The handle is smooth Natural Bone with a Nickel Silver Oval Stars & Stripes Inlay shield. The bolsters are Highly polished Nickel Silver. This knife utilizes a 3 1/4" Clip blade and 3 1/4" Spey blade. Stamped with pattern number 6254 CS, the blade material is 1095 Carbon Steel with a mirror-polished finish. Note: Carbon Steel is generally harder than stainless steel, this allows the blade to hold a sharper edge, longer. However, Carbon Steel will corrode/rust if it's not cleaned and oiled regularly. So, whether you're hunting for authentic cutlery to collect, a top quality knife to give as a gift, or a superior tool to use, don't pass this one up! That's a good looking bullitt knife I really like those scrolled bolsters. Those cracks or flaking I've had them never get any worse then I've had them crack and flake up enough you could hang your fingernails in the cracks. I'd send it back Rusty they don't care so don't worry but I know how you feel. Thanks Rusty

I appreciate you sharing this info. I got it from Chicago Knife Works, so I will have to see their return policy.

Great looking knife. I dont like the rivets/pins sunken like that it pulls the covers too tight which could crack bone over time "I have done a fair bit of rivet work in my time" Bone & whales teeth etc can have blood vessels "trans-cortical vessels" in it that may look like a crack but are not, but it could be either.....I agree Case should sell 2nds that would be about 50% of thier production in my buying experience😆 .... Love the Remington ....Have a good weekend buddy..

I appreciate the info. Part of what I love about having a UA-cam channel is the information like this I get from people with real-life experiences. Maybe I should be concerned about my red delrin in this video. I have seen delrin crack too.
      Thanks for the info.

I'd be concerns about that crack as well. The Remington looks really good. Have a great day!

Thanks brother. The Remington is cool, as I have found most Remington USA made knives are.

If it bugs you, then sure. Otherwise, remember, even the most beautiful lady has flaws. Otherwise she wouldn't be. 2nd option: Get a second one and put em both in the safe just in case.
Scales are typically glued on with epoxy anyway.

I appreciate your reassuring words. I am sending the natural bone back. I could probably learn to love it, but I want to be able to sell it to a broader market down the road. "Crack free" appeals to just about every potential buyer

Welcome back Rusty, I missed you man. Looks like a crack to me and since it is running through the Case Shield, It might have been created because of the hole being made to place the shield. But Could also be a stress crack already in the bone that coincidently line up with where the shield needed to go. To return or not to return, always the big question. For me knife buying at any price has become a roll of the dice.
For now I will not be buying any more knives for a while. Food Prices are going to skyrocket after the election so I am saving my Money. Thanks for another great Video.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts on the crack. I have requested a return, as I hope this knife will be sought after one day, I won't to be able to offer it "crack free".
Food prices are high. I actually have been buying a ton of apples at $1.99 a pound and pork loin at $2.99 a pound. Vegetables and fruit are cheaper than meat. In my area pork , then chicken are the less expensive options and I eat small portions to afford to eat.
I'm losing weight in the process too. 😂😂😂😂

I had a persimmon Orange that had a crack under the bone but couldnt feel it with my finger nail. I sent it back and got a good one. Ive got the same natural bone trapper with no cracks. So yes Case should have marked that as a second and sold it for $20. If they did that id have a lot of Case seconds😂😂 they will never do seconds tho. Wish they would.

I sent this one back to Chicago Knife Works. I have bought quite a few knives there as of late and I didn't want this one to have a huge crack 10 years from now. I ordered another one, am hoping it's a good one.

Really pretty bone on that one. I love that shield too, and a 100% yes for 2nds.
It looks like a crack to me, a scary one :(

Thanks for checking out the video and giving a vote for Case seconds. Maybe they already do such a thing, but you have to go to the factory. I think Buck does and Bear and Son has, maybe still does. Locals go and buy up a bunch of factory seconds. Syderco, Kershaw. Do or have done it.
Case has a lot of knives that should be discounted. Here's the fix, bump up the price on factory first by 10%, lower the price on factory seconds by 10%, then the customer has a choice. Grade A, or you can't complain. What do you think?
