@@LeslieLoveI sure did ! You brought such a positive energy to it. And that lady was so nice to let you go there and record. What an amazing experience ! 😊
@@michellebaker1974 awww thanks again :) yes she was amazing. This was my second time going. The first time I went to tour the other plantation that’s also on property and the owner let me see this house just from the outside since back then they didn’t allow tours. I made a video back then too if you want to see it :)
Wow! I just came back from this plantation today. Same stuff is there! Attic is still locked too. That same lady gave me a tour. It was only me there and was surprised that they let us touch anything! I was even able to walk across the field into the slave quarters in the dark and found old alcohol bottles and some original furniture. So cool!
Oh wow! And in the dark? I bet that was fun. Yeah I really like going there and every time I leave I realized I forget to get something. But yeah I love that house
This is one of my fave movies and I just happened to watch it last weekend because it's in the UA-cam movie tab free with no ads. I went to New Orleans in 1993 before the movie and I'll definitely go back one day and try to see the house. Thank you so much for this great video...👍!
I took this tour a couple years ago but they didn't let us take pictures or film. I also wondered about the stairs not being there when you walk in and my tour guide (a guy) said that most of the interiors of the movie The Skeleton Key were not actually filmed inside Felicity, but at the plantation house next to it, and mostly just the exteriors were filmed at Felicity.
Or really no pictures or video? They didn’t care at all both times. I did the tour for the other plantation last time which I have a video of it if you want to see it and it definitely didn’t film there. They didn’t use St. Joseph for Skeleton Key at all. I personally think the interiors for the most part was in a studio in Los Angeles. I remember the last time I was there the owner telling me that Kate Hudson was pregnant and at some point that had to finish filming back in Los Angeles.
@@LeslieLove ya crazy. I snuck some pictures anyway. It's a beautiful house. I wish I could have gone in St. Joseph too but it was closed up. Anyway, I love your videos. I've been watching them for a couple years now. Keep up the great work!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, your camerawork is impeccable, very steady indeed, the information was excellent and the addition of the film footage was a nice touch. I’ve not seen Skeleton Keys for a fair few years but I do recall the house, it’s so beautiful and your host was very gracious too, thanks for taking the time to put this together, take care 👍😃👍
You have no idea how much this comment means to me. My gosh when I first started I was horrible(not that there isn’t room for improvement) I would get comments telling me how shaky my videos were and when I see my Dirty Dancing video I was get so mad how bad I was. I really want to remake that video. Anyway I have feel I have improved a lot so your comment means a lot! I’m really glad you liked it and thank you for taking the time to write. Take care! :)
Thanks for showing us this. I absolutely love this movie and always wondered if the house was real or made up. How cool that they opened it for tours. I have to go see this!
You’re very welcome :) I wish they had also shot inside…very little of the inside was used but it was still amazing to see the house since it was used so much for exterior shots :)
Well thank you so much! I tried my best even though things were not matching up inside. And yes you should definitely watch it, I think you will love it!

What a terrific location video of such an awesome movie. Not enough people mention this film IMO. I just don't see that many reaction videos to it and I sub to many.
Yes I pointed that out in the beginning of the video. I just love The Skeleton Key and wanted to see this house inside as well. At first when I went they didn’t provide tours to this house only the other one they owned which I made a video as well
Thank you so much :) and I just google filming locations by writing the title of the movie or tv show follow by filming locations :) sometimes I have to dig deeper but most are just a quick search away.

They also used the facade for the movie Oracle! Might’ve been what the tour guide was talking about.

So the plantation is no longer privately owned?
It is, but they provide tours.

lol nice :) I see what you did there
Forget the gate where have the trees gone
There was a hurricane that destroyed a lot.
Imagine going on a tour and the person that’s leading the tour doesn’t know anything about what they are showing you….
Well I was more interested in the movie stuff…the tour is more about the history of the plantation
Is this the same house that was used in the movie The Reaping starring Ms. Hillary Swank?
No it’s not :)
I liked your video, I just wish you would’ve let her talk more and you kind of talked over her while she was talking just saying
Actually she talked a lot, I just didn’t include it in this video because it was a long tour. I only added when I was asking her about the movie.
