- Jack of Blades is the greatest evil and enemy that any Hero across Albion has come across. Not only did he almost destroy Albion during his quest to acquire The Sword of Aeons, but he came back in a new form in an attempt to destroy Albion again. Jack is an ancient evil that has lived since before The Old Kingdom.
In this lore episode, I explore the origins of Jack of Blades and attempt to explore what he truly is. Where did Jack come from? Why is he obsessed with acquiring The Sword of Aeons? How is he aware of the ancient heroic bloodline of Albion and how far will he truly go to achieve his quest? I look to answer these as I explore Jack of Blades in Fable.

Honestly, I think Jack is still alive. He’s one of those villains that always finds a way to survive even the most final of defeats.
It wouldn’t even surprise me if he was the Corruptor himself. Retreating into the void and absorbing all that dark power for himself. It would be fitting, William and his lineage took all his power, why not claim his?
If you read your sister's letter in Fable 2, it is pretty obvious that a hooded man says that they will see each other again soon. So it is possible :)

One if my favourite villain, if not my favourite video game character of all time. Not having him or the court in the newest Fable title would be a giant sin and i would easily have him as a villain over 3 games! Just seeing him in the game would bring me so much excitement
So jack finds out where the hero's family is staying and immediately start a bandit attack! why not just go in calmly, did he really need to kill everyone? 😅 what if the bandits killed all the Heroes by mistake.
My theory is that there was a Hero named Jack. He’s the one that people see as a Hero and celebrate his return. At some point, perhaps when Hero Jack left for all that time, he finds Jack of Blades and is possessed by the mask. Jack gets the favor of the people and all that Hero Jack had before.
That's a really good theory. Not something that I've thought about!
I think the reason Jack is celebrated but is also the biggest villain is that, through many years of different Jack of Blades' Arena wins, he's become a sort of moniker. There's the doubt that he's some immortal lich, then there's the doubt that it could be some underdog in his image. It gives credence to the dichotomy of public opinion we see.
Are you implying there are multiple Jacks out there? it seems the mask is magical and unique to him.
Jack Of Blades is one of the best and coolest villains of all time.

One of my absolute favorite villains in any game, Jack is so underrated and I really do hope he's somehow involved in the new installment. There's so much to work with for the Court.

He really is. I enjoy using Solus Greatsword to slay him properly.
I was deeply in love with him when I was 10. And even now he's a "comfort character" to me.
Even though he burned the hero's village, cut out his sister's eyes, and imprisoned his mother for decades (and genocided people for not worshipping him and his fellow deities?)

Hands down my favorite villain. Not to often I’m sad defeating a villian but I was with Jack and I haven’t been since he’s the only one. I wanted to know more back in 05’ Fable 1 was imo a perfect game.

Given that there were two other masks from the Queen and Knight. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason he held onto them wasn't sentimental. It was backups should he need a new vessel.
The queen and knight of blades souls were still in those masks, but because they were so much more powerful and in the period of fable LC it was much harder for him to find a suitable vessel for them nevermind himself.
Love your channel, I personally would not mind a look into the cults rise to power, if you already did this then no problem, love the Fable lore

Plot twist the queen of blades from fable and the queen of blades from starcraft are the same thing
If the Fable 4 rumors are true and the game will hop planets, time and dimensions, then I wouldn't be shocked if Jack and the rest of the court of blades return. Of course those could be BS which is fine by me. As long as Fable 4 lets the player do and become literally whatever and whoever they want, has that classic British charm/humor and feels true to the previous games, I'll be happy. I would like to see Jack return though, I'd also like to see Scythe/William Black come back and actually flesh all this lore out in game.

I believe Jack is alive too. Like Alduin he is only truly defeated if you travel into the void and abolish what's left of him there. Jack is not just a mask. The mask acts as a conduit for him to materialise in the real world. I believe a Gollum like figure will find one of the masks in the bottom of a lake... *cue the Ring theme*

I hope he comes back in fable 4, but being reincarnated and lost all his memory. It would’ve been awesome that the hero now in fable 4 would be childhood friends with jack of blades reincarnation. Jack of blades will slowly be reminded of his past, and starts to become evil. The hero try to save his friend from evil, and failed many times as they get older. Finally, jack of blades will finally get defeated by the hero, and you’re given the choice to kill him or not. And so on LOL
I'm unsure on whether I'd like to see him again. It would be pretty cool though!

I always liked to imagine Jack of Blades was a primordial demon god, essentially the antithesis of primordial gods. Hence his extreme power.
Him and the other members of the court were probably born from the "Void" or whatever entity embodies the void itself, which it seems has never (directly) revealed itself to us.

a few things im confused on id like cleared up if possible, did jack exist before the corruptor? saying william black spit out the corruptor (after stealing the sword) is it possible it was a manifestation born from both william and the sword? is the sword perhaps with a host, a possessor of sorts a grand master? An "if so" arch villain it would be then wouldnt it.
It never occurred to me that the other two masks were the Queen and Knight, not just spares. That's surprisingly sentimental for someone/something like Jack.
Then again, the wise-cracking Freddy Krueger thing they stuck him with in Lost Chapters felt horribly out of character too.

I feel like there should have been a boss monster quest for each monster type like the wasp queen.
They should have made a prequel to Fable instead of fable for and have it be defeating the original jack of blades
I'm loving these videos but when it comes to anniversary graphics for this game they look weird. I'll always prefer the original.
What is their goal? Why do they want domination? It’s more of a means to an end than an actual objective.
lil bit o juicy extra, in the fable anniversary teaser trailer, it shows Jack of blades from behind for a FEW SECONDS, as he pulls his hood up and we see (at least in the first fable) that Jack has short black hair, in fact to me, it looks like the default hair for fable, lol

Since we don't truly get the actual ending like they don't specify that he actually died what if he actually took over the mind of your character and eventually didn't need the mask but still made one just in case that if the one he had broke he at least had spares or if he did lose that mask what if he actually did just make replicas and they're just all around and he can permanently be around after you know the death of his two allies

Jack literally just represents a maxed out rpg character, the mask representing player control I think.
The hero kept the mask for it’s power which is why Jack is back in Fable 4.

During the time of fable LC, finding a vessel powerful enough to hold their souls was difficult. They were both much more powerful than and required even stronger vessels than jack to host.
