This is one of the best overall designed games for the SNES and indeed any system. Great design, music, levels and just the right amount of difficulty. Challenging but not so frustrating that you don't want to try. The sliding block puzzles were really great. It's too bad that they didn't make a sequel to this along the same lines.
I used to play this every single day, all day, after school as a kid. What a fantastic game, just enjoying watching you go through each room- almost like it opens up a memory box for myself! Great content.
Logo: On a black background, we see the Capcom logo (with the word "CAPCOM" in yellow with a blue outline, set in the Korinna font), which shines briefly. The logo looks metallic. In some cases, there is no animation. Variants: On Capcom-developed games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, especially Mega Man (starting with the 4th game in the series), the logo has "PRESENTS" in white below the now-smaller Capcom logo. The logo shines in the 6th game. On Capcom's MVP Football (1993), launched only in the Americas for the SNES, the logo is bigger and fades in rather slowly compared to the original logo. "PRESENTS" is written in blue and a different font. The logo was accompanied by a high-pitched version of the theme described below. On games released for the Game Boy, the logo is in monochrome. One example with this is Street Fighter II. On Final Fight One, the non-metallic version of the logo from the 2nd one is used, and the "Presents" text is in red. An enhanced version of the logo made a surprise appearance on DuckTales Remastered. FX/SFX: Just the shining. Music/Sounds: Just two warbling synths, then a long-lasting electronic piano glissando (which sounds different depending on the system/game it appears on). In other cases, it's silent. Music/Sounds Variant: A low-pitched version of the theme can be heard on the game Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems (awaiting for more games that used the music variant). Availability: Seen on all Capcom developed games in the 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit era, such as Mega Man X1-3 (only the SNES version of Megaman X3 has this logo, the PlayStation and Megaman X Collection versions use the next logo), Street Fighter 2, etc. This logo was left intact on Megaman 7 in Megaman Anniversary Collection for PS2 and GC, and on Megaman X and Megaman X2 in Megaman X Collection, also for PS2 and GC. The "Capcom Presents" variant is known to be on Megaman 4-6 on NES, which is also left intact on Megaman Anniversary Collection and Final Fight on the SNES.
Oh not this one is a old favorite me and my cousins and brother would have so much fun playing this. This game is perhaps my favorite of the Disney capcom collaborations
You know, playing this game with someone makes it a wholesome story of a father and son facing the odds together and having each other’s backs as they save the day. But playing it solo, it’s just Goofy being a Liam Neeson badass using his particular set of skills to single-handedly combat an army of pirates to rescue his neighbors.
Man, what a game! It was so much fun playing it back in the day; and that catchy soundtrack, always loved it, even sometimes I hum or whistle it, particularly the stage 4 track: "Lose my way". There are a few things I did not remember, like navigating those dark rooms, the bouncing boulders, solving the puzzle while avoiding the fireballs, the red pirates that threw the stuff back at you lol! Last time I played this was perhaps around 2004, sadly I don't have the patience I had as a kid and could not finish it again. Thanks for bringing back those lovely memories.
I loved this cartoon back in the 90s, and the movie was pretty great too! Never played this game but Capcom had a knack for making several classics. This reminds me of... _Bomberman_ and mmmmaybe _The Adventure of Lolo_ .
You say 'nobody in Goof Troop becomes a sandwich' but I feel somewhat disappointed that we will never hear "Gawrsh, that was too close! You were almost a Max sandwich, a-hyuck!".
I LOVED the show as a kid; however, I wrote the game off due to it not being a platformer like most of Capcom's games based on Disney franchises. Might have to give it another chance!
I borrowed this from my distant cousins when I was a little kid. After I returned it, I never played it again. I had the tune from the first level in my head all this time!
I have been trying to figure out what game this is for nearly 20 years. I played it with my dad when I was little. I could only remember that it was a game with Max and Goofy and you run around fighting stuff. I wish my dad was still around to show this to.
We're the Goof Troop, and we always stay together! We're the Goof Troop, best of friends FOREVER! Classic cartoon, classic game! This is one of the first games I've ever played that showed us just how brilliant 2-player co-op action can be for puzzle-solving and dispatching pesky pirates by throwing stuff at 'em, A Link to the Past-style, or luring them in with a bell to kick blocks into their direction. The mechanic of catching objects thrown to each other, though, that I can't get enough of. Awesome game. It's Goofy and Max like you've never seen them before! You cannot "goof" by picking this game. Pretty cool soundtrack too. I swear, at least one of those instruments is also used in the first Mega Man X.
i remember playing this with my father when i was younger, he knew a password for the game but i don’t really remember it, sometimes we would throw stuff at each other, catch it, and throw it back. it looked pretty goofy (no pun intended) seeing it, and whenever we did, we would laugh our bottoms off. i still miss him to this day.
Just want to point out that Goofy is the only one of the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) who actually has children of his own. Not nieces, nephews, etc. This means that Goofy is the only one who we KNOW has been intimate with a woman (well, a female goof anyway). Let that image conjure up in your mind...
Watched this show and definitely rented this game a few times. It was lots of fun, but there was a puzzle in the last level that I could never get past; I think it might have been the one at 49:54. Looking back, this is a really nice little game with some very clever puzzles and fun gameplay. Gives off some strong Zelda vibes, particularly in the later levels. Thanks for sharing, and great job on the playthrough!
I played this game before zelda from snes. And absolutely hated goff troop at a point to delike zelda at first. Nowdays I change my mind and can appreciate both games
goof troop wasn't the first goofy video game but it was the first video game which max appeared in. it would be cool if they'd make a game where max would have to save roxanne.
Just got a nintendo switch for myself after I saw a younger cousin playing the old nes classic Mario games and finding out they had plenty og games on it was hoping to find this gem on there too. Maybe one day, but childhood flash backs were crazy going through all the games they had on there.
I never made it past 28:43 as a kid. I tried to get my cousin's daughters to play it with me but ever since I got them into the Super Nintendo they've been stuck on Donkey Kong for like seven years 🗿
I remember I used to play this game with my dad. I was 7 years old and I found it difficult to play, but I used to see my dad so excited to play it that I tried my best. Sometimes I felt asleep on his knees while he was playing. I remember every time he got to the bosses, he woke me up to see if he won or not. One night, 4 am, he woke me up because he had made it to the final boss. I ran to the living room with a blanket, so excited and anxious about the whole event. Those times were precious. I felt like my dad was my best friend. Everything changed as I grew up and when I came out to him at 14, we grew apart. I’m 32 now and he’s still very homophobic. Wish I could go back in time to feel that joy again.
Goof Troop is a ridiculously fun little action-puzzler that lives up to the quality of Capcom's NES Disney games.
Well, now I know where some of Sr. Pelo gets his music from! He must be a huge fan of this game and its soundtrack, LOL.
I was the guy who never liked Disney Afternoon, but the games on which they were based
Let’s not forget it is made by the great Shinji Mikami
The director goes on to Resident Evil glory later
Wtf

Goof Troop was such an amazing cartoon back in the day. This game certainly does it justice. Capcom made so many gems on the SNES.
I agree
:)
One of the greatest SNES games. Such puzzle fun for young and old kids.
Remember playing this with my dad. What memories. Those were the days!!
I like how you can tell how this game helped lay the groundwork for Resident Evil in a way with the heavy emphasis on item management.
the puzzles and backtracking too.
@@maxwellr5251 absolutely this.
Definitely more of a Zelda clone
^has very little in common with Zelda other than being top-down and the occasional opening a locked door.
I used to play this every single day, all day, after school as a kid. What a fantastic game, just enjoying watching you go through each room- almost like it opens up a memory box for myself! Great content.
I loved playing this with my cousins growing up. It's such a short, fun romp that we'll still pick it up for a run even now.
Same dude! We played on an old ctv
Designed by the guy who would go on to direct Resident Evil, God Hand, Vanquish and The Evil Within.
So that explains the puzzles.
Shinji Mikami was behond this one??? 😱 WOW!!!
All incredibly good games
I rented this game so much as a kid. Co-oped it with friends. Beat it alone. Everything about it is magical and perfect.
For me i let this game sit for almost two year till i see my neighbours play it with his cousin... Than i got hook up
My favorite licensed game.
I cant get over his angry gaze. He is gonna goof some people up!
31:24 what a music master piece!
Ingame music was sooo much better back in the days than it is today..
This brings back memories. Going to Blockbuster on Friday nights to rent video games and movies.

Listening this on headphones makes me realise how epic this music was and still is.
Wish it had more levels!
That pirate ship level is some of the catchiest Super Nintendo music ever. (45:19)
31:24 , Masterpiece.
20:13 That is straight-up a room in a dungeon from a Link to The Past. Heck, the aesthetic of the entirety of Level 3 is for that matter.
Oh not this one is a old favorite me and my cousins and brother would have so much fun playing this. This game is perhaps my favorite of the Disney capcom collaborations

Underrated comment.
Ah, all of the fun early Game Grumps memories come flooding back.
This is such a good game. I played it all the way through as a kid. I remember the sounds, the music, everything.
An excellent action-puzzle game on SNES, and I'm sure it plays even better as co-op. A staple for any SNES library.
Thank you for taking me back to the past!
@ 5:00 that's music to my ears.... when the Capcom logo comes on.. good memories

It reminds me a bit of Kickle Cubicle.
You say 'nobody in Goof Troop becomes a sandwich' but I feel somewhat disappointed that we will never hear "Gawrsh, that was too close! You were almost a Max sandwich, a-hyuck!".
Lmao that would be amazing, I must admit. A max sandwich sounds like something you could've bought at 7-11 in the 90s.
I LOVED the show as a kid; however, I wrote the game off due to it not being a platformer like most of Capcom's games based on Disney franchises.
Might have to give it another chance!
The Legend of Zelda vibes were strong with this game. Loved it as a kid!
I borrowed this from my distant cousins when I was a little kid. After I returned it, I never played it again. I had the tune from the first level in my head all this time!
I remembered playing this with my brother as kids. Brought back memories
I loved to play this with my big sis back on the 2000's , thanks for the memories man.
The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.
I have been trying to figure out what game this is for nearly 20 years. I played it with my dad when I was little. I could only remember that it was a game with Max and Goofy and you run around fighting stuff. I wish my dad was still around to show this to.
Very clearly a spiritual successor to the two "Higemaru" games, also produced by Capcom.
Never noticed that until now.
Great observation!
Speaking of, it's too bad the NES Higemaru never got released overseas, though it apparently almost did (under the name "Makai Island").
The excellent music in this will forever be stuck in my brain.
We're the Goof Troop, and we always stay together! We're the Goof Troop, best of friends FOREVER!

Shinji Mikami, previus to RE.
Apparently the SNES Goof Troop puzzle game was originally going to be a sidescrolling platformer featuring Max and Pete Jr.
There was this one puzzle on the final level, just right before the final boss (...I think) that was really hard. As expected of Shinji Mikami.
I could never finish the puzzle in the steering-wheel room!
Another great playthrough from the legend
Cousin had this, it was always fun to play co op
Made by Shinji Mikami, father of Resident Evil.
i remember playing this with my father when i was younger, he knew a password for the game but i don’t really remember it, sometimes we would throw stuff at each other, catch it, and throw it back. it looked pretty goofy (no pun intended) seeing it, and whenever we did, we would laugh our bottoms off. i still miss him to this day.

I didn't say she was crazy I said she was fucking Goofy!
@@jacobgillmor-anderson9239 Ah, an oldie but a goodie. ;)
Never played this one before. Nor, have I watched "Goof Troop" too often. But I *have* seen "A Goofy Movie" a couple times.
I was obsessed with "A Goofy Movie" in the 90's. Don't know any 90's kid who wasn't obsessed with it.
A Goofy Movie is a classic!
Both Goof Troop and A Goofy Movie are now streaming on Disney+!
This game totally made my 98' Christmas vacations. And I always tried to buying it after that !
cool, i never play this one before, beautiful game
Such a great game, I remember playing this as a kid with my grandma
I remember this
I love this game 👍

The classic of all coop classic on snes. Cant stop playing this game when im young.😢😂
goof troop wasn't the first goofy video game but it was the first video game which max appeared in. it would be cool if they'd make a game where max would have to save roxanne.
Trivia: Goof Troop is kinduva successor to Capcom's old Pirate Ship Higemaru games, especially the sequel, Makai Island
Ive completed the game for the first time these days. Very fun game, should have played before!

I miss this, I would use Max cause he moved a little faster😁
