Abandoned time capsule home

- We've been very lucky lately with finding some really nice abandoned places to explore and this location was no exception. This home was like a open book with amount of items left behind providing a look into the life of the previous occupants. I was blown away with the amount of items left in the home and most of them were antiques that could furnish anyone's grandparents home. I think on this explore I will not guess on the history or to fill in the blanks on the location but let the footage speak for itself. I'm not going to mention what all we saw in the home and let it be a surprise for you the viewer to enjoy.
We also encountered a neighbor who thought we were family of the previous owner coming to check on the property. The neighbor was kind enough to provide us with the back story on the property and the reason why it has been left in it's abandoned state. This is information we don't always get and provides a look into the back story of why homes become abandoned with all the property left behind. The neighbor was also very nice lady who allowed me to finish off the explore in the last area of the house. Hopefully the family will return someday to collect some of the items left in this home as it would be a shame to see them decay away.
As usual I've blurred photos to protect identity, names etc. I also didn't show the neighbor on film to protect her identity but still recorded her explaining the history of the home as she did it far better then I could and no identifying information as far as location's, name's etc. where recorded. Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did!
Special thanks to the 'neighbor" for the back to story on the location. Appreciated the chat.
What a place to explore!! Love these old house's with memories!
Yes, this was a really nice location to explore. Lots of history in one location.
Wow. What a lot of good stuff (furniture, etc.) got left behind. And what a lot of stuff, period, from the 1930s, even! The neighbor had some interesting back story, too. What a fascinating explore that was!
Yes, I'm surprised the family didn't try to claim/save some of the contents. Kind of a shame. Yes she was very nice and it was a bonus getting the history from her on the location! Glad you enjoyed watching, appreciate it!

"Abandoned time capsule home"
A lotta UA-cam explorers title their explores the same, your's is accurate.
First explore I've seen where a visitor comes to call and tells a lot about the occupant. Trucking literature in the kitchen, pallets and American coins on the stove, he may have been a long haul trucker.
If and when the property is sold for development, the demo guys will get most or all of the valuable stuff, it's a good thing I don't know where it's at and I'm in Baltimore.
An old house, old contents and a visitor made for an excellent explore, might be your best one and is worth sharing.
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠 🇺🇸
PS, Hi Ms. Neighbor! 👍😉
Glad you liked the explore! I've found as long as your polite, explain what you do (urban explorer), when you encounter someone you'll have no issues. Very possible, he could have been a trucker, a lot of the personal items did seem to indicate that. Yes it's a shame that the property contents are being left to the elements, hopefully the family will return to salvage some of them. Thanks again for watching!
Love those old houses where do you explore at
Glad you enjoyed. The Province of Ontario, Canada
That's some amount of stuff left there surprised it hasn't been taken such a shame it's all left there it's been ransacked pretty good love old houses neighbor was nice to you too .
We were surprised as well with the amount left behind. It's amazing how none of the personal affects were recovered by the family. The longer this location is left, I imagine the more will disappear, thanks for watching!
Good old Kingston 😊
Almost, shhhh! 🤫
That was so interesting! I wonder if the kitchen part was the original house and the rest of the house was added on later? It looked like the ceiling might have been tin? Was the floor in the kitchen the old linoleum? I couldn't believe when the neighbour said there was no running water and no indoor bathroom, hence the chamber pot. Interesting to see the old wood stove in the kitchen and the stove pipes upstairs. Also the rotary telephone demonstration was very interesting. What a time capsule. Great video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed watching! I'm not too sure about the construction of the home, it very well could have been upgraded a bit over the years. If I remember correctly (it's been awhile since) the floor was mostly wood in this one. Ya it's crazy that he lived like that, and only about 20 years ago. Hard scrabble life. I almost thought the phone call was going to go through! Thanks again!
Thanks for the tour! I wonder what happened 😢
Your welcome! The owners became elderly and passed away unfortunately. The family doesn't seem interested in recovering any of the property, sadly.
I really wanted to see the house and all the architecture not all the junk.
I'm not really an 'abandoned architecture' focused channel, I'd recommend the Proper People for that. They do a very nice job. And one man's junk is another man's treasure.
I noticed with the old rotary phone that I think she dialed 1+area code+the 7 digit phone number. While I didn’t hear the sounds that came out of the receiver, it is possible that that line allowed local calls only and was blocked from making long distance calls. Just my guess.
Oh you could be right. Being an older phone it may not be compatible with the newer networks. I guess we should have tried the operator, we will have to remember that if we ever encounter another possible working phone.
The necklace of "nuts" are Buckeyes. The Buckeye tree grows in Ohio in the US.
Oh I didn't know that, good eye. I've meant to look that up, another viewer noted the same thing. Thanks for the info!
That necklace is made out of buckeyes.
Oh, I'll have to go back and check that out. Thanks for the information, appreciate it!
She made sure you left. 😅
I don't blame her, we were complete strangers. And there are a lot of people who vandalize and steal.
In the future can you guys please wear gloves.god knows what you can pick up with all that dirt,, and you cut your hand.hope you cleaned well.
I've thought about wearing them, but I usually just disinfect afterwards. I hopefully got some immunity from playing in abandoned farms/buildings when I was a kid :)
You didn't like that old stove was it just a repop or what
I liked the old stove. I've seen lots of them. A very common item in old farm houses. I have friends and family that have them in their homes. I was more surprised this one wasn't stolen.
You shouldn't be touching anything with that cut.You should have something over it
Thanks for the concern. I was careful not to contact anything with my cut.
In the USA get an address and go to the tax office check all the taxes you might could buy for the taxes owed on the property I don't know about Canada
You're not wrong, although here in Canada usually the township the home is located in handles that kind of information.
