they were and were behind they only give you 30 days, Sometimes less. I had this happen, I had a jerk for a landlord and I wasn't behind her claimed I was, Told me I had days to get me and my stuff out and I had 2 young kids. The last day all I had was my couch and a chair and a few other things, Don't remember what it was. But he showed up and was mad cuz I wasn't out and I said I'm waiting for my friend to come back with his truck, He was dropping off a load for me. He got mad and called the sherriffs and "2" of them came out and told me I had to get out. I still had several hrs, But it didn't matter they made me leave without the rest of my stuff. I even showed them the papers. Didn't make a difference
That’s really sad these crooked landlords with a heart of ice will do whatever they want he probably wanted you out because he lost the home he was in that’s not right 😡
a MLB player lived behind me in the 90’s. He and his wife left behind very similar type possessions because they weren’t worth the trouble. Including tons of baby items. It just all eventually got donated and the house sold. Nothing seems sad about the sitch in video , they just left. Probably an absent landlord. The lighting is cheap (and def NOT 1970’ more like 90’s), the appliances are cheap… what large house has stackable w&d? The bank likely was forced to foreclose and didn’t spend funds to do anything w property. Literally nothing mysterious in video well as far as I got before I was too bored.
Ethan even the home though the home was built in the 1940s it had a lot of charm even though it had personal belongings left behind the rooms were huge but the main entrance was nice with the staircase leading to the second floor but a great video from you always take care
It always breaks my heart to see these lovely homes just rotting… 💔💔💔
Wow. Would like to know the story behind this one! So many questions. Hope the kids and cats are OK.
The drawing of the house Monticello is the home of Thomas Jefferson. He started building it in 1768.
It looks like someone may have taken a drafting class.
There’s a sad story behind this houses abandonment. It looks like the people left on a big hurry.
Could be financial troubles, people tend to leave in a hurry, no to to grab anything

Handicap bars too
I always wonder what causes ppl to leave all their personal items behind, esp personal pictures
Ethan even the home though the home was built in the 1940s it had a lot of charm even though it had personal belongings left behind the rooms were huge but the main entrance was nice with the staircase leading to the second floor but a great video from you always take care
Dance room with bar by mirrors for ballet
“Guys did you see that” Yes, we saw your friend try to get out of view by going in the bathroom after messing with the lights.
