You did a great job with this video I have a question if you could help is there any difference between the card that comes with the action figure compared to the box set cards?
If you’re referring to the Toy Biz cards that came included with some of the action figures then you should be able to flip the back of the card over and it should say Toy Biz on the back. Those cards are rare in high condition because they were obviously packaged with the toys.

I have a ton of the 1993 Marvel Masterpiece in a box that are in amazing condition I got as a kid. These seem to be selling well as a PSA 10. Do you think these cards will keep there value?
Well the 1990 cards have stabilized on prices. I have to look into the Masterpieces more but I think the key is PSA 10. If you don’t think you have a chance it’s hard to justify $100 submission unless you’re doing bulk and willing to wait 9-12 months

What's your thoughts on error cards from theses cards? I have one listed on eBay at auction. A Holo card with the back is up side down... ??
So just like anything this is a new and developing market. The error market is a subset and I believe that their are collectors who specifically try and collect errors such as in comics. I think these cards will draw in the same crowd just as in sports cards. Having said that, I have seen some error cards listed that are just miscut and I do not think that they will command any type of premium as many of these cards had production problems. However, there are some error cards such as the green goblin (hologram) with the finger pointing that is different . My understanding is that occurred in the beginning of the print run and may be more sought after. I think you’d have to see how it does in the marketplace to determine the value or desire regarding this error. It sounds like you may be the trend setter in that regard. Good luck!!
I have 2 complete binders of these cards and was thinking of getting some graded. I'm using the card centering tool and magnifying glass on ones I was thinking of grading.
My only concern is on some cards, there's extremely tiny black marks only visable with the magnifying glass (or intense squinting) that won't rub off like dust would. Is there a way to clean these marks off safely? Will it reduce the grade to a 9 just bassed off the extremely tiny black mark?
Nonetheless, I'm having alot of fun thoroughly observing each card!
So I’d love to tell you no, but truth is it’s possible as you do get graded on surface so any marks will affect the grade.
I would recommend a small microfiber white cloth from Amazon and gently go over the marks in 1 direction. This will allow you to see if it comes off. It’s important to try and go in one direction in case it does smear
And you don’t want to damage the card.
I would also test on your least favorite card just to make sure you know what you’re dealing with. Hope that helps and good luck 🤞

I've found some beautifully centered cards in my collection so far. (Alot of them not so much 😭) I did have another concern for some cards. To the naked eye, the card looks flawless, but when I shine a very bright light on a few cards, you can see slight scratches on the front. These tiny scratches are only visable when using a very bright light and in certain angles. I'm guessing that would reduce the grade as well?
I’m glad to hear you were able to correct some of the issues. Unfortunately, they do grade on surface. Since I can’t see how bad the issue is it’s hard to tell how they would handle. Remember grading is subjective so you can send the card in 5x and maybe get 3 different grades. It’s one of the risky parts of grading.
@@The1284 Yes that's true, it could be a gamble with so many different varriables involved. I have a nice stack of cards ready to be submitted and that's just from one book so far. Still have to find time to go through the next book of cards. It's definitely time consuming as well as alot of attention to detail haha. Still very enjoyable! PSA doubling their prices is going to stop a whole lot of people from making submissions. If you go express for $150 and aren’t hitting 10s it’s going to be a gut punch
Rick i completely agree. Due to the price increase, i actually just bought three Marvel PSA 10 cards for around that range. I just filmed a video i am going to put up once done editing. I think if you can buy a slab for under $200 for a PSA that it may make more sense and less risk then just submitting and hoping for that amount of money.

Going through my dads old cards and comics. Turns out he has three whole sets including a whole set of the holos all wrapped up and in great condition in his safe. Says he’s giving them to me but I told him all I want is a 10 wolverine. I’ve got three cards to try. Hopefully 1 of them is a 10

So, i just recently stumbled upon my old comic cards. Where should i go to have someone look at them to see if I have anything worth being graded? I have the entire 92 Marvel comics card set. I also have the complete 94 marvel universe card set including all special edition cards like holograms, suspended animation and others. They are all mint and have been in sheets since i collected them new in the early 90's. Going to watch through your videos some more, its got me a little excited to see if they are worth anything. I have that Mr. Marvel 1990 card too. hmm
Congratulations on the awesome find. I don’t know that there is anyone really to go to that can look at them other than maybe a friend who is a collector or possibly your local Comic/Game shop. I'm an amateur card collector. My newest marvel card i picked up is a 91 mojo. Do you have Bullseye?
Congrats on joining the hobby. It all starts with just 1 card. Hopefully, it will lead you to other cards, characters and art you will enjoy. As for Bullseye, I have many of them.
I grew up with series 2. I much prefer those.
That is another classic and awesome set. You definitely can’t go wrong with the 90s Marvel cards.
If you have some of the cards like venom, hulk etc…. The cards that are worth thousands at a 10. If they are probably going to grade a 8. Do you think holding onto them for another 20 years ish as a 8/9 graded will be more valuable?
Honestly with the prices being what they are for grading, I would hold. I’m holding a number of cards until the pricing and turnaround times dictate differently. However, most of my cards I intend to keep so just keep in mind what your looking to do whether hold or sell.
I rather focus on rare Marlve precious metal gems :)
I have some masterpiece and other Marvel cards as well. The metals are gorgeous.
Going through my cards I have two full sets of these, not touched in 30 years, what are the high cards to get graded, have have the holos also
So I would first say grade what you like. Next it’s important to know that the various grading companies have raised their prices and also closed down some tiers so you have to research how best to submit given the huge price hikes. As to cards, I think the Spider-Man’s, Wolverine, Stan Lee and Thanos cards tend to do better. Holos are extremely difficult in high grade so check centering and surface, but any holo in great condition may not be a bad bet. Hope that helps.

I’m new to this but what does centering mean? Like what is wrong with the center of the card? And what is too heavy mean?
Centering is probably best described as the symmetry of the card. Are all sides of the card and borders equal in size. When submitted cards for grading, these companies look to see if the card is well centered on each side. When i talk about heavy I’m referring to the card being off centered, meaning top heavy means the border on the top is greater than the bottom or sides. Would a PSA 10 be equivalent to a CGC 10? Not a 9.8?
So that’s a huge matter for debate. The answer is not necessarily. Each company grades differently and on a different scale. A Gem Mint for CGC is a 9.5 like Beckett. CGC trading cards then has a Pristine 10 and a Perfect 10. Like Beckett has a Black Label 10. However, PSA does not grade higher than 10 and does not provide any designation for a perfect card

So I’ve never personally used a middle man. However, I have heard some good things from other collectors using Ludkinscollectables.com. I’ve always preferred to manage my own submissions and the price is a bit cheaper. If you use one, let me know as I’d be interested on your impressions.

So I think the 90 MU cards continue to be a favorite and nostalgic set. I am still a huge fan and working on a set of PSA 10s. Market prices are anywhere from about $175-1500 depending on the card in a PSA 10. However, if it’s less than a 10 the prices are much less making grading these cards high risk but high reward.

I actually busted out a ruler and magnifying glass to measure the centering lol. I found 3 perfectly centered cards.. Pheonix, Cap on his motorcycle and Patch Wolverine. How much do you think they will sell for?
The prices fluctuate. I would recommend going on EBay and typing each specific card in and looking at PSA 9’s and 10’s and see what they have sold for in past 90 days. Keep in mind PSA just doubled their prices so you really need to consider that before trying to submit and remember how long it will take to get your cards back.
why do these off centering manufacturers errors effect the grade at all? cgc doesn't take manufacturer errors into account grading comics..
I think that’s a very valid question. I believe the answer is two fold. First, one of the specific criteria for card grading is centering. To not take off for this would allow a huge majority of these cards all to just be 10s (and there’s a ton). Second, it’s a defect that not all of them have. There are plenty of well centered ones out there. Thus, if it was a manufacturer defect you would expect ALL to have it, which they don’t. This is one of the best and most difficult sets to get 10s in.

The right side centering of that psa 10 nightcrawler is way off it is more off centered than the Electro 9. Why is that?
It might just be the angle as I double checked based upon your comment but the Nightcrawler is spot on while the Electro is definitely heavy on the left side vs the right.
If marvel ever releases new trading cards the early 90s cards will boom. They're Essentially like rookie cards
They have new releases, but these are very iconic. Check out the Marvel Masterpieces

And how much is a “sealed” pack of cards worth?
That’s a loaded question depending on the pack, condition, rarity and other factors. I would look to eBay sold items on a particular pack you’re looking at to see what others have paid to get a better feel for the market price.
Im a little late. Really appreciate the video though. Now if you could only teach PSA how to grade. They don’t know what they’re doing. Ive seen plenty of so called 10s that are noticeably off center and ive seen 9s that are better centered than 10s. A 10 is supposed to be more or less perfect to the naked eye. This means “true “ 10s would actually be REALLY rare especially in this set , since the cards are known for not being centered well. The problem is PSA is trying to please the people who send in cards to get graded. They want 10s. If all they get back are 9s they’ll soon stop sending cards in. Money flow comes to a halt for PSA. Unfortunately thats the way it is. Im all for grading but with standards like PSA’s it makes it frustrating to be a collector. Maybe they could fix it by imitating CGC’s idea of accepting back 9.8 comics to possibly get a 9.9 or 10. PSA could do the same and offer to regrade all 10s to a 10+ or 10 gold star for a truly perfect card. Until then all we can do is use PSA’s grades as ball park figures and do the actual grading ourselves. Like they say : dont buy the grade buy the card. This has never been more true.

This depends on the Wolverine you’re talking about. There are a couple different ones such as the brown suit, yellow/blue suit and then you have patch and some other Wolverine type cards. I have seen some sales around $600-800 as of today but I would check eBay daily.

Hoping that when PSA opens back up we will see a small uptick. There is also talks that with the new acquisition of CGC they may start grading the comic cards. I guess we will see.

Well I think it’s all circular. Right now PMG’s are super hot and then it will come back around again. I just don’t think people realize how hard 10s are to get in this set.

There's nothing "iconic" about this set. It's all hype. This set actually sucks. The Jusko art sets are still the best.
That is a great set as well. I think we will need to see how collectors react to the other sets such as Marvel Masterpieces. I think it’s great that Marvel Cards are finally getting some interest.
