since the creation of this video I upgraded the hoist to one that has a stop on top and bottom. It's a lot better but still not great. I wish it had a guide to wind the cable evenly. The hoist in the video was from Harbor Freight. I got a couple years use from it which is to be expected. Here's the new dumb waiter and new cage too ua-cam.com/video/7lTleaRcu3Y/v-deo.html
Hi I’ve been looking for something like this I’m going to move from a single floor to a 3 story house just for extra help!, would you please list all that you used and how you connected I do not have any experience with machines but with a little directions and advice I could make the try thank you sooo much
to put this in your 3 story house you'll need the dumb waiter to go through 2 floors. If you contact a carpenter he can make the openings. Show him the video and he can easily build the rails. I've since upgraded the hoist to one with auto stops at the top and bottom.
@@MyChipCarving thanks for your reply I’m just going to use that only for 2 floors jus the most difficult part because for the 3rd floor I cannot have access because of the floor plan, thank you so much Carmela
Nice! :)
Please teach me how to make this!
I WANNA RIDE IT!!!
You and all our guests ☺
You could ride that thing!!!
Ride It
I see the stop switch going up but is there one for the bottom too? Nice job..

@@MyChipCarving i'm very interested in the upgraded hoist. what kind is it. i've been trying to find one with no luck thanks so much
@@swampfoot8065 here's the one I bought. m.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200673894_200673894
Cool machine. I assume you needed to cut some floor joists out to make the hole in the floor? Seems a bit... risky.
Not risky when done right 👍 add correctly sized headers in opening. Mine were 2x12 and I doubled on both sides. Strong as can be!👍👍
noisy tho
new hoist is quieter and faster, but more $$$
soooo.... all this, and you attach the cable with an eye bolt. LOL sry man. But seriously, you can do better! let's see the upgrade!
The 2x4 cross member carries the load. I don't see the problem.
upgrade coming!!
