I started collecting knives in April of 2021 with a Camillus and the Joe Pardue Utilitac 1a by Ontario Knife company. Today, I am still budget focused looking for that "hidden nugget". Although, I also purchase knives when I feel the value exceeds the prices.
Follow me on my knife collecting experiences.
I plan on doing short videos for knife and gear reviews. Hopefully progress in to some "knife science" with sharpening and cut tests. Also would like to break into firearms, hiking, knife modification and maybe dog training.

Hi Rusty. That is an interesting blade design. Two Sun puts out a lot of variety both in blade & handle design. That TS 284 is a good example. I got close to ordering one of those. The pocket clips on both sides appealed to me but the front flipper put me off. Still haven't embraced them yet.with back flippers, thumb studs, blade holes & autos with buttons and sliders, I have to train my hand to remember....it's enough. All of those knives are good looking designs. Even that slip joint !
Thanks Tom. From one Twosun fan to another, yes, Twosun is not afraid to "go crazy" and I appreciate that, because somehow they still are able to be functional knives. This one might not be the best EDC, but it will cut.

I remember. You have the one that looks like a Sencut Citius but is a Wong design that you carried for a bit. Wong is normally great, some of his are just OK, but can't think of a bad one

Good choice! I do believe the Queen Sawcut series is a really good series. The Wharncliffe is based very closely to the original wharncliffe, from my research.

Those Queens were fantastic Budget Barlows and that whole series is better put together than RoughRyder I thought
I agree. Queen Sawcut is one of the best budget knives for quality I have found. Some Rough Ryders can match them, but most fall just a tad short.

Thanks for sharing, that's a nice looking Barlow pocket knife! I have a two blade Irish Stag Barlow that is 3¼" closed, and the larger clip point blade has a 2¼" cutting edge. The smaller blade is a spear point with 1½" cutting edge.
That's nicer than an import imperal Barlow. I like it
Did kershaw make it so you could swap the blades? If you look at the sheath it looks like there is a pocket for the kaper. My grandfather gave me this knife on my first elk hunt and I would like to complete the knife if it was suppose to come with both blades.

Another Classic Barlow , i agree the carbon steel makes for a good user blade. Have you tried any made in Sheffield Barlows like A Wright & Son, they are the real deal. Thanks buddy 😎👍
I have put them on the list, but not pursued them hard. Do you have a good place to shop? Most would be in wood handles, yes?
For the money all the frostwood knives made in Saki are superior to other off-shore production knives bar none. Great selections.
Thanks for the heads-up. I have heard they are very good. My spring is a bit soft, but the blade seems super sharp and seems to be of really good steel. I like the fit and finish too.
@@rustyminer Seki. I have over 30 patterns that they made there. Not a bad one in the group. I also have 5 Frostwood knives made in China/Pakistan and while they function well they are a bit awkward in fit, finish, walk & talk compared to the ones made in Seki.

Same story here ,my father gave me a Barlow, in the about 1968. Suggestion, the Classic Carbon II Halfhawk, is an excellent knife, Trust Me you will love it!!! 🗡️🔥🙏👍
I agree, unboxing the knife is not always exciting. I have been adding that at the end of my videos as of late. Mostly because I came across a streak of New Old Stock and people might like to see the model numbers and I like to have the build date in my video for later reference.

Since the late 1600 hundreds, when the Barlow pattern was designed, it has evolved. No different with Rough Ryder, in their 50 year run, main blade in front, single blade(like the original work knife). This pattern has a very interesting existence!! Thanks for sharing this!! 👍🗡️🙏🔥
