The original Fable was the first RPG I played. I remember selling everything in my inventory for this hammer I really wanted. Didn't realize at the time that I sold the clothes I was wearing too, I got the hammer but spent the better have of that game in the nude lol.
It's really impressive how good the artstyle is on the original, to the point that it looks better than the supposed improved version. Also, original feels like an eternal autumn, while the new one looks like summer, which took away of that whinsical feeling of an never ending Fall season.
You and all the people saying that the old one is better are just blinded by nostalgia. The old one looks like shit in comparison. Look at the fucking demon door.
I just downloaded Lost Chapters again because I don't know where my disc went. I think I'm gonna play that version again instead. The character models look nicer in the remake but it definitely seems it lost some of it's original appeal. I feel like the bright whimsical colors is what made the OG. I grew up with this game on Xbox. I spent so much time on it. I loved the story, the unique weapons, the magic, the music. I haven't found another game like it.
Thing about Fable TLC is that it can run DRM free on Windows XP. For me that is a massive plus. But honestly I have to wonder why Fable II still hasn't had a PC release; that is the best of the series by far.
Xbox should've made a next gen re-release with the original 3 games with or without remastering it while we're all waiting for the reboot or incase is turns out to be sh## like the Saints Row Reboot.
Fable 2 is literally my favorite. I've bemoaned its lack of a PC version many times. Maybe if it were available for PC, some prominent bugs would finally be fixed.
Fable II is the game I never played and always wanted to and the point at which my childhood took an abrupt end. Haven't really played games afterwards even though I kept track over the years and now have a humongous list of video games that I never get to playing, feeling as if a game is too old and want to get to the newer ones, or that a game is too new and that I should start a little bit earlier. Actually the same can be said about Oblivion, but this one, Fable II, I really, really, really wanted to play.
Currently playing it through cloud from the gamepass ultimate, it aged but it's still very fun to play. You really should give it a try, maybe you'll wake up your inner child.
I remember playing Fable with my friend and we played those betting games in Fable and found a money glitch. Suddenly we had infinite money to spend on fable, good times.
I mean, the Anniversary's landscape is such and eyecandy, it has developped a lot. But I've got to admit, I prefer the TLC version. I just love the pure confusion on the hero's face in every single cutscene xD
Thank you for this comparison video! I think I will actually go for the Anniversary remaster. Apparently this is an upopular opinion to take, but I never got to play Fable 1, not attached to any of the original graphics and details, I grew up with 2 and 3 though, and Love them.
I love this game but it drives me crazy how they ruined the character models. The environment looks great but the character model's faces have all been beaten with the ugly stick. I will never be able to get over it
The biggest thing offputting to me in Anneversary is no pre-screen picture for items or powers. No bundle of items for inventory or poses for strength, skill, and will powers. Also, no picture of the area map for me to find weird faces or poses in when loading into a new area
I like the original one better whoever worked on remastering it sucked. There's a difference between remastering the graohics to completely changing the characters and content.
I think the water comparison at 7:48 really shows why fable TLC is my preference. The graphics may be a bit cartoony but theyre believable in the world and they really did ALOT with a little. The shadows make a big difference in feel while playing too. Anniversary falls into the uncanny valley where the mouths dont fit the words quite right and the character remodels are creepy, the shadows make you want the ability to turn them off entirely. Anniversary is uninspired and they focused on the wrong things IMO. I may be a minority and a bit biased but i truly believe the original way Fable was released (on OG Xbox, controller in hand, WITHOUT TLC content) is the best Fable experience in the entire franchise. like honestly less is more with Fable i really could do without the northern continent dlc and extra jack of blades dragon fight. where it ends originally for me just felt right. i cant be the only one right?
Yeah but you gotta admit having Jack take over the Hero and corrupt him with his mask was pretty cool (not to mention you get to keep said mask after), so were the artistic scenes following that ending with Jack in the Hero's body crushing the world around him bending it to his will, a nice little addition I thought.
I feel like the ambient of the original versions seems more open and vast. Whereas the new one feels more tight and the space feels reduced in terms of distances and such. I don't know if snyone feels the same
Anniversary looks 1000% better for details and visual and I love how the added all the original subtext and audio…. But the OG fable will always be hard too beat haha the nostalgia of it is what really gets people…..
They should have made it for Xbox one instead and make something better, it doesn’t even make sense, the Xbox one was around the corner and it’s not like they didn’t know
i dont have an xbox with a disk tray, and i want to Play The lost chapters so bad but you can only get anniversary on the the store and Anniversary looks sooooooooo terrible, how does a game from 2004 have more appealing character models. 😥
The lost chapters is NOT the original. The original was just called Fable. I came here for a lost chapters vs anniversary comparison anyways but still, funny that you and most comments don't even seem to know the original exists but you make a detailed video on the game making you likely more knowledgeable on it than me.
@@jessyavila5317 He says in the video that TLC is the original. I wasn't commenting on the title, he just literally says it. Guess I should've timestamped it when I wrote the comment.
The same can be said about the anniversary one ,original fable looks cartoony ,it fits the characters but in the anniversary version the character just look weird, the heads look to big the eyes and when they're speaking it just doesn't feel like it should if that makes sense the environment however looks great.
@@kmassie14 It 100% is, im playing it right now, for free on my Series S. Fable 1 = free Fable 2 = free Fable 3 = free Fable 1 remastered or whatever it's called, also free

I prefer the OG. Love Fable, brings me such comfort and nostalgia to see it again after all these years
OG Fable has soul, and yeah, richer colors. Didn't really need a reskin
shut up

OMG Fable Anniversary is almost 10 years old!? I feel old
I remember getting it on launch day during my freshman year of high school! I’m 25 now, time FLEW! Replaying it on my One X with an SSD now 😎👍🏻
Wonder if it could run on an android

Check out Xenia emulator, Fable 2 on pc using an emulator will be playable in the future most likely!

I've been just playing it and the northen continent feels like a chore. Also, the snow town with the light house legits feels like a rushed addition.
OG has a charm to it
If Anniversary had a more warmer lighting and the faces wouldnt be so cursed it could have gone way better imo
Og fable looks way much better
I like brighter colors.
How
it's more better
@McWaffles86you are right with the faces
@McWaffles86ye
Another example devs destroy something what is already perfect. It happens all over again to games
lost chapters still looks better than anniversary.
Why does your original looks so clean and high definition? Mine is pretty blurry.
Playing on pc and higher resolution?

Awesome video! What are your thoughts on the new Fable trailer?
The ambient noise was so good to be honest why they did that 🤧
The remaster is nice. Just wish the performance was a bit better in towns.
Dang, it lowkey looks worse than Fable 2 despite coming out 6 years after
In my opinion Vanilla graphics is better
Fable was impressive on the og xbox
where are the ambient sounds? wtf?
Yeah that's something I immediately noticed. The water sounds were like nonexistent.
The OG looks better honestly
Why does it look even better now? Because its 4K or did they make a 3rd version? The Series X version looks a lot better than this video
