- "Under Siege: The Making of Tales From The Crypt Presents Demon Knight" is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film "Tales From The Crypt Presents Demon Knight". Excuse the watermark in the middle of the video.
i loved it when billy acknowledges robin williams acting as genie as his inspiration to play the demon knight.
Billy Zane plays the Collector. The Demon Knight (AKA Brayker) is the hero of the story.
This is my favorite Billy Zane movie. He brings so much of his witty humor to the movie. The whole cast is excellent. I've always been nuts for Billy since Dead Calm. He managed to even bring humor to that role.
probably the last good Billy Zane movie
He was also great as the superhero The Phantom
Was a stand out as top dollar in the crow
He killed this movie
That part where first gets pissed and takes off the cowboy gear....."how ya do podunk hillbilly cowboy mother fucker" I remember seeing this in the dollar theatre and was ROLLING
Such a classic underrated movie. I just watched it again today. It still holds up & the demons looked great
As technology improves a lot of older CGI movies will look bad in comparison. Movies that used great makeup and suits will always look good.
Wow.. first movie ever to be a classic and underrated at the same time lol.
They need to bring the story back and add to it i watched it as a little kid i was probably 8 or 9 when i watched a vcr recording of it i was born 5 years after release
“Fucking ho-dunk po-dunk well them there motherfuckers!” 😂😂😂
Iconic!!
He says all that in a southern accent, but prior, states "Fuck this cowboy shit!", which is contradictive and makes it funnier 😂😂😂
RIP Dick Miller. Glad they got his interview for this before he passed on. Was really a special kind of actor that you always took notice of. I'll always have a soft spot for this movie and the mythology. Needs to be redone, but not as a crypt movie or series.
Pioneered the same attitude the great actors brought in the flic. A GREAT PRO
Most terrifying sfx/makeup Id ever seen. This is exactly what Id imagine demons be like.
I woulda thought they'd look like a bald-headed Jada Pinket but okay
Every time I hear "Hey man, nice shot" I think of the opening scene of this movie. Aaaannd Cemetary Gates reminds me of the nipple electrode scene...
That song during the opening was so cool to hear in the theater👍 Def made me a fan
same man
I agree man!!
Same here
It was like a tune-up and a lube-job..
25th anniversary - January 13th. Happy 25th, Demon Knight!
This story line is so original. Definitely needs a sequel.
Can I just say, THIS FILM KICKED SO MUCH DAMN ASS! It’s such a fun movie and Billy Zane’s performance is absurdly awesome
We need a sequel for this.
I'm on it
@@ktriplett3209 there are problems with the rights of tales from the crypt, both hbo and tnt have tried to bring it back with no success
Tales from the crypt did do 2 more spin off movies after this, bordello of blood & ritual.
Neither of which are relative to demon knight though.
I personally think it's perfect as it is, any sequels would pale in comparison.
What they really need to do is do the other 2 movies that were originally planned for the trilogy cause Bordello of Blood and Ritual shouldnt count
Yeah they do. It was a good story that set us up for a sequel
Everyone has their own tastes. I happen to LOVE this movie.... I also think that everyone played their parts so well. I would love to see a sequel
Some look down on it. Believe it creates atmosphere, good characters, decent environment(motel...desert) the best of the Crypt movies. Still watch it
Bordell of blood was good as well
Billy Zane appears to be a totally cool, down-to-earth guy.
I can't believe they didn't mention the soundtrack. One of the best soundtracks of the 90's!
It didn't really stand out to me.
@@wadewilson8011 Not a fan of Pantera, Megadeth, Filter, Sepultura, Melvins or the Gravediggaz?
@@lilitharam44 NOPE not really, only a very few of their songs are ok.
I prefer AC/DC, Audioslave/Soundgarden, G&R, Metallica, Ozzy and Black Sabbath, RHCP, STP, Alice in Chains.
@@wadewilson8011 Each to their own, Peace.

Great making of documentary. Also I love how Billy Zane doesn't age, at all!
25 years old and still so much fun to watch
Billy Zane is having a ball here
This was the best Tales of the Crypt story of all. This is one of my favorite horror movie period.
I have a fond memory of my father taking me to see this as a kid... I was probably too young to see it but nonetheless we both had a blast with this flick. RIP dad, gone but not forgotten.
This is one of my all time favorite horror films.I never get tired watching this film. Billy Zane was great as the charismatic "Collector". He brought "devilish" charm to his role. This is the kind of film that demands multiple rewatches. Avoid Bordello of Blood at all costs.
Demon Knight is an all time favorite and for good reason....I mean, what's not to like? An underdog up against impossible odds, always on the run...A champion of God fighting for the Universe, against the very destruction of God's creation itself!! Sadler brilliantly cast as the battleweary Brayker! And the bad guy...Fantastically played by Zane having the time of his life bringing comedy and edge of your seat tension, knowing as an audience that this friendly smiling stranger is more dangerous than people realise...Just the look of Brayker, tired of all those years of running, you can see it in his face and the Collector, handsome and fresh, the complete opposite.......Look it's fucking awesome, the storyline, the effects, hardheaded Roach frustrating the audience, Brayker, the Collector and ALL the actors...It's a gem, guys, and that's the truth!
☝️
you watched it for the tits.
And tons of 58008... 🤣
What's not to love?
One of my favorite horror movies ever. Saw it as a teenager and loved it ever since.
I love the amount of love and respect everyone who worked on it had for the material, truly one of my fave horror movies of all time!!!...
Billy Zane should have won an Oscar.
RIP Dick Miller.
Legend for this film and Gremlins.
And....
Gremlins 2
The Howling
Trucker Turner
The Terminator
The Burbs
Small Soldiers
Project X
Night of the Creeps
Tales From the Darkside
V
I grew up watching him in all of those and TV shows.
Billy Zane would make an awesome Yul Brynner. If a biopic about him were to be made, Billy would be the man.
Never knew this existed, thanks for the upload. Ive always liked this movie.
I’d actually love to see a prequel. Give us more details on Brayker’s adventures up to this point. Billy Zane (The Collector) had obviously been tracking him down for a while. I think it could be a great film.
That would be awesome see the previous adventures
Well, as we see at the end, there are other 'Collectors' that take over when one is destroyed, so it wouldn't have to be Zane, if perhaps Brayker had destroyed a previous Collector before him. But yeah. Just considering the great, gritty, schlocky tone of this kind of picture, I'd like to see it set in the '70s. Maybe '70s NYC (Brayker took over during WWI)
Demon Knight was not only a good movie but it had a cool bad ass soundtrack so 90s
This movie is how i discovered “hey man nice shot” song
Billy zane should be Lex luthor!!! Hes perfect!! Altho in this interview he reminds me of The Kingpin
I second that motion;
Billy Zane should be Lex Luthor.
Pass it on to DC
Actors who play villains or monsters always come across as being the nicest people ever off-sreen, see also Angus Scrimm, Robert Z'Dar and Robert Englund and Michael Berryman. Also the fact Billy didn't deny he was losing his hair and just totally rocks that look like the king he is, and also...yeah I can see the Genie influence in Collector, as well as Betelgeuse.
Demon knight is a classic because of all the moving parts. Bordello didn’t understand why demon knight worked and just kinda made a different meal from the same ingredients.
Demon Knight is awesome! imagine if it had a true hollywood budget. I always find myself coming back to Demon Knight as the years pass lol
I watched this last night for Halloween. First time I have seen it in 20 years I bet lol.
I just watched it for the first time in what must be almost 25 years the other night. I remember it repeating a lot on movies channels back in the mid 90s, but I'd forgotten it ever existed until the other day. Very enjoyable film.
I always thought Billy Zane looked like Marlon Brando and then he went and played Brando in a film.
Thank you for this documentary! I love watching this movie on Halloween
I love this movie, I have since I saw it in the theater and I own it on VHS and DVD, and I'll keep buying it as new media comes along.
Jill....I saw it in the theater when it was released. Was a freshman or sophomore in H.S back then. Owned it on VHS, DVD, will pick it up finally on Bluray because in my eyes it has earned a Bluray spot in my collection. Has been an underrated film for years/from the start maybe. I know horror fans who talk so large of crappy independent horror films yet scoff at this movie. Regarding the independent films/just because a first time maker does a horror film that can be done by a college grad doesn't make it a GREAT FILM. Time after time have had this talk...just because it is horror & unknown DOES NOT mean it is worthy. Substance is a great word when it comes to horror. Found alot of substance in Demon Knight & other films. Always happy to share a comment w/fellow fans.😎
You should listen to your friend, Billy Zane. He’s a cool guy.
Zoolander lol
*"Oh my goodness.. OH MY GOD!"... Legendary, me and my brother use so many lines from this perfect movie.*
My all time favourite movie, I still watch it today, been watching it since I was 7 lol.
Best supporting cast with amazing acting from everyone. My favourites have to be William Zadler, Billy Zane, Jada Smith and the woman who played Irene (love her).
As the audience you feel something for each character because it was written so well. It has everything you want in a movie like this, it has horror, comedy, a bit of Romance and a religious back story.
It's so underrated and good that I wish they had carried it on as the trilogy it was suppose to be.
I love Demon Knight. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes due to being zany, bizzare, wicked, funny, and goofy. William Sadler and Billy Zane did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Brayker and The Collector as they both put tons of emotion and depth into their roles. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍👍💯😎
Even though Billy Zane was the devil I loved his character I really hope they make Knight of the Demons 2 love this movie.
He was a high ranked demon called the collector. He wasn't the devil
They’ll never make a demon knight 2 unless the make a remake which I hope never happens because you know remakes are never good
@@ETAontheway There are some exceptions, like 1990 Night of The Living Dead and 2006 The Hills Have Eyes.
@@TylerHingleton those aren’t connected to each other brotha
@@ETAontheway I'm just saying that there are remakes, which did just as well or better than the originals imo. Those two films I mentioned are remakes and like better than the original films
i always thought there was a connection between from "Dusk till Dawn" & Demon Knight, this interview sheds light on that topic 2:35
One of my favorite freaking movies! Love you all! :)
Demon knight was fun, campy in a good way, funny and has great characters (Billy Zane rocks in this!). And it feels like Tales from the Crypt. That's why it lives on!😊😊😊
Thanks for the upload! Watched this movie so many times as a kid in the 90s. Billy Zane was awesome and the demons were scary as hell
Demon knight is a classic. Bordello sucked. That's why this movie lived on.
Nessa W and it's funny because even the bordello of blood crew said it sucked also.
Nessa W I agree
Bordello completely screwed up the story.
I just saw the Video., but I have seen Demon Knight. I thought although it was under the Umbrella of TAles from the Crypt- It was a Great MOvie. I thought it was interesting what the Creators said about it being a Hero Movie and not rally a Monster Movie. I thought it was a Spiritual Movie as well. I liked it a lot and will try to watch it again. I thought there should have been a Demon Knight 2 which followed what happened with the Jada Pinkett Character. If I remember the Movie, she was basically a Criminal- a low life who God Choose to do good which is a nice Spiritual Message about Redemption.
i like the tv show the most. the tales from the crypt and vault of horror movies from the 70s were pretty good too.
My fave movie for the last 22yrs. Always will be. Even named my dog Brayker 😏
fAnGeDkOrNfAn
That's awesome. I wanted the key to display in my house
Has ALWAYS been an UNDERRATED FILM. A FANTASTIC FILM. ✌👍
Saw it the weekend it came out. Me and the guys, senior year high school. THe good ol' days. Great movie.
Thanks for uploading this! I've been dying to see it
I love Billy Zane this movie is why even though he was amazing in Titanic but he owned this role so underrated
Really loved this show and it's very cool to get a view of what the actors thought and having more on the inside of it was awesome. Tales from the Crypt, insanely good. Demon Knight might be my favorite of them all. The actors blew me away, it was in someways so believable and in others just insanely funny. LOVED it! Thank you for presenting this.
saw this tripping balls on acid at the galaxy theater in holly wood
Demon knight 2 please hurry up and make it all ready the 1st was a classic
Never gets old bomb ass movie classic
Demon Knight sequel? Yes, please. :)
I recommend this to people every chance I get. It's amazing how many people don't know about this. Such a classic
I agree 💯 ... The Bald look billy brought to the roll was fantastic
I'll never forget going to see this as a teen in Times Square back in the mid 90's with some friends right as Times Square was changing.Bought the soundtrack, now have the novelization,t shirt and movie poster.Wonderful cast, great director,AMAZING effects and to think the original idea was about salesmen going door to door taking souls,WTF!?!
Thanks for this. One of my absolute favorites... More in this universe would be great
I'm still watching it now over, and over.
Underrated Film. Great Cast.Crew.And DIrector.
Loved it. It was funny, scary, well written and very charming.
My favourite movie of all time. Watched it on repeat as a child!
I must have watched this 100 times since release, oh man. Just was a sneaky pirate and watched it again, ah man. The memories!
Thanks fellow Demon Knight fan! Liked and subbed!
Thanks for sharing this documentary such a fun movie.
I was in 7th grade and this came out and my mom dropped me a 4 friends off at the midnight premiere screening. House was packed and it was a ton of fun being 12. The entire theatre reacted as a whole wich hieghtend the experince. It was a great early experince highlighted by an awesome film. The demons flying around were truly evil and creepy, zane was hilarous and you could feel adlers pains. The aunt was a blast and jada had a perfect attitude. The entire cast was perfect and the movie is a personal favorite. I watch it more often then other favorites.
In the opening nude
scene my friend leo says aloud, damn her nipple is bigger than my head, and the entire 900 seat theater bust up laughing. Great knight
it's a shame they didn't talk about Gary Farmer
Great documentary. Only disappointment is there was no John Kassir involvement.
Thank you for posting this video
You're welcome!
@@chrisk5204 I was born in 90, and I saw this in or after 2000. I had no idea it went to theaters, or that it was this big. Wish they had made sequels.
There really should've been a pt.2 to this.
Love this movie so much.
thanks for the upload😎👍
I grew up watching it over and over
One of my favorite memories growing up was demon knight and tales from the crypt on fox 11 because we were poor in the projects and no one has fukn HBO
Bad ass movie really well done the first time i saw it didnt even know what is was going to be about at all my dad brought it home same thing with the mummy great flim as well
Billy Zane didn't age... He really is a demon! 😳
The best out there that hollywood ever produced of complete with the bad ass soundtrack
What an awesome doc! Thanks for sharing!
thank you for the upload
Love this movie since I was in high school. This evening I showed it to my 20 year old son who loves horror movies. He loved it! (Not bad for 1995, I said). He agreed! He said it was such a unique story. :D
I remember in 4th grade some kid gave me the soundtrack to this movie. Such a confusing gift since I never heard of the film before. 2 years later I did finally end up seeing it on VHS. Made me sad that I didn't have cool enough parents to see it in theaters.
Any idea when this documentary was made? Before or after the sequel?
SpookeyClown great soundtrack
Billy Zane totally made that movie great and Dick Miller a cheesy horror movie legend
what a cast. brilliant mix of (back then) up-and-comers and industry legends
Classic! One of my childhood classics. Great job!
I LOVED the short blonde hair.
THANK YOU!
I love TFTC
I love demon knight!
Ernest Dickerson is a gentleman
When I clicked on this i thought it was a documentary on the tf2 subclass
"Oh hey, Dick Miller!" said everyone watching every cult horror classic ever.
Must have seen this movie more or less around the time it first came out, but never since. Had forgotten it ever even existed. Flicking through the channels tonight and there it was, so I had to watch. Decent little horror film actually.
Demon Knight is one of my favorite movies
I could empathize with every character in it
My hat is off to Billy his performance was so over the top and amazing
But the whole cast was phenomenal
What a classy... Billy Zane is the most charming evil in the movie history... Greetings from Colombia south America..
0:01 I had my phone on full volume m like 8 inches from my face. Just a minor heart attack.
One of my fav movies watched it countless times.. Please make another as many people from original as possible. Could even have Breaker back as an angel knight.. Need Zane back as well.
30th anniversary - January 13th, 2025. Happy 30th anniversary, Demon Knight!
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight turns 30!
I remember watching it way back in 2014
This is the best Tales from the Crypt movie
Glad Nostalgia Critic loved it
Even though it was released in January and wasn’t a hit with critics I’m happy it made back double its budget at the box office by $21 million and gained a cult following later
a young and hip cast, amazing practical special effects, great gore, and the filmmakers manage to insert quite a few break-the-fourth-wall jokes
this story actually gave me a few frights
The mystery is decently set up in the beginning and the actors leave quite an impression
it's pretty much the premise lifted from 'Night of The Demons' but with a rather unique, slick twist of its own
It also juggles around with a few Biblical influences to heighten the plot
and really, is there anything more wacky and fun that watching Billy Zane having a ball? who knows?
He expertly plays this servant of Hell playing on these people’s desires while being so suave being over the top
‘Demon Knight’ is loads of fun and entertaining, has lots of imagination, great performances, witty lines, a sense of humor, and manages to hook you in
this is a nice film feature debut for 'Tales from The Crypt' fans and horror movie lovers
Dickerson is awesome, damn good movie.. he should have made all the Tales of the Crypt movies (Bordello of Blood..) and got a sequel to Demon Knight.. such a cool cast
Actually one of my fav films 📼
Great movie, great book, and beyond those, it's simply a really good story in regards to the key, the protector and the collector spanned over many lifetimes.
As a kid I watched Tales From The Crypt, then when Demon Knight came out it scared the crap outta me, I had my eyes closed almost through the whole movie.
