Thanks for sharing your story Benjamin. I saw your other interview on the Moral Medicine youtube channel but this one might be ever better. You described everything so well. The gaslighting by doctors is extremely common for people with PSSD. I'm really sorry you've had to go through all this and I'm glad you have came to terms with it. I've had PSSD for over 13 years and I agree that the more I see people speaking out, the more I am filled with hope for a future where people no longer need to suffer from this terrible condition.
I have had PSSD for 8 years now. Testosterone 1150, ZERO libido, complete loss of erection all this time. My life now, day by day, it's a nightmare from which I will unfortunately, never wake up. The worst thing is that there is no prospect of a good ending.
Check your free available testosterone! You can have high total testosterone but still have low free available testosterone. Mine was high but the test for free testosterone told the truth.
@@MM-qf5peHow old arr you? I've dealt with it too from ssris. I'm 35 and it's been over 5 years. I relieve myself maybe once a month compared to everyday. I'm also and opiate addict trying to recover. Oh and never had a wet dream prior to this but do now every so often.
@ Yes I have ed and I take viagra. I had my doctor test for free available testosterone and sure enough I was very low so he prescribed TRT. Testosterone replacement therapy. You need a doctor that specializes in TRT and they know what tests to order then what to prescribe, injections, gel, patch. I chose injections because they give the best results but also I use to bodybuild many years ago and am not shy about using needles. I’ve been on test just over a week and my libido is definitely returning starting to get a morning woody and sexual thoughts are happening plus I sleep better and my mood is stable and am experiencing a feeling of wellbeing like I haven’t in years. All positive no side effects because I dose every other day to keep test levels from spiking. Get a free and available testosterone test by a qualified TRT doctor. Wouldn’t that be great if all you need is testosterone?👍
After discovering this discussion I am stunned by how much I can relate to this person’s story. Finally I understand my sleep problem (not going to sleep until I realise morning is almost here!.) I was on Prozac (20mg) for a decade approximately. definitely helped me (at the beginning ) Then because of my insomnia (?!!) my neurologist suggested that I see a psychiatrist because I also have MS and depression can be a major problem with that disease. My new psychiatrist put me on Cymbalta, then Seroquel and then the old me disappeared. It has only been since I started watching your channel that I realised how damaging the SNRI & Seroquel have been I was prescribed Cymbalta and gradually I withdrew from everything that I had once enjoyed. My sleep was the original problem but I so understand what your guest was saying about not recognising that I needed to sleep. The sexual dysfunction has severely impacted my 39 year old marriage. I also feel an emotional disconnection which I have been so confused by. Thanks for highlighting these problems to current (& future?!) consumers of these drugs
You should understand Joey Marino’s story in Mad In America. Prozac + Seroquel. I’m even concerned your MS might be more than MS. Are you sure it’s not neurological damage from the Prozac? Even drug induced dystonia or Parkinsonism? The nerve pain alone these meds leave behind is beyond belief. I didn’t even know pain like this existed on earth. Understand the risks of akathisia. Especially withdrawal, tardive, and chronic akathisia.
I haven’t watched too much of this video yet because I know that I’ve been going through something similar. You’re a brave man Benjamin being able to talk about this! I can’t imagine how hard it is to speak about this subject, although that shouldn’t be the cause. Just listening is tough to hear. This started happening to me after a couple of years of being prescribed Effexor. It started out with numbing and irregular feeling ejaculation. If I wasn’t depressed, I certainly became more and still depressed because of PSSD. Take care everyone
Having been on SSRIs and SNRIs and attempting to come off them for the last 20 years, nothing compares to microdosing psilocybin to help withdrawal symptoms as I taper. I'm finally getting somewhere.
Psilocybin saved my life. (For background I’m autistic. And being undiagnosed until I was 23 is part of why I was wrongly medicated for “psychiatric” illness ) I injured my spine in April. My spine was functionally neurologically fused in an upright position all the way until August when I took shrooms on a camping trip. I spent the whole trip focusing on heating. And repairing my body from the inside. When I woke up the next morning my spine had unlocked and I was able to do two cartwheels. Something that I haven’t been able to do in YEARS. Since then I’ve made so much progress. I’m more mobile and flexible than I’ve probably ever been. Much of my damage from overmedication (Zoloft, trazadone, stimulants, benzos, zyprexa, nortriptyline, Celebrex, Wellbutrin, trileptal, and celexa has massively started to improve. AND I GOT MY ABILITY TO READ BACK. I lost it for 8 years. Lost my ability to understand Spanish. But it’s all coming back. And it’s coming back better than it was prior. It’s like my brain has rewired itself in outstanding ways. You can look back at some of my earlier comments on this channel and see how much improvement I’ve made in just the last 6 months. And also how my attitude has changed surrounding everything. I’m finally going back to college; soemthing that I never really got to do before because of feeling so drugged and brain damaged. I’ve also started using CBG (cannabigerol) to treat my overactive adrenergic system and my epilepsy (mostly temporal lobe seizure appearance like absence seizures and sensory seizures but I have also had full clonic/tonic and less severe Jacksonian seizures) that was minimal and undiagnosed in before meds but which is now quite prominent because of all the meds. TLDR: Psilocybin and other plant medicines are giving me my life back that I never thought would be possible
And just like that your brain is damaged and no one can do anything about it and doctors think you're crazy......what a nightmare....I'm living it because of benzo.
Son was on 30mg prozac, took him down to 20mg. He's only been on 3 months and the daily vomiting is cause dangerous weight loss. Doctors think just keep saying that will go away. 3 month is still happening. Then the apathy seem more dangerous than than depression. What's the difference between suicidal thought and not caring if you live or die. He's doing risky things that risks his life now. We contacted a pharmacist to help with getting off the drug. The dr. think increasing the dose will fix it. They've already increased and added Abilify 2mg and it's just gotten worse. Since being on Prozac he's also gotten more aggressive even violent too. That's what lead to abilify being prescribed.
Ability is an antipsychotic- a chemical lobotomy. It’s a thousand times worse than any SSRI or SNRI. I’d throw it in the garbage if they tried to give it to my kid.

Proton pump inhibitors and h2 blockers prevent B12 from being metabolized, which apparently is a frequent cause for persistent sexual dysfunction. High dose Prozac does, too. Specifically, it can cause a loss in pleasurable sensation and delayed time to ejaculation. Some doctors use it to treat premature ejaculation, but if too much is taken for too long a time, it can cause permanent delayed ejaculation, which is 10 times worse than premature ejaculation!

Delayed ejaculation from amphetamien use is from the adrenaline vasoconstriction. In symbalta it’s not only due to vasoconstriction if any to do with that.
