It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

Putting storage into a staircase is an idea used more and more in tiny houses because every inch counts. But UT has to be in the design. Adding later doesn't fit.
I'l bet it's super fun when the electric elevators that go through the floor/ceiling get stuck mid travel when the power goes out and you're stuck in an elevator in your own home. No chance of dying there.
@@kealani6535 you make a good point. We just got a garage door installed at my work with a motor and chains. One single chain to pull and lock in place to disengage the motor from the drive chain. The other chain is a big loop that you manually operate to drive it up or down in case of power outage etc. I never knew these kinds of drives were around and being used until recently. Makes perfect sense to be used on critical equipment like an elevator.

For me, I would want to get it for my house but install it as an optional way to get upstair - not the default one.
Edit: I have just google it. That thing is real and work not a scam which was my first thought when I first saw it. It turns out to not relying solely on just human arms strength like I thought initially. It still rely on human power, but not just the arm strength.
Ideas & looks here all are great & impressive to see BUT the practical consideration ultimately is how much the costs to buy install...that becomes the real problem ?!!! That's why is not widely used ?!?!

Stair steady (4:06) should be implemented as standard everywhere. A hidden pulley system should be incorporated to further improve the design.😅

They are hydraulic. If they were only mechanical I would love them.

They don’t run off the power. They run off a battery that is recharged at one or usually both ends. Just like stairlifts.
