I see this is a year old, but just want to say that they sell it on amazon now and it works wonders for me!! My husband doesnt believe me .. he thinks it's "just my will power," but ive tried everything and have struggled with skin picking as a way to cope with my anxiety ever since I could remember. I suffer from ocd thoughts/ tendencies that get bad when under stress and i'm telling you, this stuff really , really helps those thoughts and urges become manageable. I am not "cured" nor do I expect to be, but this is a WIN !
Thank you, this gives me a glimmer of hope, as I have suffered with skin picking for 15+ years as well as moderate acne, depressive disorder, OCD, and generalized anxiety disorder- it’s hard to manage all this and work full time. Thank you. I will be trying it soon
I tried NAC in different dosage and it worked really great to relieve the urge to pick. At some point I used up to 3 g per day to feel some urge relieve. The only thing I noticed then was that I became histamine sensitive. Then I read the medical information and it is a possible side effect for high dosage of NAC. I never had problems with that before. After I stopped using NAC for a while I was able to eat normal amounts again. So NAC is great and I love the effect for skin picking, just be aware that if you start getting histamine like problems it could be from NAC.
Here’s the deal with NAC: “The administration of NAC probably increased the absorption of iron through the gastrointestinal tract, causing higher serum iron levels with significant hepatic damage. These results indicate that in a rat model of acute iron intoxication, orally administered NAC may increase mortality.”
Tysm I have been looking for something to help with my issues with skin picking and I’m so hopeful now because I have tried just about everything medically known to man without any good results. Ty ty
I just looked through pages of results when searching for NAC on Amazon, and nada. Please pardon me if I am mistaken, but Amazon does not sell NAC at this time. Lots of things that look and sound similar, but no NAC.
It appears to be curing my psoriasis. I've only been using it internally for a week & started at a fairly low dose. After doing quite a bit more research & discovering that is can be in cream or ointments I've started using it topically today. I'm really hoping that it is working the way it seems to be. It just seems to be too good to be true so far. Much smoother skin, some areas are less red & the plaques are are smaller & are less attached. I'd never heard of picking until today & it seems that I may have that condition paired with psoriasis. It makes healing take so long & it feels like it'll never end. However I've had various patches of psoriasis since I was very young so I know it's possible to heal them. I just usually get stuck with each patch for at least a few years. My current patch has been ongoing the last six years & it's on my hand, constantly getting in the way. I used to just get it in my hair, ears & on my elbows. I'd be more than willing to trade the old patches for the newer ones because they were so much easier to manage.

I love that you’re featuring this study, extremely valuable for many, in tandem w/ Post C-19! ❤
Thanks for the feedback!
NAC does wonders for sinusitis, allergies and asthma. Anything related to respiratory can benefit from NAC.
Thanks for your comment

Very interesting. I didn't know the FDA is in bed with the drug manufacturers
Also I want to know the dose. A doctor told me 4000 mg daily.
I didn't know either.
They did 3000 mg / day in the study.
Haha
I dont trust the FDA.....tks doc for this info. My son suffers for skin picking. He has Prader Willi Syndrome
Sure thing, Fabiana. Best wishes for your son.
Money, money, money and greed.
Sure seems that way.
Wait did I understood it right that this could help sooooo many people and this is not available anymore? Funny though..
yes, it's back though :-)
I only found 800mg do you have to take more?
@@einfachsoxyx9851 They used 2400-3600mg in the study
