1st Halloween I saw in theaters, it was packed with people. The crowd went insane when I saw this movie, they clapped, cheered, they screamed, they laughed, it was a fun ride. Definitely a crowd pleaser horror film. I was about 13 years old and the movie actually scared me, Michael Myers was very intimating on the big screen. I felt the movie had good actors, great build up and suspense, the music score hit the mark. I love this movie, compared to the other Halloween films, I give it an 8/10.

I enjoy the movie, but it feels more like a Scream movie (which is just not the Halloween feeling) and I can’t stand the H20 version of Michael Myers. And I don’t think H20 gets a lot of hate, definitely not on the level of Resurrection or Halloween 5.

I actually love H20. It had it's flaws and a little to be desired with the plot. The mask situation is so frustrating to hear about. But overall it's a pretty good movie. If you look at Halloween, Halloween 2, and H20 as it's own trilogy it was a solid way to end it.

IMO Halloween 4 was superior to Halloween 2. Even John didn't like Halloween 2 and he wrote and directed it, begrudgingly so. I think too many people sleep on Halloween 4. And I think it's due to how it's story and lead characters were botched in Halloween 5 and 6. If you ignore what was done with Jamie and Michael in 5 and 6, Halloween 4 has the most interesting, refreshing and inspired continuation of the Myers story out of prior and later attempts to milk the franchise. And if the producers hadn't meddled and lost the balls to follow through with what happened at the end of Halloween 4 in Halloween 5, rather than just neutering the weight of it's conclusion and Dr. Loomis' mental breakdown, along with Jamie's arc - by making her an ineffectual mute in 5 and then a sacrificial rape victim that gets offed like a side character that never mattered in 6 - it would've been the most interesting, fresh thing done with the film series since the original. But, noooo, can't have anything new and interesting happening, gotta always revert back to the status quo with every "new" movie because monies.
@Barnaby Joe Wigglesabit My mistake, I guess I was confused by Jamie Lee Curtis saying that she found it odd being in a Halloween movie without John present when she came back to do H20. I liked the scene of Jamie Lee Curtis and her mother Janet Leigh. It was a fitting tribute and nice to see the Car Janet Leigh drove from Psycho in Halloween H2O as well as the subtle music from Psycho as she stood near the car.
So stoked to see the new one. Waited for over a year. Couldn’t wait! Sadly, very disappointed. LOVE H1 ( my fav horror), H2, and H20. HALLOWEEN 2018 had a wonderful intro, but seemed to run out of steam rather quickly. Needed: MORE scenes with Laurie, and LESS with secondary high school kids and a dance NO ONE cares about. Also, the two cops in the cruiser? A chance at humor that fails miserably, yet adds 6 more minutes of screen time. The third act twist was ridiculous and completely illogical. God, I hated it. Wouldn’t see it again for free.
Underrated? Um, it was a box office hit. Praised by critics. And a good majority of Halloween fans place it as the best sequel (not me, in full disclosure, I think it blows). Not exactly underrated. Halloween 5 is underrated. Hell, if anything I'd say it's overrated.
The fact this is one of Josh hartnetts first movies and he still managed to keep messing up his hair and clothes ignoring what the production people wanted him to look like was bold as fuck😂
The best part of H20 is when Laurie and Michael come face to face for the first time in 20 years. Interesting that Jamie didn't want to do anymore Halloween sequels and here we have her in the latest Halloween 2018 sequel. The Ottman score sounds like it belongs in Nightmare Before Christmas, not Halloween.
I think Jamie let didn't want to be typecast as the scream queen thus why she turned down Halloween 4 since she wanted to branch out into other roles which is understandable.
That's a hard sell. Best case it's 3rd, but probably 4th (excluding SOTW). Could have handled the chase throughout the school better (ending) and obviously the mask debacle is unforgivable. I do like it quite a bit, but the OG and 2018 are 100% superior. The original H2 is up for debate, too slow paced for quite a while but last act is tremendous. On another note, 2018 soundtrack is unparalleled. However, opinions vary. Different opinions and civilized debates make the world a better place. No offense intended.
I was 6 when this come out. I remember going to my Uncle’s house. He had this on. I watched this when I was 10, it was showing on FX Network. As a kid it just brings back alot of memories.
My favorite scene from H20 is when Laurie tells Michael after crashing him out of the window of the van to come on, and he rolls over to his back, then she says get up, and he sits up almost like in the original. Love that part.
I am TRULY a Halloween Fanatic! I have every single Movie (vhs), DVD, Figurine, Masks and other collectables. I watch Halloween every single night before bed. My daughter Jaymie was named after Jamie Lee Curtis... The significance behind the story is amazing.
@@jessegotti lol lol EVERY NIGHT lol... I love to watch it while I do artwork! I'm a UA-camr but I also do voice impersonations so maybe after October I'll put Mr. Myers down and focus on my craft lol
Then it would confirm H3: Season Of The Witch is likely in the same timeline. My theory/view is that H3 is the same timeline as the movies surrounding it. John Carpenter made a movie based on the 1978 babysitter murders. So, in the Halloween universe/reality, there's a movie called 'Halloween' that was made based off the real-life events.
First Halloween I saw when I was 9. Scared the shit out of me. Still my second favorite Halloween. So many iconic moments. A very under appreciated film
You know everyone talks crap about the guy who did Loomis' voice for H20, but I think they're just trying to nitpick. I think he did a great job. Without bringing Donald Pleasance back from the dead, you'd be hard pressed to get the voice any closer than that. People even say the voice in the new one is better. I can't tell a difference. People just want to hate on H20 for some reason.
I was eleven when I first saw this and I didn't know the difference now as an adult I can hear the difference but it doesn't bother me, he didn't butcher it and he sounded a lot like him so people just need to get over themselves, it was a great little tribute to Donald imo
I heard that during shooting for H20, Jamie Lee and some of them were in catering, sitting at a table. Rumor is that Jamie dropped a spoon, and Michael walked under the table and got it.
I had no clue it was a voice over guy doing Donald Pleasences voice, I assumed it was Donald Himself and they had used a sound clip from the original movie of his speech.
Would've loved to see Michelle Williams in this doc, i believe Durand played one of the best Michael, he had this movements and phisically he looked a lot like Nick Castle imo, this is a great upload, keep'em coming!
@Yeeyee Bubba agree to an extent.. I would NEVER compare Durand to Castle BUT saying Durand was awful is just plain fucking stupid.. he made it his own and I didn't mind it at all
I want more of Rachel Carruthers from 4&5 she was a great addition, and character for the series. prematurely killed and one of the regrets the series has admitted to making.
I watched this Movie only just the other day, and it immediately became my favorite after Halloween 1978 and Hallowen II 1981. But, I haven't seen the 2018 Movie yet … :-D
I agree! I always loved Chris Durand as Michael in H20 growing up. Still do. And there was just something about the mask in the movie that I love. 35:28 I loved that mask in the movie. Not the CGI and cartoony mask though. 28:01 just looks terrible. But yeah I agree. H20 is my fav. as well.

Fantastic and revealing doc!!! So much I didn't know about it. That Dr. Loomis's voice is not really Donald? Wow. Also good to see the cast returning to talk about it. I quite like H20, probably the 3rd favorite in the whole series
*UNPOPULAR* *OPINION* : This is the best Halloween movie. I’m not even sorry about it. I love the original and I love Halloween 2018 but H20 is the perfect horror film. It has a great first act, an interesting second act to build the characters (which they did well considering it’s only 86 minutes long) and a phenomenal third act which never lets up from the point of Michael entering the school. It’s relentless. The last 20 minutes of this film are literal horror perfection: Great kills, a prolonged chase sequence, tension and an awesome showdown in the school. Laurie kicking through to that axe and the overhead shot of her walking up to the school screaming ‘Michael!’ is so damn good. And then just when you think it’s over she grabs those keys and drives off in the van with him in the back. Stop it! This film is incredible 😂 Admitted, you can’t beat the style of the first, you just can’t, but seeing Michael and Laurie come face to face in that door window was *ICONIC* and it’s for this exact reason that it’s better. There’s something exciting about meeting new characters in an original horror film for the first time but you know what’s more exciting than that? Seeing them face off again 20 years later. And the fact that it’s someone of Jamie’s calibre is the icing. This was a once in a lifetime thing right? Never would this happen again... And here we are, another 20 years later and Jamie is back again, reprising her role in a new trilogy and honestly, we just don’t deserve it. I know we had a hard time as fans during Resurrection and those Zombie films but this is too much. What an incredible time to be a Halloween fan!
I actually much prefer h20 to Halloween (2018) I prefer Laurie’s story arc, I think it’s less sensationalist than her storyline in the new one. Also the scene where Laurie breaks the gate controller and grabs the axe and screams Michael is amazing
It's funny how from the original Halloween to H20 the world seemed so different, yet from H20 to 2018 not much has changed. If you watch H20 today, the movie looks like it could have come out this year. Clothing styles haven't changed much, the picture quality is HD etc. but when H20 came out, the original Halloween looked so old and dated! Clothes, cars, film quality, hair styles etc. were entirely different! Weird!
The 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's all had very distinctive styles and are easily recognizable. You're right, everything seems to be stuck in the 90's (except for cell phones). It's kind of sad how everything is so bland and boring now but probably appropriate for the dystopian, totalitarian era we seemed to be headed towards.
That's completely untrue. Lots of things have changed since 1998. In H20 there's no cell phones, the cars are way old, now. As far as fashion, in the 2010's retro clothes are fashionable. I 100% disagree with your assessment
I wouldn’t say it looks like it came out this year lol but I get your point, the differences between the late 70s to late 90s seem a lot more drastic than late 90s to today.
I've ALWAYS admired special features, especially,THE MAKING OF!!! I appreciate it just as much as the finish product,it's like ice cream after supper :-) a UA-cam reviewer once mentioned that someone told him this film,H2O is the sequel worthy to the first 2 films& it's very true,Lori shrode vs his brother storyline series which is a trilogy!!
I liked this movie when it came out. I saw it in the theater when I was 17. When I watched it 20 years later, I hated it. It's got too many late 90s horror tropes - jump scares, cheesy music when a character's hand falls on another character's shoulder preceding the jump scare, and your typical Dawson's Creek casting. I was happy that 2018 was a direct sequel to the original, doing away with the whole 'hurr durr Michael always comes after his family' thing. He's far more terrifying as a random, don't care who you are, killer.
H20 isn't bad, but it isn't amazing either. The biggest problem with the film is that it feels more like a Scream movie than it does a Halloween movie. It is too self aware and it has too many wink winks in it. Having Janet Leigh, for instance, was all about winking at the audience and added NOTHING to the story. The film lacks atmosphere. Setting it in California hurt the film and robbed us of the Halloween atmosphete. The opening scene was the only part that really captured that.
@@MrParkerman6 Completely disagree....Like the OP said, it was too self aware. Halloween is legendary, and doesn't need to mirror other franchises, especially Scream.
I always felt bad for the composer of the movie getting his stuff replaced by the Scream score but... wow, aside from that little bit in the dining hall, it really did not click lol

Sure you don’t have evil masks, or psychic kids in it. I understand how it can be confusing to shit brains like you.
Because of one actor from Dawson's Creek. Great, bro.
One of my favorite Halloween movies, if not my favorite! This is also my favorite documentary that I've seen!
Stop writing "favorite"

That's a hard sell. Best case it's 3rd, but probably 4th (excluding SOTW). Could have handled the chase throughout the school better (ending) and obviously the mask debacle is unforgivable. I do like it quite a bit, but the OG and 2018 are 100% superior. The original H2 is up for debate, too slow paced for quite a while but last act is tremendous. On another note, 2018 soundtrack is unparalleled. However, opinions vary. Different opinions and civilized debates make the world a better place. No offense intended.
Shout out to the 90's babies who got their first taste of Michael Myers through H20. I was only 5 when this came out and I thought it was awesome.
I was 6 when this come out. I remember going to my Uncle’s house. He had this on. I watched this when I was 10, it was showing on FX Network. As a kid it just brings back alot of memories.
Yeah I was 7 when this came out the first one I actually seen in theaters was Halloween (2007)
Same!
The original script don’t sound to bad.
That’s what I was thinking, I would love to hear more or hell even read about that original script or first draft.
My favorite scene from H20 is when Laurie tells Michael after crashing him out of the window of the van to come on, and he rolls over to his back, then she says get up, and he sits up almost like in the original. Love that part.
This was first back to original idea on Halloween... Rest in peace Dr Sam Loomis. But yeah, I still did loved parts 4,5 and 6 with dark storylines.
I love Halloween H20 too bad Resurrection ruined the ending and ruined the franchise to that point
Never heard of it 😐 Trash ass movie ❗️🖕🏾😂
I am TRULY a Halloween Fanatic! I have every single Movie (vhs), DVD, Figurine, Masks and other collectables. I watch Halloween every single night before bed. My daughter Jaymie was named after Jamie Lee Curtis... The significance behind the story is amazing.
every single night?? Lol jesus Oh No
@@jessegotti lol lol EVERY NIGHT lol... I love to watch it while I do artwork! I'm a UA-camr but I also do voice impersonations so maybe after October I'll put Mr. Myers down and focus on my craft lol
You gotta know all the dialogue in the movie and quote it lol 🤣🤣
Watching Scream 2 in Halloween:H20, what if the girls were watching Scream 1 where Randy is watching the first Halloween.
Lee Scott mindblown😆
Then it would confirm H3: Season Of The Witch is likely in the same timeline. My theory/view is that H3 is the same timeline as the movies surrounding it. John Carpenter made a movie based on the 1978 babysitter murders. So, in the Halloween universe/reality, there's a movie called 'Halloween' that was made based off the real-life events.
@@ericconnor708 stupid theories
Part of me is fascinated to see how they would’ve continued the thorn storyline. A even bigger part of me is glad they binned it.
It would've dealt with most of the town being "in on it."
Halloween 2018 was good and a fun movie and my first Halloween movie to see in theaters, but Halloween, H2, and H20 will always be my fav trilogy 🧡🧡
I love H20. I still watch my old VHS copy to this day. I've never seen this documentary though. Probably because i have it on VHS 😂😄
Chris is by far the most used and abused stuntman who ever played Michael. He was literally, EJECTED out of a moving van!
One of my favorites!
I love Halloween 1 and 2 but,H20 had the best acting. Alot of known actors and Jamie Lee's tribute to us fans:)
"NO GUN!!!" "NO GUN!!!"
"AH,YOU GOT ME! YOU GOT ME!!!"
very comedic coming from a stuntman's impersonation of a producer.
EDIT:I'm Glad you are back!
Cheers to the whole cast and crew...
First Halloween I saw when I was 9. Scared the shit out of me. Still my second favorite Halloween. So many iconic moments. A very under appreciated film
Halloween water. Halloween hydrogen hydroxide. Halloween two parts hydrogen, one part oxygen. Halloween held together by covalent bonds.
Watched it in the theater when I was 16 man time flys by so fast.
I actually love H20. It was like HALLOWEEN meets Dawson’s Creek😂
@Jarred Knox 🤣🤣🤣 i know right
You know everyone talks crap about the guy who did Loomis' voice for H20, but I think they're just trying to nitpick. I think he did a great job. Without bringing Donald Pleasance back from the dead, you'd be hard pressed to get the voice any closer than that. People even say the voice in the new one is better. I can't tell a difference. People just want to hate on H20 for some reason.
Voice in the new one is definitely better. Technology has improved, so they probably have more options today to get it just right
I was eleven when I first saw this and I didn't know the difference now as an adult I can hear the difference but it doesn't bother me, he didn't butcher it and he sounded a lot like him so people just need to get over themselves, it was a great little tribute to Donald imo
You’re saying people want to hate H20 for some reason? People just to trash Resurrection because it’s popular to do so
@@PinocchioDread no we bash Resurrection was fucking TERRIBLE.. worse than Halloween 5 and that's saying something....
Jarred Knox Ehh, Resurrection has a dark tone, good cinematography and music just like H5. Both might be cheesy, but still good
Chris Durand was in Captain America II: The Winter Soldier plus The stunt coordinator & an actor on the film as well.
Patrick Peralta: And if I'm not mistaking they probably took his part from part 1 because he died of cancer in 1995!!!!
Me 2
Great documentary. Thanks for uploading this

Never realised that one scene had a digital mask, always thought it was either a different mask or a weird light effect making it look that way.
Never noticed
Would've loved to see Michelle Williams in this doc, i believe Durand played one of the best Michael, he had this movements and phisically he looked a lot like Nick Castle imo, this is a great upload, keep'em coming!
@Yeeyee Bubba agree to an extent.. I would NEVER compare Durand to Castle BUT saying Durand was awful is just plain fucking stupid.. he made it his own and I didn't mind it at all
Surprise Josh Hartnett didn't appear either

I want more of Rachel Carruthers from 4&5 she was a great addition, and character for the series. prematurely killed and one of the regrets the series has admitted to making.
I watched this Movie only just the other day, and it immediately became my favorite after Halloween 1978 and Hallowen II 1981. But, I haven't seen the 2018 Movie yet … :-D
I love it too. I love how Jamie kicks Michael's ass. I'm pretty sure your favorites won't change after you see 2018.
It's not your favorite then
This was the first Halloween movie I saw. It holds a special place in my heart.
H20 still my favorite Halloween sequel, the truest the original
I agree! I always loved Chris Durand as Michael in H20 growing up. Still do. And there was just something about the mask in the movie that I love. 35:28 I loved that mask in the movie. Not the CGI and cartoony mask though. 28:01 just looks terrible. But yeah I agree. H20 is my fav. as well.
you have to be on magic mushrooms
The H20 mask is my favourite mask from the series.
I love that we care about the characters like in the original. We get to know them a bit.
This is nothing like the original.
H4 was the truest. Did you even watch it?
It’s so interesting to hear that all the anamorphic lenses at the studio were being used on other films the studio was then currently producing. I love Movies, I love everything about them.
The creepiest part of this is whenever they mention the Weinsteins.
Even scarier: they all knew about it and only said something when it had a political advantage to do so.

I still enjoyed h20 bit more then 2018
Why?
Fantastic and revealing doc!!! So much I didn't know about it. That Dr. Loomis's voice is not really Donald? Wow. Also good to see the cast returning to talk about it. I quite like H20, probably the 3rd favorite in the whole series

@⚔️NotaVillianofthestory Absolutely!
Stop it! This film is incredible 😂
Admitted, you can’t beat the style of the first, you just can’t, but seeing Michael and Laurie come face to face in that door window was *ICONIC* and it’s for this exact reason that it’s better.
Jarred Knox Is that you hate H20 so much or can’t understand someone not having the first be their favourite? Tell me.
i love H20! michelle williams is a great actress. if only “resurrection” didn’t exist- i dig the new installments.
Patrick Lussier carries two frames of the film in his wallet still to this day. I truly love that! Patrick Lussier. Great editor.
Halloween 1-classic
Halloween 2-awesome
H20-fun guilty pleasure
Halloween '18- entertaining
The best micheal myers movies
4 is good too
I actually much prefer h20 to Halloween (2018) I prefer Laurie’s story arc, I think it’s less sensationalist than her storyline in the new one. Also the scene where Laurie breaks the gate controller and grabs the axe and screams Michael is amazing
Love all the easter eggs hidden throughout the film
I bet it’s trippy for Jamie lee Curtis to watch Halloween H20 and 2018 Halloween to see herself at 20 years old 40 years old and 60 years old lol
Weird!
The 70’s man
The 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's all had very distinctive styles and are easily recognizable. You're right, everything seems to be stuck in the 90's (except for cell phones). It's kind of sad how everything is so bland and boring now but probably appropriate for the dystopian, totalitarian era we seemed to be headed towards.
Yeah h20 had a huge budget
I love all Stacy Langenkamp videos.

“I shot him 6 times....he’s not human!” -Dr. Loomis

This is a great documentary on a great Halloween movie 😊❤
An amazing documentary.
The opening scene was the only part that really captured that.
well said and thorough comment
Being like Scream was it's strength, not it's weakness.
@@MrParkerman6 Completely disagree....Like the OP said, it was too self aware. Halloween is legendary, and doesn't need to mirror other franchises, especially Scream.
Janet Leigh was a great addition especially since it was her final film appearance and her and her daughter got to share the screen for one last time.
“More like a scream movie” and H20 has music from Scream too! 😬
I always wanted to see how Michael killed Charlie and if their was a struggle or did he put up a fight like Sarah!
